They also break down how the course and weather could impact the outcome before diving into the women's and men's fields and sharing their podium picks and golden ticket predictions.*Note - we recorded this episode 9 days before the race, so we apologize in advance for not being able to factor last-minute entrants between then and now into our analysis and predictions.Partners:Norda - check out the 005: the lightest, fastest, most stable trail racing shoe ever made (https://nordarun.com/)Gorewear - use code SINGLETRACKPOD30 at checkout on their website to get 30% off your purchase.Naak - use code SINGLETRACK20 at checkout on their website (https://www.naak.com/) to get 20% off your purchase.Raide - Making equipment for efficient human-powered movement in the mountains (https://raideresearch.com/)Additional Links:Follow Leah on Instagram, Strava, TwitterFollow Brett on Instagram, Strava, YoutubeFollow Finn on Instagram, Strava, YoutubeSupport the show

Text us your thoughts about this episode or ideas for future episodes! We've got another classic edition of the Long Run Archives on deck, but it's been a minute. We've been fully immersed in all things Barkley Marathons, working hard to bring a few key projects to the finish line. Two big shoutouts here:First, The Finisher, a long-form documentary about Jasmin Paris' three-year journey to become the first female finisher at the Barkley. Huge credit and gratitude to Jules Campanelli, Drew Darby, and Rob Fisher, who worked tirelessly to bring this piece to life. We wrapped it up in great form last week.Second, we turned around a 2025 Barkley recap vlog to get a window in this year's event as quickly as possible. That's now live on the Singletrack YouTube channel, thanks to the excellent work of my friend and colleague, Roo Smith.Anyways, in this edition of the Long Run Archives, Brett and I chat all things Big Alta, Chianti, Barkley, and Crown King before closing with the best stuff we found on the internet this week. Text us your thoughts about this episode or ideas for future episodes! In this episode, I'm joined by ultrarunning filmmaker Dylan Harris for a special conversation.Dylan is the director of an upcoming film called "The Chase", which tells the story of the epic six-way battle for victory at the 2024 Cocodona 250, featuring Jeff Browning, Harry Subertas, Michael Versteeg, Joe McConaughy, Arlen Glick, and Michael McKnight. We've had almost all of these guys on the pod before — some of my favorite characters in the sport — and it was incredible to see how this film captured the unique blend of their personalities and racing styles at a premier multi-day event like Cocodona. In this conversation, Dylan and I start and finish by discussing the potential for more content like this in the ultrarunning space, which was awesome. Think you can't run a 100 mile ultra? Well the truth is....you absolutely can! Especially if you read this awesome new book by Jen Benson. This lunch we had such a lovely chat to Jen about 'The Path We Run', which charts the ups and downs of her 100 mile journey, with advice and inspiration along the way from ultra running greats and experts like Courtney Dauwalter, Jasmin Paris, Beth Pascall, Lucy Bartholemew and more. It's a great read, wonderfully written with some fascinating insights. For example, did you know, Courtney DNFed her first 100 miler? There are lots of great tips and bits of advice in our chat, but even more in the book, so pop it on your Christmas list NOW! Thanks for the lovely chat again Jen, it's always really great to connect with you...and maybe I'll do a 100 miler one day.......Originally on YouTube here https://youtube.com/live/FtjZvT_7C3cBuy The Path We Runhttps://amzn.to/4fjbby1Buy more of Jen and Sim's books!https://amzn.to/4dSmhc0Live broadcast and podcast sponsors are Naak Sports Nutrition! For runners, going through injuries can be incredibly tough. It takes away one of the things we love the most, while also putting us in a place where we need to rebuild physically and mentally to get to where we were before. But, it is possible to come back stronger than ever from injury. And even though it may be hard, trusting the process and being diligent with your recovery is something that can be implemented day by day. For Jazmine Lowther, she bounced back from injury not only to return to running; but to also win her first major race back: the Speedgoat 50K, which is a highly competitive mountain race. Throughout the rehab process, Jazmine learned to trust herself, her recovery, and the build back. And it allowed her to not only get through her injury, but to also come back strong to her old self. In this episode, Jazmine shares how she came back from injury to set herself up for success at Speedgoat. We also chat about how she dialed in her training, nutrition, and strategy for the race. On top of that, we also discuss how to avoid RED-S in training, preparation for a mountain race like the UTMB finals, and how to dial your mindset in to take on tough challenges. Huge thank you to Jazmine for coming on the show! SHOW LINKS: Want to work with me to help you crush your ultrarunning goals? Can you run ultramarathons, even if you don't have any traditional running background? You bet! And Kaleb Stephens is a great example of that. Not only has he completed 13 ultramarathons, but he did that within a 4 year span, coming from a low point in his life where he dealt with depression and wasn't running frequently. His key to success? Not wanting to live a life on others' terms. And that has driven him to finish the Cocodona 250 miler, run a sub-20 hour 100 miler at Javelina Jundred, and also complete multiple ultramarathons. And in this episode, Kaleb shares his story on how he was able to make progress in his running journey, how you can find a running community in your life (even if you don't have runners around you), and how to use doubt as a fuel source to power your biggest dreams. Kaleb Stephens is an ultrarunner, content creator, coach, and community advocate who has amassed the following of tens of thousands of runners. And his mission is to help inspire others to live a life worth living. Huge thank you to Kaleb for coming on the show! Chas Adams is came to me in Dec. of 2023 with the goal of completing the Pennsylvania Triple Crown of Ultras (Hyner 50k, World's End 100k, & Eastern States 100-miler). He is two-thirds of the way there having just completed World's End 100k. This episode is about his journey and frankly his struggle to complete World's End having run the race in 2019 and having an awful experience.
