The NT Church is Primarily a place for God. It's a place for God's Word to be established. It's a place for God's Son to be exalted. It's a place for God's people to be equipped. It's a place for God's plan to be engaged. I. The Foundation of God's Church - The Worldview of our Faith is TRUTH. The Truth of God is found in His Word:a. In the Spoken Word - Genesis 1; Matthew 4:4 (mouth of God); II Timothy 3:16b. In the Written Word - Exodus 20 (finger of God); I Peter 1:16-21c. In the Word Made Flesh - Jn 1:1,14 II. Two Worldviews - Truth & Lies(As in Crete so in every place people gather corporately - You will either hear the Word of God or the word of man, I Thessalonians 2:13. There will be truth or tales. Why should truth be so important to us? 1. Satan seeks to destroy truth through deception and doubt - In John 8 he is called a liar and the father of lies. a. The truth sets people free – John 8:32b. The truth makes people holy - John 17:17c. The truth leads people to Heaven - John 14:6d. The truth fights off the Tempter and his temptations - Mt. 4:1-11 III. What a Pastor Must & Must not be - (Looks can be deceiving - Most of you know who David is. Many of you know who Samuel is. Few know much of anything about Eliab - I Samuel 16:6-7. He was the oldest son. He was the obvious choice. But he wasn't. 1. What a pastor must NOT be - 1:6-72. What a pastor MUST be - 1:8-9 3. A lover of strangers (hospitable) - “never met a stranger (philoxenos vs xenophobia); Luke 10:25-37; Romans 1:8-13; Galatians 6:9-104. A lover of good things - II Tim 4:6-85. A sensible man - Level-headed, Keeps a cool head - Acts 23:56. Just - upright; a stand-up guy 7. Devout - practice what you say you believe8. Self-controlled -
By Robert Gardenhire - Criticisms about Jesus' actions are answered and the somewhat veiled symbolic meaning of the cursed tree is discussed. The connection to the Temple cleansing and the message to Judaism and the NT Church are revealed.
How Have We Robbed God?Read: Malachi 3:4-12Malachi says, in verse 8 “Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.”“You have robbed me!” What an accusation. the people of Malachi's day were astonished! "How have we robbed you?" - But they had, by withholding the tithes and offerings needed to maintain the order of faith and society, and which were mandated by God for the OT nation of Israel. - A bit like paying our taxes to the present day government, only not so onerous. But have WE robbed God? In this podcast, Bob explores the idea of tithing, and concludes that in the NT Church, WHY we give is much more important than how much! So, just what is the motivation for Christians to support the Lord's work? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... God said to me: "Look at what these women were doing." I went back to I Corinthians 14 to see: 34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. It appeared to me that these women were interrupting the gathering of the church by asking questions. This would not be proper.
Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... Jude 3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. (Preachers today who eliminate many scriptures and approve such sins as fornication, adultery, and homosexual acts.) 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... As we think on the word given us by the Holy Spirit, that will cause us to go in the way God shows us in the Holy Bible. Certainly that way will end up being a way of success where things turn out well in the sight of God according to God's plan for us and HIS purpose. The apostle Paul says: Philippians 2:5-7 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... Ezekiel 36 (God says:) 23 And I will sanctify MY great name, which was profaned (made secular) among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. 24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. 25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put MY spirit within you, and cause you to walk in MY statutes, and ye shall keep MY judgments, and do them.
Jesus Ministries, Joan Boney ... 1 And God spake all these words, saying, 2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate ME; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love ME, and keep MY commandments. 7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh HIS name in vain. 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. (The New Testament sabbath is not the same as the Old Testament Sabbath in requirements. In the OT the people could not go out of their tents on the sabbath. They could not cook their food on the sabbath. NT sabbath is a continual rest, day by day, trusting in the Word of God and ceasing from their own works as God did from HIS. Hebrews 3 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear HIS voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. 16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.17 But with whom was HE grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom sware HE that they should not enter into HIS rest, but to them that believed not? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. Hebrews 4 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. 5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. 6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: 7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. 8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.) Acts 15 (New Testament Church) 1 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. 2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question. 4 And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them. 5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses. 6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. 7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as HE did unto us; 9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. 10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? (The of the Jews weren't even able to keep the Law of Moses, says Peter. The New Testament Church has the New Testament Scripture which show the NT laws of God for the NT Church. We in the church today keep those commandments of God that are in the NT Bible.) 11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
One of the keys to building a church modeled after the heart of God is found in the act of relationship building. If we learn to love and engage people like God, we will expand the Kingdom of God exponentially.
The New Testament church is not new to the environment of cancel culture. We have to search the scriptures, and we will find evidence that we were not under attack before but overcame those attacks by standing steadfast in what and who we believed.

Acts 1:4-8 While he was with them, he declared, “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait there for what my Father promised, which you heard about from me. For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” So when they had gathered together, they began to ask him, “Lord, is this the time when you are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” He told them, “You are not permitted to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority. But you will RECEIVE POWER when the HOLY SPIRIT has come upon you, and you will BE MY WITNESSES in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest parts of the earth.” Acts 2:1-4 Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like a violent wind blowing came from heaven and filled the entire house where they were sitting. And tongues spreading out like a fire appeared to them and came to rest on each one of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit, and they began to speak in other languages as the Spirit enabled them. The Baptism of the Spirit w/ Manifest Gifts is how Jesus SIGNS His Church. 1Pet. 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should SHOW FORTH the praises (wonderful deeds) of Him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. WE demonstrate that we're a peculiar people…possessed by GOD, when we're SHOWING FORTH His wonderful deeds. The Church can do a lot of good in Jesus' Name. But it's the manifestation of the Gifts/Signs of the Holy Spirit that elevate us above a Public Charity. Because it's what the Spirit does through us. ----more---- OUR SIGNS... Psa. 74:9 We do not see OUR SIGNS; there is no longer any prophet, and there is none among us who knows how long. The NT Church was born with the supernatural Signs of GOD's Presence flowing out from within it. The Book of Acts is a chronicle of the ACTS of GOD through church members as SIGNS that their message was coming from Him. OUR SIGNS flow from within us, and don't just declare that we're the House of GOD, but that, God is in the house! WE are to be LIVING SIGNS of what GOD IS DOING, not reminders of what He use to DO. When we don't see Our Signs we should cry out to GOD for Refilling, and Renew our Desire for them! FILLING & REFILLING... Eph. 5:18-19 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but BE FILLED with the Spirit; speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Paul didn't say, Receive the Spirit, he said, BE FILLED with the Spirit…” GOD isn't talking about Possession. He's talking about VOLUME; staying Continuously Filled. That's a Mandate the early Christians didn't neglect. Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak the word of God with boldness. The BAPTISM of the Holy Spirit isn't about GOD-consciousness but God-ACCESSIBILITY. Filling meant Receiving Power! That Filling of the Spirit causes a revelation—a new level of intuitive faith—where we realize that the acts of God are within us. That Filling replaces the sense of postponement with confidence for the immediate. “Such as I have, I give you…(Acts 3:6)” TONGUES & GIFTS... 1Cor. 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be UNINFORMED. EVERY Christian should KNOW ABOUT the Gifts. 1Cor. 12:7 To each person the MANIFESTATION (Exhibition) of the Spirit is given for the benefit of all. EVERY Christian should MANIFEST the Gifts. Mark 16:17 ”These SIGNS will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;… The Baptism in the Holy Spirt & Speaking in Tongues was the 1st Manifest SIGN that Jesus was going to continue His ministry through His followers. Sign of Filling & Overflow — In Ac 2, 10, & 19, when people were Filled they praised GOD in Tongues. Personal Edification — The ability to pray beyond your vocabulary. 1 Cor. 14:4 He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies (builds up) himself. Jude 1:20-21 But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God… The freedom to pray beyond your vocabulary — Rom. 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And He who searches hearts (GOD) knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Edification for your Spirit AND your Mind — 1Cor. 14:15 I will pray in the SPIRIT, AND I will also pray in words I understand. I will sing in the SPIRIT, AND I will also sing in words I understand. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit should be the Platform of our Fellowship! Eph. 5:18-19 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but BE FILLED with the Spirit; SPEAKING TO ONE ANOTHER… The combination of Being in One Accord & Filled with the Spirit is GOD's formula for the Body of Christ. It's the condition through which He operates.
50 days after Passover is the Feast of Pentecost. In the New Testament Church we know it as much more than a Jewish feast or holiday, the New Testament Church recognizes the day of Pentecost as the birthday of the church. So what is so significant about the church that Jesus planned, ordained, died for and built? That the redemption of the entire world would come through the vehicle of the NT Church! The church however cannot possibly stand against supernatural wickedness, darkness and the gates of hell, unless it has been given power from on High! That's where the day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2 comes into play. It is not only the day that church was born, but also the day that the church received it's power to not only stand against the gates of hell but to prevail victorious against it!! How do you get that power? Through the baptism of the Holy Ghost! We pray this message greatly empowers you and gives you the victory you're so diligently seeking!
