On today's show, we chat with two time guest, Ben Fuller!Music has taken Ben Fuller's life and made it into something he never would have dreamed. Ben grew up in Southern Vermont on his family dairy farm working along-side his father. He'd pass the time by singing classic country tunes as he witnessed first-hand the hard work and dedication it took to run a farm.  After generations of hurt in his family, Ben turned to cocaine and alcohol at a young age. Motivated to change, he moved to Nashville to pursue a career as a country singer in late 2018. A family friend invited Ben over for a meal and then to church the next morning, where he was radically transformed by the power of God. Today, Ben lives completely sober, while sharing his story of hope, redemption, and healing in Jesus' Name through his songs. Ben was nominated for the 2023 K-LOVE Fan Awards (Breakout Single of The Year - “Who I Am”) and the 2023 Dove Awards (New Artist of the Year). In 2024, he was nominated for the Dove Award for Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year (“If I Got Jesus”). His debut single, “Who I Am” went #1 on multiple Christian radio charts, while “If I Got Jesus” has amassed over 48M streams as well as 1.4B short form views and 2.1M creations on TikTok.  Additionally, Ben has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and the CMA Festival, and has toured with Casting Crowns, Zach Williams, Big Daddy Weave, CAIN, We Are Messengers, and others.Provident Entertainment and chart-topping singer-songwriter Ben Fuller are excited to announce the release of his highly anticipated new album, Walk ThroughFire, available worldwide on June 6. The new project features Fuller's most personal and powerful music to date, including the brand-new single, “Since Jesus, ” out today and availableon all streaming platforms.  Written by Ben Fuller, Ethan Hulse, and Sam Martinez, and produced by Martinez, “Since Jesus” is a bold declaration of transformation and faith. Following the success of his previoussingle “If It Was Up To Me” featuring multi-platinum country icon Carrie Underwood, Fuller's latest release showcases his signature blend of vulnerability, authenticity, and soul-stirring conviction.  'Since Jesus' is my favorite track on the album, ” says Fuller,“ and the message is simple: my life has dramatically changed since I met Jesus and the journey He has taken” me on.  Walk Through Firemarks a milestone moment in Fuller's journey, both musically and spiritually.  The record blends elements of rock, classical, and country, and represents Fuller at his most honest and unfiltered. From the first prayer to the final production, he played a hands-on role in every step of the process.  “God walked everywhere when He was on this earth. He was never in a hurry, ” Fuller shares about the album's theme.  “He meets you where you are—whether at your highest high or your lowest low. I'm thankful that I had to walk through fire to get to where I am today. It was time to throw out my old boots, the ones covered in sin and shame, and put on new ones as I started my walk with God."@bendfullerchristianmusicguys.com@christianmusicguys

HazingInfo.org is a partnership between StopHazing, the University of Maine, and the University of Washington Information School, along with founders Jolayne Houtz and Hector Martinez, who lost their son, Sam, to hazing in 2019. Sam Martinez was a 19-year-old business student at Washington State University in 2019 when he was hazed to death just weeks into his freshman year. Sam was funny and spontaneous, a loyal friend, a gifted athlete, a youth coach and a loving son and brother. Jolayne and Hector launched HazingInfo.org in partnership with students from the University of Washington Information School to ensure incoming college students and their families have current, accurate information about student organizations so they can make informed decisions about whether to join. Jolayne and Hector are actively working to change policies at the state and national levels to expand education and training about hazing prevention and to increase transparency about and accountability for hazing incidents. In episode 566 of the Fraternity Foodie Podcast, we find out more about Sam Martinez, what concerns Jolayne had when Sam said he wanted to join a Fraternity, what information Jolayne was able to find about the fraternities on campus through her own research, what happened to Sam on the day he died in 2019, what Jolayne was able to determine from her investigation into hazing reporting, how she felt when the Stop Campus Hazing Act passed into federal law, what are the warning signs of hazing, how we can encourage more college campuses to be transparent about hazing on their campus, how we can get students to come forward and report hazing, how students can honor Sam's memory, and what gives Jolayne hope for the future.

It's transition time. James is moving on to take a pastoral role in his church and The Rich Life Podcast is becoming the Invest In Your Life podcast. Certified Financial Planner Sam Martinez is taking over as the new host of the Invest In Your Life podcast. James is also here to introduce Sam and share what's happening with the show. Sam and James have a conversation about where this podcast came from, what it's turned into, and where it's going.  The podcast is going to look at what it truly is to have a meaningful life. Money is more than math and figures. It's about emotion, relationships, dreams, and fears. James talks about how important it is to have a different conversation about money and what that would like. They stress the importance of investing in our lives and not just the stock market. We hope you love the new show.    Episode Highlights:  [01:55] James introduces us to Sam Martinez who is going to be the host of an even better podcast from Wealthquest. It's better because we are going to do a deep dive into what it looks like to truly invest in a meaningful life.  [02:24] James is transitioning from Wealthquest to a pastoral role at his church. He'll still be around. He's on the board and will be a guest on the podcast. [02:55] Sam is a certified financial planner, a husband, and an all-around great guy. He's passionate about many of the same things as James. [04:09] James shares his original vision when beginning the podcast. He didn't want the conversation about money to only be about math, facts & figures, and tax laws. Money is hard because it's emotional and relational. It's where our dreams and fears collide. [04:43] The original intent was to get the client used to the industry talking differently. [05:10] Clients want to talk about the things that matter more and that are closer to their heart and that they understand. [06:26] Sam is excited to continue the conversation. He loves being a part of client stories.  [07:22] He also loves telling the Wealthquest story. [07:54] It's important to get serious on how to invest in our lives, not just investing in the stock market. [08:53] The podcast is going to continue to tell stories and help people do the research to simplify their financial lives. [09:08] Wealthquest has many smart people on the team who are going to come on the podcast and have a conversation with Sam.  [11:10] How the Wealthquest model allows people to invest in their life. [13:55] Wealth takes time. Don't get in money's way and let it do what it does. [16:35] James shares a story about a couple who decided to invest in their child's fertility journey. [17:14] Another client took an epic trip with her kids and their spouses to Iceland. [18:30] James and his family are in an adventure season, and they're going on massive hikes. They also discuss finances as a family and help others.  [21:29] James will be back on the podcast.   Resources & Links Related to this Episode Wealthquest Get Started Living a Rich Life: The No-Regrets Guide to Building and Spending Wealth Sam Martinez
