On today's show, we chat with two time guest, Ben Fuller!Music has taken Ben Fuller's life and made it into something he never would have dreamed. Ben grew up in Southern Vermont on his family dairy farm working along-side his father. He'd pass the time by singing classic country tunes as he witnessed first-hand the hard work and dedication it took to run a farm.  After generations of hurt in his family, Ben turned to cocaine and alcohol at a young age. Motivated to change, he moved to Nashville to pursue a career as a country singer in late 2018. A family friend invited Ben over for a meal and then to church the next morning, where he was radically transformed by the power of God. Today, Ben lives completely sober, while sharing his story of hope, redemption, and healing in Jesus' Name through his songs. Ben was nominated for the 2023 K-LOVE Fan Awards (Breakout Single of The Year - “Who I Am”) and the 2023 Dove Awards (New Artist of the Year). In 2024, he was nominated for the Dove Award for Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year (“If I Got Jesus”). His debut single, “Who I Am” went #1 on multiple Christian radio charts, while “If I Got Jesus” has amassed over 48M streams as well as 1.4B short form views and 2.1M creations on TikTok.  Additionally, Ben has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and the CMA Festival, and has toured with Casting Crowns, Zach Williams, Big Daddy Weave, CAIN, We Are Messengers, and others.Provident Entertainment and chart-topping singer-songwriter Ben Fuller are excited to announce the release of his highly anticipated new album, Walk ThroughFire, available worldwide on June 6. The new project features Fuller's most personal and powerful music to date, including the brand-new single, “Since Jesus, ” out today and availableon all streaming platforms.  Written by Ben Fuller, Ethan Hulse, and Sam Martinez, and produced by Martinez, “Since Jesus” is a bold declaration of transformation and faith. Following the success of his previoussingle “If It Was Up To Me” featuring multi-platinum country icon Carrie Underwood, Fuller's latest release showcases his signature blend of vulnerability, authenticity, and soul-stirring conviction.  'Since Jesus' is my favorite track on the album, ” says Fuller,“ and the message is simple: my life has dramatically changed since I met Jesus and the journey He has taken” me on.  Walk Through Firemarks a milestone moment in Fuller's journey, both musically and spiritually.  The record blends elements of rock, classical, and country, and represents Fuller at his most honest and unfiltered. From the first prayer to the final production, he played a hands-on role in every step of the process.  “God walked everywhere when He was on this earth. He was never in a hurry, ” Fuller shares about the album's theme.  “He meets you where you are—whether at your highest high or your lowest low. I'm thankful that I had to walk through fire to get to where I am today. It was time to throw out my old boots, the ones covered in sin and shame, and put on new ones as I started my walk with God."@bendfullerchristianmusicguys.com@christianmusicguys

For over 50 years, For the Strength of Youth has been a guide for generations of Latter-day Saint youth. I always keep a copy in my pocket, and I share it with people who are curious about our standards. It has been updated and refreshed to better cope with the challenges and temptations of our day. The new version of For the Strength of Youth is available online in 50 different languages and will also be available in print. It will be a significant help for making choices in your life. Please embrace it as your own and share it with your friends. This new version of For the Strength of Youth is subtitled A Guide for Making Choices. To be very clear, the best guide you can possibly have for making choices is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the strength of youth. So the purpose of For the Strength of Youth is to point you to Him. It teaches you eternal truths of His restored gospel—truths about who you are, who He is, and what you can accomplish with His strength. It teaches you how to make righteous choices based on those eternal truths.13 It's also important to know what For the Strength of Youth does not do. It doesn't make decisions for you. It doesn't give you a “yes” or “no” about every choice you might ever face. For the Strength of Youth focuses on the foundation for your choices. It focuses on values, principles, and doctrine instead of every specific behavior. The Lord, through His prophets, has always been guiding us in that direction. He is pleading with us to “increase [our] spiritual capacity to receive revelation.”14 He is inviting us to “hear Him.”15 He is calling us to follow Him in higher and holier ways.16 And we are learning in a similar way every week in Come, Follow Me.   For a list of 100+ episodes of ACU Sunday Series visit- https://www.podbean.com/site/search/index?kdsowie31j4k1jlf913=85cb8104bdb182c048b714ad4385f9e82a3aeb49&v=ACU+Sunday+Series+ Note- Click on “100 Episodes Found” in upper right corner. --------------------------------------------------------------------    HELP ACU SPREAD THE WORD!  Please go to Apple Podcasts and give ACU a 5 star rating. Below is the official press release and all available links. NEWS SOURCE: Biscuit Media GroupApril 18, 2024 Nashville, TN — April 18, 2024. Kate Stanford, an emerging powerhouse in Christian music, is thrilled to announce the release of her latest single, "Stand on Your Promises." Produced by Sam Hart, known for his exceptional work with artists such as Big Daddy Weave, Meredith Andrews, Unspoken, and Sanctus Real, “Stand on Your Promises” is available tomorrow, April 19, on all major streaming platforms. "Stand on Your Promises is an anthem of hope,” explains Stanford. “What originally inspired this song was my struggle with both physical and emotional pain. I have dealt with chronic migraines for the past year and could not get out of bed. This led me to be depressed and hopeless. But even in my darkest times, Jesus met me every step of the way. He answered my prayers and brought me out of the darkness. He gave me joy and hope and provided me with community here in Nashville. I want listeners to know that whatever they may be going through, it will get better. Stand on His promises and He will make a way for you.” Following Stanford's 2023 release, "Your Heart," which was produced by two-time GRAMMY nominee Cindy Morgan, comes the latest single. Kate's unmistakable vocals and Sam Hart's unparalleled production expertise make "Stand on Your Promises" a must-listen for fans of uplifting and inspiring music. A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Stanford's musical journey began at a young age, singing as both a classically trained singer and a contemporary artist. As many know, Christmas is a time of wonder and worship! However, the reality is that it's not always easy to make the choice to rejoice when your in the midst of hardship and suffering. Often times the holidays remind us that grief cannot be wished away. You see, although grieving the loss of a loved one is a deep and difficult challenge at any time, the holiday season can magnify our sense of loss and sorrow. Seasonal events can be painful reminders of the absence of loved ones, but at the same time, we can also incorporate comforting rituals where we connect with family and friends, focusing on good memories and trying to recapture our sense of joy. Joining us today is a dear friend who understands the pain, process, and magnitude of grief. Our guest today is world renowned Christian singer, songwriter, and lead vocalist of the band, Big Daddy Weave, Mike Weaver! In and throughout today's conversation, you'll hear Mike's very real, authentic, and vulnerable journey as he continues to process his grief following the loss of his brother, Jay. However, our prayer throughout this episode is that you would be reminded to hold fast and cling tight to God's promises even in the midst of life's processes. Life may be hard. It may be difficult. And it for sure can be painful. But praise God we get to rest in the truth of Luke 2:10-11, “Fear not, for behold I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” My friends, no matter what you may be going through during this Christmas season, you're never alone as the true reason for the season is always in your midst. Big Daddy Weave's website: https://bigdaddyweave.com/ God Is In This Story music video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryD3D9X2myk

Endorsed Charities -------------------------------------------------------- Pre-Born! Brenton Brown is a smart and capable person. Awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to study politics and philosophy at Oxford University, he would have every reason to believe himself strong enough to conquer every obstacle in life. But in 2003, both he and his wife were diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. A debilitating condition, this also led him to co-write the well known praise song: Everlasting God. Brenton has worked with just about every big name in Christian music, including the Gettys, Big Daddy Weave, Stuart Townend, Chris Tomlin, and more. He was a high achieving person who's future was stifled by illness. And yet, for a man struggling through chronic fatigue, Scriptures describing an everlasting God who will not become faint or grow weary were exactly what he needed to get through the day. It turns out, we all need this everlasting God. In this episode of the Great Stories Podcast (originally recorded in 2013), you'll hear more of the story behind this song, as well as a conversation concerning the worship wars within the church.

As we explore the simplicity of love this week, today we'll look at how God's love has redeemed us. There is an amazing Brennan Manning quote that says, “In loving me, you made me lovable.” And that is basically the concept we'll be unpacking today. God's love has come in and given us meaning, beauty, redemption, and purpose. It is through God loving us that we become sons and daughters; we become saints. I hope today you'll open your heart up to this life-changing love, and never be the same again. Our Scripture for today comes from Psalm 130:7, and today's worship is Redeemed by Big Daddy Weave. -- When you trust Christ as your savior and Lord, you begin a relationship that extends into eternity.  However, eternity doesn't start in heaven, and you don't have to wait until then to experience a full life in Christ.   The truth is that we as Christians are called to invest in our relationship with God in this life as well as in the life to come.    And that means becoming more like Christ every single day.    In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus provided a systematic ethic for how to be his disciples.         It was a relatively short sermon, but God's truth in that message has never stopped reverberating throughout the world.   Our latest book, The Path to Purpose delves into the timeless wisdom of Jesus' most famous sermon, the Sermon on the Mount. St Augustine described the sermon as “a perfect standard for the Christian life.”   While we may doubt ourselves from ever achieving such “a perfect standard,” Jesus' central message in his Sermon on the Mount helps us see that standard not as a burden but rather as a source of freedom, purpose, and a guide for living beautifully.   To know more about God's calling on your life, request your copy today of The Path to Purpose: Christ's Vision for Your Life in the Sermon on the Mount, at supportfirst15.org.

On this Freedom Friday, YOLO can have a whole new meaning as a believer. In Christ, we have only one life here on earth, but we have a promise of eternity with God! If we only have one life here, what are we doing different in living for the kingdom? The scripture reference was Hebrews 9:27-28.   Happy New Year!! I'm Craig Denison, author and founder of First15.  A growing relationship with God comes when you experience him every day. So thank you so much for starting your year with us.  I've got a really exciting announcement with what you can expect from First15 this year.  One is, we're expanding the writers that are contributing to the daily devotionals. There will still be a lot of content written by me, but this month we're kicking the year off with a focus on spiritual awakening actually written by my Dad, Jim Denison. He's one of the smartest and most heart-felt people I've ever known. It was a privilege growing up with him as a father. And I'm really excited for you to get to experience God with his content as a guide this month.  Along with some new content, you'll hear a new voice on the podcast reading the days devotional. That'll help give consistency to your experience with God, not making First15 about the author, but about creating space for God to fill.  Happy New Year. May God bless you as you seek him this morning, and every morning.   --   As we continue our first week of the new year, today we're going to look at how God redeems all that he allows. Each of us faces difficult seasons in our lives, but thankfully, God does not abandon us there. Even today, even now, God is working to redeem our pain and heartache for his glory and our good.   Our Scripture for today comes from Romans 8:28-29, and today's worship is I Am Redeemed by Big Daddy Weave.

Do you ever feel like your world is spinning so fast and you just aren't quite sure how to get off this roller coaster called life? It's like…how did I even get here in the first place. The teen years can be full of school, homework, jobs, sports, afterschool activities, church, family, friends…it's honestly not surprising that we sometimes…or all the time…feel overwhelmed, stressed out, anxious…and yes, a lack of motivation. Too much can lead us to a not so fun place called overwhelm where we don't even want to get out of bed anymore. You just want to throw the blankets over your head and go back to sleep for days. We lack motivation to do even the simplest of tasks. I remember hitting a time like this in my life. My life was spinning so fast that it seemed like every time I turned a corner something big was changing in my life. I finally hit a point where I didn't even know what side was up. I remember singing Big Daddy Weave's song, “Overwhelmed” all the time. Now, when Big Daddy Weave wrote that song, he was talking about how he was overwhelmed by how amazing our God is…for me…I would change the lyrics and sing it about my life. One lyric in the song says, “I'm overwhelmed. I'm overwhelmed by you.” Yep…that was me. I had hit major overwhelm and praise God, he helped me to overcome and step into real freedom. Do I still have a lot going on in my life…yes. However, I am no longer overwhelmed like I was before. Now, do I fight off the feeling of overwhelm from time to time, yes. I would be lying if I said I didn't. But now, I find that if I am fighting overwhelm, I know that it no longer has power over my life.  There will be times in your life when there will be a lot going on. That may be your life right now. So, with all that's going on, how do we keep from hitting that place called overwhelm? And let me say this, too, maybe your schedule isn't super busy, but there are some big things that maybe you and or your family are walking through and it's causing you to be in a place of overwhelm, these things can help you as well. Psalm 61:1-4 talks about a time where King David hit that place of overwhelm...maybe you've been in a similar place. He's crying out to God and saying, “Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint…or overwhelmed.” Then he says, “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge (or my hiding place), a strong tower against my enemy." One thing David understands is that when he's feeling overwhelmed, all he has to do is get with God and he knows that God will guide him out of that place. I love verse 2 where it says, “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Have you ever been to the mountains and you were standing at the bottom of a cliff. You look up and all you see is this massive mountain that's in front of you. There is no telling what's on the other side of that mountain. When we turn to God in that place of overwhelm, it's like God picks us up and places us on the peak of that mountain…I hope you aren't afraid of heights…and now we can see with a much clearer perspective what is on the other side. That's what God wants to do for you. So practically speaking, what does that look like when it seems like our world is spinning so fast. How do we step out of that place of overwhelm. Check out this week's episode of the UncommonTEEN Podcast!Connect with Us!Website: UncommonTEEN.comInstagram: @uncommon.teenUncommonTEEN App: UncommonTEENapp.comJoin us LIVE on Instagram on Friday evenings at 9pm Central for a Live Q&A with Coach Jamie!

This week the Bow Tie Guy takes a look at how to change our nouns. In recovery it is important to change the people, places, and things that we do and spent time with in order to stay sober. That means we need to change our nouns! The Song of the Week is from Katie Nichole and Big Daddy Weave. You can support the ministry financially by texting the word "MuM" to 760- WALLS-CA.

Every time they turned around, Jesus confounded the religious elite. They thought they knew how a man of God should act, especially with whom he should associate. It's surprising how God shows up in the narratives of Scripture. In Katy Nichole and Big Daddy Weave's song "God Is In This Story," we are reminded that he also shows up in the broken stories, just like His Son. Join me this week as we explore a large chunk of Genesis with our antenna up for how everything affects the story of Judah and Tamar. Spoiler alert: their stories directly affect our own. In this week's episode, I discuss the following: Taking a B.I.T.E. out of Scripture - this week's Bible Interaction Tool Exercises include: Read in context Set a timer and read for a set period rather than a set number of verses or chapters Read and keep on reading Focus on a theme Use your imagination Consult an outside resource The book I'm writing and all that I'm learning about writing a good story God's involvement in the details of our story, even when it doesn't seem like it Interacting with the great ancient narratives of Scripture - Genesis 25-50 Big Daddy Weave and Katy Nichole's thoughts on the song - TheChristianBeat.org Article Judah and Tamar's story - Genesis 38 Understanding Judah's backstory to put "flesh" on him in this story (back up to Genesis 25) Using our imagination to translate what we do know about Judah and Tamar and the culture into possible/probable feelings and brokenness A fly-over of Genesis 25 through our focus story in Genesis 38 Accessing the imagination of Francine Rivers through her novella on Tamar found in her compilation book "A Lineage of Grace" - Amazon Paid Link   I want us to study a story found in Scripture that by all accounts you would say there's NO WAY Jesus is in this story. Today's show was all about changes for the better as we discussed technology, life changes and healthy changes.  Bill got us started with sharing a text from a listener who was able to listen via her smart speaker.  Carmen then shared the happy news that Bart Millard's son is engaged. That reminded Dave of the time he supported Mike Weaver of Big Daddy Weave with his own engagement.  Dave told us about some surprising innovations from KFC and then we discussed the ways...
