Pat Shanahan, executive director of the Wild Alaska Sole Association, says the light, mild-flavored fish with a flaky texture is the complete package of what consumers are looking for in a protein option today. "It has that protein that doesn't weigh you down, but it offers really superior sustainability and nutrition characteristics," Shanahan says. "It's a wild-capture fish, but it's very abundant. It's the second largest federally managed fishery in Alaska and averages around 200,000 metric tons per year, which is a very large fishery."She says wild Alaska sole is independently certified sustainable. On the nutrition side, wild Alaska sole is an excellent source of lean protein, offering high levels of omega-3 fatty acids for a low fat fish, Shanahan says. "It's quite unusual to find the levels in mild, low-calorie, low-fat fish, like wild Alaska sole. So we're really excited to share that kind of information, too, for those consumers and buyers that are looking for really healthy options or superior kinds of health benefits."

Maggie retired early from teaching to become the carer for her wife Ruth who have been together for 27 years, married for 15 of those and between them they have 15 grandchildren. Ruth, also a retired teacher, had been struggling with cognitive issues for about 8 years when she was finally diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2018. In this episode, Chris, Bryan, and Melanie take a broad look at the administration's FY2020 defense budget request. They discuss whether or not it is the "masterpiece" that Pat Shanahan promised, and agree (!) that the budget process is in need of serious reform. They ask whether it aligns with the National Defense Strategy, what Congress (especially the Democratic House with many domestic priorities) will think of it, and how it will be paid for in a time of ever-growing deficits. Finally, Chris takes the secretary of state to task, Melanie is irritated with what's going on in higher ed, and Bryan welcomes a friend home. Aviation Week editors discuss Acting Secretary of Defense Pat Shanahan’s career as Boeing’s Mr. Fix-It and whether he will stand up to President Trump
After the 787 delay announcement we (AirInsight and guest Jon Ostrower) listened into the conference call. Here is our take on this call - overall Boeing's handling of the call was better than the previous call is our view. We were particularly impressed with Pat Shanahan's detailed tracking of the pieces and parts for each of the next critical steps. This was a highlight of the call for us. Overall Boeing seems to be taking a much more deliberate approach now and is very aware of the A380 delay history. We think this call went better than expected.
