Hey there fellow nerds and geeks! Aaron Nabus here and thank you for tuning into the Hall H Show! For those of you that go to numerous comic conventions throughout the year, you know the benefits of being physically fit, especially at the bigger cons like New York Comic Con and especially San Diego Comic-Con…where I've easily walked over 32 miles the last few years. But don't take my word for it. On this episode of the Hall H Show, my co-host Alex Benedicto and I caught up with a few of the active members of the SDCCfit family…a growing community of like minded geeks that continually motivate and support each other to be fitter so we can all have a better con experience! We welcome: Jeff Mueller, The Might Jerd – he is an actor, martial artist and co-host of the Geek Fitness Matters podcast. Karma from the blog Second Union. Kevin Walwyn, the current Editor in Chief of the Friends of Comic Con blog. Stephanie and Brian Gray from the Horror News Network. Recorded on the last day of San Diego Comic-Con 2017, we cover a few topics such as why the SDCCfit movement is important, what each of us did to get SDCCfit for this year's comic-con, tips for a better con experience – especially since you do spend a lot of money coming to a SDCC, we even talk about our favorite vegetables and of course what's a Hall H Show without a Thunder Round! Also, since it was the last day of San Diego Comic-Con, we all share a few of our highlights. Hopefully this podcast will not only help you get in better shape for San Diego Comic Con (or any con) but it will also help you be #SDCCfit for life. Enjoy!
Bowser and Jess are coming to you live from San Diego Comic-Con 2017!
At San Diego Comic-Con 2017, we were lucky enough to catch up with Ureaus, creator of the "Black Heroes Matter" movement, just minutes after the Black Heroes Matter flash mob. We first met Uraeus at SDCC 2016, when we hosted an artist meet and greet for some of our favorite artists. He is a Maryland based writer and created Black Heroes Matter movement after feeling a need to bring awareness of how important minority representation is within the pop culture and comic book worlds, especially after the recent events of the past couple of years. The movement has experienced incredible growth, Uraeus only brought about 20 “Black Heroes Matter” shirts to last year's Comic-Con. After just one year, Black Heroes Matter has started to garner national and international attention. On this episode, some of the topics we discussed were the importance of San Diego Comic-Con and how it's such a great opportunity to network, how his trip to Egypt in 2004 inspired him to start his own comic book creation journey, his other projects – such as his adapted screenplay for his comic, Indigo which is currently being shopped around, and of course Black Heroes Matter where you can “make a statement without saying a word.” Enjoy!

Ever wonder what would happen if Calvin and Hobbes grew up in Sin City? Writer David Pepose did just that with his comic book, Spencer & Locke – which is also co-created and drawn by Jorge Santiago, Jr. and published by Action Lab Comics. I was blown away after reading all four issues! And can't wait for the movie! Oh wait, I was so excited that I jumped the gun! We caught up with David at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 and on this interview, we not only get some insight behind the development of Spencer & Locke, but we learn what comics books influenced his journey into becoming a writer, we find out he ignored the creative itch for a long time and started writing Spencer and Locke on a dare and we also discuss some possible actors for the possible Spencer & Locke movie adaptation (fingers crossed). He also gave some great answers in our Thunder Round! I'm sure glad he scratched that creative itch and that he graciously took time to talk with us at SDCC…because Spencer & Locke is one badass comic book. We hope you enjoy our conversation with David Pepose!

Our first-ever journey to San Diego Comic Con took a lot out of us, whether you measure that by energy (and therefore why it took us over 2 weeks to add this final podcast) or by stuff (RIP our digital recorder). But did we have fun? You bet we did! This first trip to the BIGGEST Con, however, was as much a learning experience as it was a good time. To that end, we wanted to record this wrap-up to both discuss the various things we saw (tons of Hall H panels, but also some other things) and to provide some useful information for people that are planning to be first-timers themselves. One of the very few audio recordings that made it out of Comic Con alive, we're happy to bring you a short interview with an incredible artist! Christopher Clark was doing some painting right there on the exhibit hall floor, and when we saw the vast array of amazing, nerdy art that he and his cohorts were offering, we had to stop and talk to him. He very graciously took some time to tell us more about his work, and also offered some great advice for aspiring artists. Visit him on his website, where you can learn more about him and view portfolio of both pop-culture- and classically-inspired works! The Felix Comic Art Podcast visits San Diego Comic Con 2017 where we talk to arguably the most influential person in the original art market, co-founder of Hertiage Auctions, Jim Halperin. Jim is a major comic art collector in his own right, but on this day, we focus on Heritage and its impact on the comic art market. All auction houses tout record prices achieved...but what about potential market manipulation or shilling? Jim doesn't shy away from any of it. If you've been curious about what goes on behind the curtain at auction houses, this episode is a must-listen. Thanks to Jim for being so game! In addition, part 2 is a bonus section from SDCC where we catch up with some former guests Satya Chetri, Gene Park, Ron Sonenthal, Lambert Sheng, and Andy Robbins! Hello fellow nerds and geeks, Aaron Nabus here and one of my favorite comic books at the moment is Silver, by Stephan Franck. How lucky it was for me to get a chance to interview him at the Dark Planet Comics booth at San Diego Comic-Con 2017 for the Hall H Show podcast! Besides talking about his noir comic book about treasure hunters looking for vampire silver, in the 1930's, we discussed his childhood growing up in France and his love for comic books…especially when comic books from the United States were finally allowed into the country in the late 70's, how the movie Heavy Metal was a huge influence at age 13, his love for Will Eisner and his comic book The Spirit, and how he parlayed his cinematic experience as an animator on films such as The Iron Giant and Space Jam into his new endeavor, the very striking comic book, Silver. Speaking of Silver, the Kickstarter campaign for Volume 3 ends on Thursday, August 10 2017 10:00 AM. PDT. What do conmen and vampires have in common? Find out on this Hall H Show exclusive interview with Stephan Franck!
Guest hosts Christina and Melissa talk to Leigh Bardugo, the #1 New York Times bestselling and USA Today bestselling author of Six of Crows, Crooked Kingdom, the Grisha Trilogy, and the upcoming Wonder Woman: Warbringer.

We are back and recovered from San Diego Comic Con 2017. SDCC is a show we’ve attended more than almost any other, and yet this year it seemed, I don’t know… bigger. More oppressive. More willing to empty your wallet and leave you for dead, while showing you genre spectacle you couldn’t get with an all access […]
