Committed to wedding inner work with the work of tikkun olam, he served as a Kol Tzedek Fellow for American Jewish World Service, volunteering in Cambodia with their Volunteer Corps. Bakhmut, F-16 fighter jets, Russian volunteer corps attacks Russia - Explaining Ukraine Weekly, 22-29 May 7 key events in and around Ukraine over the past week: Zelensky on G7 meeting; agreement on F16 fighter jets; Russia ready to transfer nukes to Belarus; Ukraine returns its POWs; the situation in Bakhmut; Russian volunteer corps attacks Russia; Putin sends even more missiles and drones on Ukraine. Support us at patreon.com/ukraineworld For patrons: deeper analysis of three topics: the deportation of the Ukrainian people to Russia; psychology of children during the war; Ukraine's energy sector preparing for the next winter and (probably) next Russian strikes.
On Thursday morning, March 2, a few dozen armed men crossed over from Ukraine and raided two small towns in the Russian border region of Bryansk. The militants — described as “Ukrainian saboteurs” in hurried Russian news reports and later identified as soldiers in the so-called Russian Volunteer Corps — posed for some pictures, recorded a few breathless videos, and retreated back into Ukraine in short order. Conflicting reports followed about clashes with the incursion group: the Russian authorities said a couple of motorists were killed, but there are some odd inconsistencies in the footage later released by the Federal Security Service, while the militants themselves say they got into a shootout in one town but didn't see anyone killed. The March 2 incursion itself is fairly underwhelming, and it's hardly the first of its kind in the Bryansk area, where Russia's border with Ukraine is notoriously hard to defend. What makes the raid stand out is the leader of the group behind it: Denis Nikitin, a Russian neo-Nazi with a long history of far-right activism across Europe and especially, most recently, inside Ukraine. For more about Nikitin and the Russian Volunteer Corps, The Naked Pravda spoke to journalist Michael Colborne, who heads the Bellingcat Monitoring Project and authored the 2022 book From the Fires of War: Ukraine's Azov Movement and the Global Far Right. Timestamps for this episode: (3:56) What is the Russian Volunteer Corps and who is Denis Nikitin? (13:49) What is Denis Nikitin's ideology? In this episode of "Live Local, Give Local" listeners enjoy a great conversation between Dave Mason, the Host, this episode's co-host, David Drazenovich, the Director of Development for Palomar Family Counseling Service, Lisa Lindgren, the Executive Director of HandsOn San Diego (HOSD), and Curran Gaughan, the Director of Ignatian Volunteer Corps San Diego (IVC). As all non-profits know well, it is next to impossible to achieve the mission without the services provided by passionate volunteers, donating hours and hours of their time out of the goodness of their heart and their passion for the purpose. But how do volunteers find the passion and purpose most connected to their heart? Well, HOSD and IVC exist for just that purpose. Whether is maintaining a calendar of volunteer opportunities or direct matching, we listen to a conversation as to how these two members of San Diego Gives deliver an absolutely priceless service to San Diego non-profits. You know what else we heard? Two more examples of successful campaigns by following the playbook provided by San Diego Gives! Curran even mentions that as a small non-profit, the networking, expertise, and access to San Diego Gives University is of great value to IVC. That's exactly what we like to hear! For more information on the many services of San Diego Gives, please visit www.SanDiegoGives.org.

Yes, it’s win, win, win. It’s win for Satellite. It’s win for the volunteers. And it’s win for the patients and the community as a whole. We are trusting volunteers to bring their unique perspectives, their time and talents to the work that we do. And that increases our capacity not only to help more people, but to have that multiplicity of perspectives. Christopher Springmann: That’s Paula Allen, Satellite Healthcare’s Volunteer Program Specialist, who is joined by Emily Watson, Satellite’s Healthcare’s Director of Social Work. CS: Yes. It’s good to have both of you on NephTalk. Thanks. Emily Watson: ‘Morning. Thanks for having us. Paula Allen: Thank you, Christopher. CS: Can you tell me how the idea for bringing volunteers on board at Satellite Healthcare was initiated and where this program is going? EW: Satellite, being a non-profit, is in a unique stance. Leadership at our organization has long been interested in differentiating Satellite from the rest of the crowd in more ways than just our great quality. Looking at how we can serve our patients a little bit more one-on-one is where the idea of having a Volunteer Corps came from. We spent some time working on it, actually, last year, in 2020, in the middle of a pandemic and realized that we need special knowledge. We were gifted the opportunity to look for someone to bring on board to do that. And that’s how we found Paula.

A big THANKS to Xiaohan Cai for joining me on a podcast session - I haven't got the slightest idea of what lawyers do on a daily basis and wanted to learn from her POV on the realities as a young lawyer in Singapore - the challenges, the realities and journey of becoming one - she also volunteered in the SAF Volunteer corps which allows Singaporeans/PRs to have a taste what it's like in the Singapore army; I don't know anyone who else volunteered in this programme and was fascinated on why she made such a decision - funny story.. I actually met her in camp when I was charged by the army for not taking my fitness test....if you've ever wondered how it's like volunteering in the SAF corps or life as a lawyer in Singapore, this podcast will probably give a sneak peak onto how these experiences are like :) Disclaimer: All topics discussed here by Xiaohan and I are personal opinions and are not representative of any company views nor are they legal advice.
STAN BOSTIC: NATIONAL DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS FOR RICK CASE AUTOMOTIVE GROUP A major part of my job responsibilities is to partner, patronize and assist those nonprofits who are supported by the organization which is dedicated to many nonprofits which assist children and families in need. I develop programs year round that are blended with sales initiatives to financially support nonprofits in our community so they can continue to achieve their mission. Many of these organizations are smaller than national organizations that do not have the deep resources to perform their services to the inner community children and families. Also, we have a program which is called Bikes for Kids which provides bicycles for children in the community that want on during the holiday season. We collect and distribute more than 10,000 cycles every year. Through the Academy and since I continued giving time to these organizations and finding ways through my profession to develop outreach programs that can make a difference to former and active duty military and their families. MARCH OF DIMES VOLUNTEER As the Son of a dedicated Mother who raised 5 children while her Husband served our nation she found time to reach out and dedicated herself and I through the March of Dimes which is a nonprofit organization that helps improve the health of mothers and their babies. I learned from her as the oldest of my siblings to care for other children as if they were my brothers and sisters and I continued making time throughout my life to care for mothers and children in need by volunteering in hospitals and developing outreach programs through established nonprofits whose mission is synergistic. Dear Patriot, I am proud to announce that Freedom Flight South Florida, FF-SF, has begun its operations in South Florida to honor the US Military and First Responders for their service. FF-SF and its Volunteer Corps will be convicted to a mission of bringing every US citizen who has served honorably in the US Military beginning with our most revered WWII men and women to those men and women who have and continue to protect and serve our nation as First Responders to the monuments and memorials built in honor for a day of ceremony and honor. For our Military we intend to provide free passage to Washington D.C., Virginia and other historical sites in the USA, as well as, abroad. Our First Responders will be honored in New York City, Washington D.C. and other US Cities. FF-SF is also vigorously supporting the fundraising efforts on the passage of Senate House Bill H.R.1037, authorizing the creation of a national EMS memorial in Washington D.C. while supporting and creating synergy among other charitable organizations with a similar mission.
