She has been an Alicia Patterson fellow and a multiple-time grant recipient from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting. She holds teaching positions at Yale University's School of the Environment and The College of William & Mary.We discuss the push to drill and dig in the administration, when many of the minerals and metals we need are already available in the byproducts of existing mining an drilling, in addition to the resources available in discarded items. We talk about the amount of waste produced, and buried in land fills, when when it could be reprocessed and used.Part 2:We talk with Julie Su, a nationally recognized workers' rights and civil rights expert who served in President Biden's cabinet as the Acting Secretary of Labor where she successfully led efforts to build worker power and union strength, negotiate historic contracts, and expand good jobs for all. Prior to her nomination as U.S. Labor Secretary, she served as the Deputy Secretary, and before that as the California Labor Secretary appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom. Secretary Su brought a wealth of experience as a nonprofit attorney representing low wage, vulnerable workers for nearly two decades prior to being appointed to government positions and as California Labor Commissioner from 2011-2018, where she was widely credited with a renaissance in enforcement and creative approaches to combating wage theft and protecting immigrant workers. Secretary Su graduated from Stanford University and Harvard Law School. She speaks Mandarin and Spanish. We discuss the information skimming that the DOGE boys are doing. Different government agencies have data about US residents, most of it private. However DOGE is pushing for access to ALL data, by unauthorized individuals who are part of DOGE, with no controls or oversight. This data can be used in many ways to exploit in many ways detrimental to us. Music: David RovicsWNHNFM.ORG production
#DOD: WHAT DO SERVICE SECRETARIES MAKE OF CHIEFS? TOM MODLY, FORMER ACTING SECRETARY OF THE NAVY. 1951 CHSIRMAN CHIEFS TWINING AND DEPUTY LEMAY
UPDATED EPISODE! As you may have noticed, we accidently posted Pete's last episode, equally good and worth a listen but you should also check out today's episode talking about the future of FEMA.The new Trump Administration has started out with a slew of news impacting emergency management. There were two trips to disaster areas. One in the Southeast and North Carolina, where the President stated that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) had performed poorly and even politicized the disaster relief. He promised to fix those issues. Then, a trip to Southern California to view the impacts of the Los Angeles fires. Prior to the trip he was critical of the State of California for its water policies and failure to maintain the forests by raking up the leaves, etc. That was followed by executive orders and memos that 1) Cancelled all advisory committees which would include one that advises FEMA. 2) The Office of Management and Budget (OMG) sent out a memo to all federal agencies to pause funding all grants to organizations—later withdrawn. 3) An email was sent to all Federal employees offering them basically seven months of pay—free, if they took the option to leave Federal employment after September 2025. The President also is establishing a group to study FEMA and make recommendations for how to reform the agency. Members of that council have yet to be named at this writing. In this podcast we will be discussing the types of changes that could be made to make FEMA more functional as an organization and then consider what types of major policy changes could be in the offing, e.g. shifting more of the burden of disaster recovery costs to states and local jurisdictions. The Disaster Zone Podcast Guest is Peter Gaynor, an accomplished executive with over 15 years of leadership in Emergency Management & Homeland Security at every level of government. He has led a wide variety of challenging disasters at the local, state, and federal levels. He has served as the Acting Secretary of Homeland Security, FEMA Administrator, and Deputy FEMA Administrator.Visit https://femapete.com/ for Pete's leadership course! Was the Occupational Safety and Health Administration properly created? Was the grant of authority Congress gave the agency constitutional and valid, or did Congress create an overpowered agency, to micromanage businesses throughout the United States. That is the question in the case Allstates Refractory Contractors, LLC v. Julie A. Su, Acting Secretary of Labor, et.al. Sadly, the Supreme Court decided not to year the case, even if Justice Gorsuch would have and Justice Thomas wrote a dissent.
Truth Be Told with Booker Scott – The report released showed direct quotes by General Mark Milley, Joint Chief of Staff; Christopher Miller, Acting Secretary of Defense; Steve Sund, Chief of US Capitol Police; and more. In a conversation on Jan 3, 2020, President Trump said to General Milley, “Hey, look at this. There's going to be a large number of protesters here on the 6th. Make sure you have sufficient National Guard or Soldiers to make sure it's safe.”
Kash Patel served as the former Chief of Staff to Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller and is responsible for leading the Secretary's mission at the Department, including his executive staff and providing counsel to the Secretary on all matters concerning the Department's operations. Kash oversaw the execution of several of President Donald J. Trump's top priorities. Kash begin the conversation on how Kamala will only do one debate and at this point she is the nominee but things could change. Trump decided not to receive the clown intelligence, he is receiving intelligence from other sources, Kash, John Ratcliffe, Ric Grenell all have their intelligence clearance. Most likely [KH] will become the acting Resident, Biden will retire. The [DS] will use a cyber attack sometime during the election, they will try not to certify the election. The cyber attack will blackout certain parts of the country. The [DS] will try to make Trump ineligible to hold office, this will fail just like everything else they have tried.
Happy Labor Day!!! Department of Labor's Acting Secretary Julie Su reminds us that the Biden Administration has been focused on building what they call the “high road to the American dream”. That looking out for the American worker is not just about having enough work, it's about those workers being paid properly, treated with respect, and at the end of the day, giving our citizens what President Biden calls “a little breathing room” to live our lives. How do we “pursue happiness” without that? On this Labor Day we dig into the Department of Labor and all the programs and agencies ready and willing to help the American people that most of us don't even know about, and the importance of having a government that not only respects our workers but will fight for them. In postwar America, a shocking secret program was undertaken to bring former Nazi scientists to the United States, in order to maintain a strategic advantage against the Soviet Union. Known as Operation Paperclip, the program involved hundreds of German scientists who ultimately helped give birth to the American Space Program. This week on The Micah Hanks Program, we take a historical deep dive into the controversial program, with an analysis that also looks at the various connections the program, its scientists, and the curious technologies involved may have had to UFO sightings during and after World War II. Is there an even deeper secret history to the U.S.'s post war collaborations with German scientists? Have you had a UFO/UAP sighting? Joe Biden is a proud, proud, proud Black woman. That is what the Figurehead said in an interview responding to questions his campaign wrote. That host has since been fired because she simply admitted that she only asked him the questions the campaign gave her. I actually praise her for standing up and being honest. We'll talk about the pro-Hamas demonstration in New York, but we'll also talk about an admission that Biden accidentally made. Is this a case where his dementia is telling the truth? It's about NATO. “We've seen about 400,000 individuals being paroled into the United States … This is a historic abuse of the parole system,” says Chad Wolf, former Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and now executive director of the America First Policy Institute. What is the parole system and what is it meant for? What are the root causes of the crisis on the Southern border? How are current policies exacerbating it? And how are cartels exploiting the crisis?“We're approaching about 500,000 unaccompanied children that have been trafficked across that border,” Mr. Wolf says. They have to pay the cartels or work off the debt when they get to America, he says. And the Biden administration did away with background checks and vetting of sponsors in America for such unaccompanied minors.“It's almost as though the federal government is the last link in that human smuggling chain. They're facilitating that child going to a sponsor—and not knowing who that sponsor is. Are we putting that child in harm's way or not?”Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.

If you are a high school student or the parent of a high school student, you are likely familiar with the acronym FAFSA. In 2024, the Federal government changed up the form and the method of determining aid for students enrolling in college. And it caused some confusion. So, we hopped on the phone with Dr. Sanjay Rai, Maryland's Acting Secretary of Higher Education, to see what Maryland was up to for its potential 63,000 students graduating this year! Dr. Rai explains how the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) can help those students and many others pursuing various post-secondary learning options! But for the nuts and bolts of FAFSA and the new Maryland One-App, we sit down with Al Dorsett, who is the Director for the Office of Student Financial Assistance (or, as I like to say, the man who makes sure the money flows). Al explains the deadlines, the changes, and the critical steps students need to take to ensure they get as much aid as they can for their education--after all, college is not getting any cheaper! And MHEC has a lot of money, at least $130 million per year! This is a must-listen for any high school junior or senior and their parents or guardians! Have a listen! Townhall Review – January 27, 2024 Joe Piscopo turned to Hogan Gidley—who served as deputy press secretary under Trump to discuss the significance of Donald Trump winning both Iowa and New Hampshire, traditionally challenging for Republicans, showcasing Trump's unique appeal and influence within the GOP. Mark Davis and Texas Senator John Cornyn discuss the actions taken by Texas Governor Abbott to secure the border using the Texas National Guard, while the Biden administration is doing all it can to keep the border open. Hugh Hewitt questions Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn about why the Republican Party would compromise on border legislation, expressing concern about the lack of border security provisions in the proposal, in particular a border wall. Hugh Hewitt and Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton criticize the Biden administration's shift on Israel, attributing it to Biden's loss of political support among the far-left anti-Semitic wing of the Democratic Party. Joe Piscopo and Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis discuss the significance of U.S. military bases being attacked by terrorists, arguing that the Biden administration's Middle East strategy has encouraged Iranian aggression. Victor Davis Hanson and Kash Patel, who served as Chief of Staff to Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller in the Trump administration, discuss Iran funding terror and why Biden's designation of the Houthi Rebels as Specially Designated Global Terrorists is largely useless.
