As of today over 1,500 individuals had been arrested, including many non-violent offenders, raising concerns about the proportionality and fairness of the department's actions. Many of those arrested for January 6th-related charges face accusations of non-violent offenses, such as trespassing, unlawful entry, or disorderly conduct. Despite the absence of violence in their alleged actions, the Justice Department has deployed heavily armed SWAT teams to conduct arrests—measures typically reserved for high-risk individuals. These aggressive operations have disrupted families and communities, leading critics to accuse the DOJ of overreach and prioritizing political messaging over the principles of justice.Trennis Evans, is a January 6th Expert, he pled guilty to one misdemeanor charge of entering a restricted building & he is forced to serve out his sentence in jail where he is held in solitary confinement for a few days at a time. The Special Relationship is based on lack. It's premise is something like this: "I do not have everything I need to be a whole person; I need you to fill my lack, and if you do that I will "love" you, but if you don't I will "hate" you." It is very "treacherous" as this Section II of Chapter 24 points out. We compare and assess with judgments that come only from our perspective. We use others to "save" us, but not in the sense of complete forgiveness, but rather in a self-projected deficiency in ourselves that the "special" person is supposed to fill. In this "special person," the hole we feel in ourselves is held out as their "responsibility" to correct, never our own actions of self-correction. "Specialness" is a projection of guilt. Both onto ourself, and onto the "special person" who is "guilty" for not fixing us. Specialness is in fact very treacherous. We are not hearing the Holy Spirit is the Great "corrector" inside of us. It is our own responsibility to see our Wholeness, and embrace our Self as God Created us, Who is always unified and connected to everyone and everything. Never is this Self "special."

Your friend Joan was growing 3 cannabis plants in her home in Hawaii, intended as medical marijuana. Just as the mature plants were almost ready for harvest, the heat lamp malfunctioned and caused the crop to burn in a small fire. Joan submitted a claim under her HO policy, and wants to know if coverage is available. Notable Timestamps [ 00:16 ] - Joan's plants were valued at $2,000 each, and she wants to know if there is any coverage under 2011 ISO HO3. [ 01:19 ] - Tim, Mike, and Alissha banter about Superbowl squares, “medical” marijuana, and the Ohio legislature. [ 03:03 ] - The plant may seem permanent, but you would probably take it with you, so it likely wouldn't be considered part of the “dwelling.” [ 04:20 ] - The policy may have Additional Coverage for trees, shrubs, and plants limited to $500 per plant, but that would only be triggered under Coverage A and B after the plants were considered to fall under the “Land” exclusion. This claim falls under Coverage C, which would not apply the $500 per plant cap. [ 05:20 ] - But isn't marijuana illegal? Section II excludes controlled substances, but Section I does not, and there's no “illegal property” exclusion there. CP and BP forms also exclude contraband. [ 06:12 ] - There are a couple of hidden exclusions, namely a social implication that what you're insuring is lawful property. [ 07:45 ] - The group discusses the uncertain legality of marijuana. [ 09:46 ] - Another “hidden exclusion” is fortuity - insurance doesn't cover “costs.” [ 10:40 ] - Joan's cultivation of these plants is legal under Hawaii law. [ 12:30 ] - Tim discusses the split among courts, including Tracy v. USAA Casualty Insurance Co., Civil No. 11-00487 LEK-KSC., 2012 WL 928186 (D. Hawaii 3/16/12) [reviewed at PLRB, Prop. Ins. L. Rev. 8428 (2012)] and Green Earth Wellness Center, LLC v. Atain Specialty Ins. Co., 163 F.Supp.3d 821 (D. Colo. 2/17/16). [ 14:15 ] - The 2022 ISO form specifically excludes cannabis under most situations. [ 16:30 ] - Tim provides a recap of the scenario and the points above. Ask: Tap Into the Hidden Wisdom of People Around You for Unexpected Breakthroughs In Leadership and Life by Jeff Wetzler https://amzn.to/3UWL5cT Globally recognized expert on learning and leadership, Jeff Wetzler offers a hands-on, surprisingly effective way to find out what others really think, know, and feel. Ask leads to smarter decisions, more creative solutions, and deeper relationships. Too often, we don't find out what's truly on others' hearts and minds because we don't know how to ask the right questions in the right ways. Co-founder of Transcend and former international business consultant and Teach for America executive Jeff Wetzler wants to show you how to fix that. In Ask, he brings you a powerful method called The Ask Approach™, based on a simple premise: that tapping into what other people truly think, know, and feel is a game-changing superpower. In Section I, Wetzler reveals the most common things that people think and feel but often keep to themselves, as well as the key reasons why they choose to withhold information that could be valuable to you and your organization. Section II delves into the five steps of the Ask Approach, each answering an essential question: Choose Curiosity: How can you awaken your curiosity to make new discoveries and unexpected connections? Make it Safe: How do you make it easier for people to tell you hard things? Pose Quality Questions: What questions will best tap into the wisdom of anyone you ask? Listen to Learn: How can you hear what someone is really trying to tell you? Reflect & Reconnect: How do you turn talk into action? Section III helps you make asking an everyday superpower – not only for yourself but also for your team and organization, as well as for the next generation and society at large. The skills and messages of Ask could not be more timely. In a fast-changing world where AI is supplanting an increasing range of skills, the ability to learn from and connect with other people is one of the most important, fulfilling and uniquely human capabilities to master.

Haldane goes for the win but falls just short The Haldane High School football team's season ended Nov. 24 when a last-second, two-point conversion failed, leaving the Blue Devils to reflect on a hard-fought 21-20 Class D state semifinal game. The game, played at Middletown High School in Orange County, ended a season of triumph and tragedy for Haldane, the Section I, Class D champs, who finished with an 8-3 record. The Stillwater Warriors (11-1), the Section II, Class D winners out of Saratoga County, will face Tioga in the title game on Saturday (Dec. 2). Tioga (13-0) has won the last two state championships. The semifinal game was decided in its final minute, when Haldane quarterback Ryan Van Tassel found Evan Giachinta in the end zone for a 32-yard touchdown. With 18 seconds left and the Warriors ahead 21-20, Haldane had a decision: kick the extra point and tie the game to send it into overtime, or go for two points and the win. Serigne Faye advances the ball for the Blue Devils against Stillwater. (Photo by Frank Becerra Jr./The Journal News) The Blue Devils went for the latter, and moved almost all of their offensive linemen to the left side. The play didn't fool Stillwater, however, and Van Tassel couldn't get off a good throw. The trick play was one that Haldane had been working on all season. "Earlier in the week, we made the decision that we were going to go for two if we were in a situation like that and we were going to play to win the football game," said Coach Ryan McConville. When it didn't work, the Blue Devils tried a last-ditch onside kick, but it was unsuccessful. With possession of the football, Stillwater took a knee and the win. Haldane had the ball first to start the game, and on the second offensive play, Giachinta burst through a hole and scampered 48 yards for a touchdown, giving the Blue Devils the lead 37 seconds into the game. The Haldane defense swarms a Stillwater runner during the Class D state semifinal. (Photo by Frank Becerra Jr./The Journal News) Once Stillwater took possession, it became apparent that the team was going to rely on the run game and attempt to wear down the Haldane defense. With 8:04 left in the first quarter, an illegal participation penalty on the Blue Devils rescued the Warriors from a fourth-and-2. Moments later, Stillwater running back Jaxon Mueller took it in from 3 yards out. Mueller, who is listed at 6-foot-4 and 232 pounds, proved to be a wrecking machine, finishing with 32 carries for 130 yards and three touchdowns. The scoring drive took 6:41 off the clock. Evan Giachinta (25) races toward the end zone against Stillwater. (Photo by Frank Becerra Jr./The Journal News) After a three-and-out from Haldane's offense, the Warriors marched back down the field. The drive, which began at the end of the first quarter, ended with another touchdown by Mueller, giving Stillwater a 14-7 lead with 10:35 left in the half. The Blue Devils got the ball back and 36 seconds later the game was tied, thanks to Van Tassel's 53-yard rushing touchdown. But Stillwater would keep pounding and once again was in the red zone when Mueller barreled through for a 4-yard touchdown, making the score 21-14 with three minutes left in the half. Stillwater started the second half with the ball and used nearly the entire quarter on one drive. With 1:40 left in the third quarter, it was fourth-and-goal from the 3 and the Warriors were lining up for a field goal. Video by Jeffrey McDaniel A Haldane defender jumped offside, putting the ball at the 1-yard line. Stillwater gave the ball to Mueller on the fourth-and-goal but the Blue Devils' defense held. Haldane then started to move the ball behind Giachinta's rushing, but the drive was interrupted when a Van Tassel pass was intercepted. After trading possessions, Haldane found itself with the ball at midfield with 1:41 left in the game, but Van Tassel was again picked off on a deep throw. Haldane had only one timeout remaining, so all Stillwater had t...

This Sunday we come to the sixth day of the creation week as God fills the earth with life. This text is foundational for understanding who we are as human beings, and for understanding the role God has given to mankind on the earth. We will consider the significance of being created in the image of God, and how this sets humanity apart from all other creatures. In addition, as we see the first Adam's dominion over the earth, and how this points us forward to the glory of the second Adam.In preparation for worship this Sunday, I invite you to read Genesis 1:24-31 and our statement on the doctrine of man (Section III) in our Statement of Faith. Our doctrines of creation, race and ethnicity, the sanctity of life, gender, marriage, sexuality, and family are all undergirded by this foundational text in Genesis 1.In addition, we also invite you to pray for our Men's Retreat as we are currently retreating with the men of Arlington Baptist and Jefferson Park Baptist at Rapidan Baptist Camp. Pray that the Lord would bless our fellowship with one another and our time in 2 Peter. We will return on Saturday afternoon, and I look forward to our whole church family being together this Lord's Day.For His Glory and your joy in Christ,Pastor David--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Discussion & Response Questions (Genesis 1:24-31)What does Genesis 1:24-31 reveal about God as Creator?Read through Genesis 1:24-31 and Section II (the doctrine of man) in our Statement of Faith. We believe that God the Father is the absolute omnipotent ruler of the universe, sovereign in creation, providence, and redemption, a perfect Spirit in Whom is perfect holiness, and infinite wisdom (Psalm 99:6; 103:19, 139:7-12, 147:5, Isaiah 44:24, Malachi 3:6, Matthew 7:7-8, John 4:24, I John 4:8, Romans 11:36). We believe that Jesus Christ is the divine (John 1:1, 10:30, 38, Colossians 2:9), eternal (John 1:2), Son of God (Matthew 3:17, 8:29, 11:27, 16:16, 17:5, Mark 1:1, I John 5:9-12), that He was miraculously conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18-23, Luke 1:34-35, Galatians 4:4), that He perfectly revealed and accomplished the will of God, taking upon Himself the demands and necessities of human nature (Philippians 2:5-8); that He identified Himself completely with mankind (John 1:14, Romans 1:3-4) yet was and remains without sin (I Peter 2:21-23, Hebrews 4:15), that He literally and vicariously died, was buried and raised from the dead (Romans 6:4, 9, I Corinthians 15:4, 20, I Thessalonians 1:10), and that He ascended to heaven (Acts 1:9), and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate (Romans 8:34, Hebrews 9:24, I John 2:1-2). We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, that He convicts the world of sin (John 16:8-11), helps (John 14:16-17, 26) and baptizes all believers into the body of Christ (I Corinthians 12:12-14). We believe that He is the divine Teacher (John 14:26, I John 2:27) who guides believers into truth (John 16:13), and that it is the privilege and duty of all the saved to be filled and controlled by the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18, I John 2:20). PURPOSE: A Doctrinal Series for Heritage Bible Chapel's Sunday School, under the premise that it is vital to review and teach through our Statement of Faith (Doctrine Essentials) with some regularity to avoid “theological amnesia and spiritual myopia.” The subjects are taught using a scripture-first approach to feature highlights of our confession in a 30-minute teaching setting. Teachers are encouraged to focus on main points, work in discussion and application as appropriate, and supplement with HBC's Constitution, church history, and other resources. Care must be given to isolate the main points due to time constraints. LOCATION & TIME: This class will be located in the Sanctuary. Attendees are encouraged to begin arriving at 9:00 a.m. Teaching will start by 9:10 a.m.

Last year, I wrote about an Uncivilized Journey that was very eye opening and transformative. This year, I went on a second journey deep in the fields of rural Austin, Texas where horses, turkeys and deer were living in peace. It was deeper and more moving than the first which is saying something. I am going to rerun last year's piece as it encapsulated the experiences well. Then I will tackle journey II in other weeks. Section II is more literature review. Enjoy, Dr. M

The Mystery of the Hasty Arrow by Anna Katharine Green audiobook. It is the noon hour at a museum in New York City. The date: May 23, 1913. The weekday, attendance is light; the attendees are scattered between two floors. Suddenly a cry rings out from the second floor. Scrambling to Section II, the museum director discovers a teenage girl dead with an arrow through her heart. An older woman hovers over her whispering incoherent phrases in the girl's ear and offering incomprehensible answers to the director's questions. She is the only witness to the crime, or accident, as the case may be. How will the feeble, 83 year-old Mr. Gryce unravel this mystery when this witness is apparently insane? Anna Katharine Green was noted for her scientific approach to the murder mystery. In The Mystery of the Hasty Arrow she breaks more ground with her in-depth study of the psychological interplay between the murderer, the victim and the witnesses. Although more quietly paced, this mystery presents many elements of a current psychological thriller: blind ambition, narcissism, obsession and betrayal. Green adds a peculiar twist with the fact that two heartbroken relatives of the victim sacrifice virtually everything to protect the murderer

Archives are much more than silent repositories of historical material. They are rich sites for teaching and learning, for collaboration and for creative and critical exploration of our past, present and future. In their new book, Teaching through the Archives: Text, Collaboration, and Activism (Southern Illinois University Press, 2022), Tarez Samra Graban and Wendy Hayden bring together 37 contributors to explore the many possible uses of archival collections in the teaching of writing and history and in generating scholarly collaboration, pedagogical experimentation and community building within and beyond the university. Section I focuses on how approaching the archive primarily as text fosters habits of mind essential for creating and using archives, for critiquing or inventing knowledge-making practices, and for being good stewards of private and public collections. Section II argues for conducting archival projects as collaboration through experiential learning and for developing a preservationist consciousness through disciplined research. Section III details praxis for revealing, critiquing, and intervening in historic racial omissions and gaps in the archives. The book's contributors see archives as sites of activism, as places where students can develop critical skills, test and question established research methodologies while also learning to appreciate the specialist knowledge of archivists. Educators in disciplines including rhetoric and composition, literature, history and archival studies will find many inspiring ideas in this book. While the chapters offer university-based case studies, many of the ideas could also be adapted to the secondary classroom and to non-institutional educational settings. In this episode, Alice Garner interviews Tarez Graban about the genesis of the book, the important lessons and possibilities she and Wendy Hayden sought to draw out from the contributors' research, as well as Dr Graban's recent work in transnational and postcolonial Southern African archival research and repatriation. Welcome to The Nonlinear Library, where we use Text-to-Speech software to convert the best writing from the Rationalist and EA communities into audio. This is: Making Trillions for Effective Charities through the Consumer Economy, published by Brad West on June 30, 2022 on The Effective Altruism Forum. I write this paper in response to some feedback I have gotten from others in the EA community regarding the length of my prior post. So here's a shorter version. TLDR: Businesses that are either owned 100% by or direct 100% of their profits to charities would have a competitive advantage over traditional companies that benefit shareholders. This is because charities are more popular than normal investors and there is no additional cost to being a charity as opposed to a normal investor. Thus, these businesses working for charities, which I call Guiding Companies, could offer goods and services at the same price and of the same quality as ordinary businesses. Consequently, the project of creating and making the public aware of these companies-working-for- charities is potentially very high-impact, because these companies could tap into the profits in the broader economy and generate billions of dollars for effective charities. Charities as Profit Recipients of Businesses In most contexts today, consumers, or buyers of goods and services, are mostly unaware, and/or given little care to, who is on the other side of the transactions they engage. If you buy some laundry detergent or cables for your phone, usually some company's set of shareholders is gaining profit from your purchase. In any case, companies seldom advertise who is profiting on the seller side. Consequently, there is a dimension of difference in the global consumer economy on which almost no sellers compete:: the identity of the entities that benefit from your purchase, often, owners in some form. An attempt to compete on shareholder/owner identity could be very effective, given that there is no strong public sentiment in favor of company shareholders or the other existing stakeholders. This use of seller-identity to compete could be seen where a consumer has a friend that owns a business, such as a barbershop, and the consumer chooses her friend's barbershop out of a desire to help her friend. In that case, the consumer would be choosing on the basis of where the profit would go, without necessarily sacrificing quality of haircut or paying more. One set of entities that could potentially occupy that shareholder position would be various kinds of charities. This makes sense because people donate millions of dollars to Oxfam, for instance, but they do not donate any money to Amazon. Consequently, if a charity or charitable trust acquired a company (through a set of wealthy philanthropists funding the acquisition- perhaps through a leveraged buyout) and advertised this fact to the public- that they could advance popular causes by buying through the firm owned by a charity instead of its competitors- it should enjoy an advantage. This effect could also be achieved by a company that explicitly directs all of its profit to charities. I call this Guided Consumption because this situation would enable consumers to further their values by buying through specific firms that specifically communicate the identity of their owners. I call the companies that are either owned by charities or explicitly direct 100% of profit to charities Guiding Companies. SECTION II and SECTION III. SUBHUTI MAKES A REQUEST and THE BUDDHAS CONTRADICTORY RESPONSE THE TEACHING OF THE GREAT WAY We arrive at the heart of the problem this section of Sutra poses. We have now even accepted that AI will do the work for us not only because we actually believe that the AI is smarter than us, but that our individuality, our essence, our self, has no evolutionary role to play in this emerging Technosphere. And that is, over millennia such uncontested and blind veneration of Sutras sublimate our Sovereignty of Human Conscious by a false equivalence to other lesser ones. This focus on ethics at the expense of developing our perception of our inner phenomena to reach higher consciousness defaces ourselves. We cannot continue to solve problems of today by resorting  to the paradigms or scriptures of the past. The universe has changed since you heard this. So, is it fair to ask, was the Buddha wrong?  Do write in, and let me know your thoughts.  It gets worse, hang in there.Support the show (https://ko-fi.com/theartofdying)

Episode 010: “All warfare is based on deception”, said Sun Tsu in the Art of War. No, this episode isn't about war or the military. But the traumas with the highest propensity to develop PTSD involve interpersonal violence. The more personal and close to you, the worse the PTSD chances. So, this episode is in acknowledgement to the fact that there are perpetrators and those that wished us harm during the traumas that we claim led to PTSD. What's most important is that you don't blame yourself for parts of the trauma, or its prevention or handling afterwards, that you couldn't control. Let Go of the Old Lies When you look at Western deterioration of family values, the quality of the food and water supply, an expensive and unhealthy medical system, and plummeting education standards, you realize that your whole life you never really got taught the right things about practically everything – and you get a little miffed. I use that frustration to fuel my own research into the programs I teach on PTSDacademy.com, but others are not so fortunate. Love Your Enemies? "Every time you point a finger at someone else, there are three pointing back at you." "Hurt people hurt people." I must admit that I have a weakness for ancient sayings and the new, but in my human frailty as a psychiatrist the words I repeat from others often feel empty - when not bathed in love. If my empathy is running short, it can be felt by others! Therefore, it is imperative that we all nurture ourselves and take care when we ought, so as to avoid the troubles that come with inauthentic counsel. In other words, YOU too have been the culprit, the perpetrator of trauma to others or you'd hardly be human at all. Even the nicest people have unintentionally crushed the spirit of a child with an ill word muttered under the breath. Some of us have simply grown uncomfortable with ignoring such family "values". Heal and forgive yourself of your misdeeds and you'll find it easier to overcome your own pain. Mid-Life Crisis Redefined I think this in an important factor during a mid-life crisis when you realize the plans you are currently making are probably wrought with flawed thinking too. Think about it. Half of life is already over and you don't want to go on believing wrong information anymore – thank you YouTube and Google, right? So, if you're like me and want to quit learning things the hard way then I invite you to look at it this way: "The sooner you can accept the impossibility of getting access to the crucial pieces of accurate information you need to make the healthiest decisions you can for you and your loved ones. Even if you could, it is practically impossible to access or decipher the information if you could get it. It would take several PhD's or a few really good podcasts to understand." Anonymous. Avoid Fear-Based Press and Ads Yes, there is corruption at every level: congress, pharmaceutical companies, lobbyists, etc. – all fighting for what they want. So, you almost have to have an analytical degree of Master's level or higher just to sort through the misinformation, particularly on the increasingly discredited internet. Remember, “all warfare is based on deception”. Don't be a victim of that deception. Commit today to inform yourself. This can't be done overnight but take a class, call in to a teleconference with me – one way or the other be responsible in your life with this information. So, I'm serious when I say the world needs more podcasts and thinkers! We need you too. Mainstream Treatment of PTSD Look at all the things we had to cover so that we could put medications and psychotherapy into their proper perspective. It took 10 episodes to get to the mainstream treatment of PTSD! This episode concludes SECTION II called Actual Treatment for Moral Injury. The third and final section of The PTSD Blueprint is called PTSD Treatment: Healing the Physical Body after Trauma. The next episode is #11, titled Mainstream Treatment of PTSD.
