Affable Englishman Rob Goldstone was literally in the room for the infamous Trump Tower Meeting, and he was with Donald Trump the weekend of the mythical "pee tape". But when you look at the rest of the characters involved in the Trump/Russia saga - Republican operatives, Trump family members and Russian spies - Rob Goldstone seems like the odd man out. He puts a lot of his story down to accidents and misunderstandings, but is that all there is to it? You can get a link to the full interview on our website.

Erik Prince, the founder and CEO of the world’s most notorious mercenary company, Blackwater, landed in hot water during an interview with Mehdi Hasan at the Oxford Union in the U.K. Prince repeatedly claimed to have disclosed an August 2016 meeting at Trump Tower to the House Intelligence Committee—a claim not backed up by the official transcripts of his testimony before congress. On this week’s show, Mehdi Hasan speaks with Jeremy Scahill, author of Blackwater: The Rise of the World's Most Powerful Mercenary Army, and to Congressman Joaquin Castro, who sits on the House Intelligence Committee, about the possible fallout from Prince’s contradictory statements.

Scott interviews Rob Goldstone about his testimony to Special Counsel Mueller’s grand jury and Congressional investigators where he talks about his email to Donald Trump Jr. whose revelation changed the face of American politics. Goldstone wrote a book entitled, “Pop Stars, Pageants & Presidents: How An Email Trumped My Life,” about himself and his time as a professional publicist for Russian pop star Emin Agalarov, whose father brought Trump’s Miss Universe Pageant to Moscow in 2013 and who was the ultimate source of the request for a meeting at Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential election. Rob Goldstone answered every question we asked him, and he had no prompting of what we would ask; one of our questions left him speechless. Click here to donate to the Dworkin Report. Russian President Vladimir Putin in July, singled out American-born businessman Bill Browder at a joint press conference in Helsinki, Finland. Putin, standing alongside President Trump, named Browder and his business dealings. Browder was the largest foreign investor in Russia until he was arrested in 2005 and expelled from the country. His corporate documents were seized by Russian authorities, he says, and the young lawyer he hired to investigate—Sergei Magnitsky—was arrested and died in prison. Seeking justice, Browder lobbied for the Magnitsky Act, which he says prevents “Russian torturers and murderers” from using America’s banking system. In this discussion with CNN’s Suzanne Malveaux, Browder talks about the Helsinki summit, the infamous Trump Tower meeting, and why he says he’s not afraid of Putin. This discussion was held on July 27th at the Resnick Aspen Action Forum in Aspen, Colorado. Show Notes Listen to the Aspen Ideas to Go episode, CRISPR: A Crack in Creation.
