For the dredge: 4 large eggs 2 Tbsp coconut sugar 2 tsp vanilla 2 Cups whole milk 4 Earl Gray tea bags (I use Lady Grey to bring some citrus notes into the mix!) Loaf of Brioche Bread Steep the milk with the tea bags in it for about 5-6 mins & let it cool before adding it to your egg mixture. I like to squeeze the tea bags into my whipped topping for a little extra boost of that tea flavor, but you do you! Berry Compote: 2 Cups blackberries 2 Tbsp water 1/4 Cup granulated sugar (can also use Monkfruit to sweeten for a healthier alternative!) Juice from half a lemon Add it all together in a pot, and bring to a rolling boil. I usually let mine simmer the whole time I'm making the French toast, so approximately 25-30 mins :) Make sure it has time to get a little gooey! Thanks for staying with us and safe travels home!

This week on The Whiskey Trip Podcast, Big Chief takes listeners on a ride back to Austin, Texas and chats with Laura Papa, Director of Sales, and Marie Perez, Distiller, from Fierce Whiskers Distillery. Laura and Marie take the Big Man through the name and history of this grain to glass craft distillery. From a quote of Rutherford B. Hayes, “Austin is an inconsiderable village with Large Expectations…full of discharged ‘Rangers'…costumes of every variety. … Fierce Whiskers, gaming and drinking very abounding in all quarters” came their name that speaks truth to Austin. This beautiful Texas Distillery has embraced Austin's pioneer spirit and taken the steps to do it right with a beautiful Vendome Still and a Kentucky Style Rick House right in the heart of Austin. They start the show with their standard Texas Rye Whiskey that has a mash-bill of 70% rye, 20% wheat, 10% malted barely. With hints of Earl Gray tea it's a beautiful sipper. They move on to one of their special releases, HAM CHO'I Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished in Cabernet Casks. They finish the first half with a Smoke & Mash Collaboration that was smoked at Snow's BBQ. In the second half they start with Single Barrel Rye which was released to support a local charity, which highlights the distillery's commitment to community. They finish the show with a celebration expression, Summer Heat that's 109 proof to match the Austin summer heat. This ride on The Whiskey Trip showcases women in whiskey and their amazing contributions in the industry. Cheers!
In this episode, Kenneth once again sits down with Jeff Champeau who is the President of Rishi Tea and Botanicals to continue their tea basics discussion. This time they are talking about Pu-er, Oolong, and Black tea. They also go into details on English Breakfast, Earl Grey, and Chai. Jeff explains tea processing, brewing, taste profiles, and caffeine content. KEY TAKEAWAYS There are two types of Pu-er. Pu-er stimulates digestion. The ripe version is pro-biotic. Sun-drying reactivates the enzymes in Pu-er. Oolong tea comes in a wide range of oxidation levels, so is available in many colors. Black tea actually looks reddish. English breakfast tea is usually a combination of two black teas. Earl Grey is a scented black tea that includes bergamot. Chai is spiced tea. Kung-fu tea is usually infused multiple times. BEST MOMENTS ‘Once that pile fermentation is done, the tea is simply dried. ´ ‘The range of aromatic compounds that we can get out of oolong tea is impressive.' ‘Chai means tea in Hindi.' To get the full transcript, support us on Patreon.

In this podcast episode, we discuss how life can turn on a dime—Sunday afternoon, I got a call from my sister that my elderly mom had fallen and was found after several hours on the floor. She was taken to the hospital, where they found she had suffered a broken pelvis in multiple places. I flew down to the Georgia area to be with her. The road has not been easy during this last week. As I sat for countless hours at her bedside, I realized there was a long road ahead, and all I could do was be present. This reminded me of the parallel of being by the side of my coaching clients. As a coach, we can support, give direction, and reflect on them what is going on. It is up to them to do the hard work of stepping out of their comfort zone. As we celebrate Women's History Month this week, I want to celebrate the tenacity I have witnessed my mom have amid incredible physical pain. I also want to remind you that to accomplish the difficult hard stuff; the NEXT best step is always the best option for all of us. Focusing on the long road ahead is not easy and can discourage you. Instead, focus on the small wins, the little wins that add up to the progress you desire. Today our guest is Dr. Melissa Bird. In this timely conversation, we speak about a lot of what I have been experiencing this week. I could not have timed the release any better. The range of emotions as humans. Part of our experience in the world requires loss, healing, and helping people realize that our need for perfection is our need to heal from grief and loss. When we give ourselves permission to feel the range of emotions, we can surrender to the knowledge we are not perfect, yet we are wonderfully made just as we are. The book by Harvard-trained theologian Meggan Watters - Mary Magdalene Revealed. In this book, she talks about how the body is the vessel for the soul, and we are here to have a human experience. We need to disrupt the narratives that this world creates for us. We need to be willing to step out of our comfort zone and change the living dynamic. Action leads to clarity and confidence. When we tap into our intuition and take inspired, intentional action, our clarity becomes inspired and intuitive, and our confidence can become inspired and intuitive. This helps us to live in our divine purpose.Lastly, Dr. Melissa and I will participate in the International Women's Day celebration on the TalkShopLive Network. The show is on March 8 at 3:30 PM EST!If you want to watch the prompt for the show, go HEREDr. Melissa Bird is a descendant of the Shivwits Band of Paiutes. She is a nationally recognized lay preacher, author, life coach, and social worker. Past audience members have described her as “fierce,” “revelatory,” “life-changing,” “enthusiastic,” and “inspirational.” When she's not working, she can be found reading trashy novels while drinking Earl Gray tea with heavy cream. Tea. What comes to mind when you read that word? Family farms? A gorgeous experience? Quality ingredients? This episode highlights one of the first trained tea sommeliers in the United States: Gabrielle Jammal, also known as "the Tea Lady". Once you spend time with Gabrielle you may never look at bagged tea the same way as she removes the "veil on the tea world"! Gabrielle is a tea sommelier who took tea tasting and experiences to new heights by creating a tea program at the esteemed Baccarat Hotel in NYC. This includes sourcing quality ingredients and selecting teas to entice and elevate client experiences. What does a high-quality Earl Gray taste like? Stick with Gabrielle to find out. You'll learn a LOT from her during this episode: from tea regions, the plant Camellia sinensis, what makes a quality tea and what makes white tea so special. A core theme during our conversation is experience. How every day is special and taking time to appreciate what we have, like a beautiful cup of tea served in a glass pot and cup, can be enriching. Yes, please use that nice glassware and don't keep it stuffed away in a cabinet! Be curious and make mistakes (experiment!) to learn what you like and how you like it prepared. Also, don't be afraid to step away from the supermarket and try new teas! Gabrielle encourages us to recognize that we have a lot of pull with our purchasing decisions. There are many businesses specializing in tea that can help you navigate the seemingly intimidating world of tea--seek out these suppliers for guidance or contact a professional tea sommelier like Gabrielle, The Tea Lady, to help you navigate the world of tea. Learn more about Gabrielle at GabriellleJammal.com and be inspired by her tea-centric posts Instagram as @the.tea.lady. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/essential-aromatica/message

As we continue on in our series on homeschooling through life's challenges, I am excited to introduce you to my friend, Rebecca Butcher. Her story of motherhood, loss, homeschooling, and adoption is full of God's grace and faithfulness. Whether or not adoption is part of your family's story, this conversation with Rebecca will encourage you as you walk through the many beautiful and challenging moments of life as a homeschool mom. About Rebecca Although she'd say that her husband's suggestion to homeschool was a shock to her, Rebecca knew deep down that one day she would teach at home when she began practicing on her little sister nearly 40 years ago. She has been married for 20 years this summer and is the mother to 5 children…three born of her womb and two born of her heart. After the deepest grief of losing her second child and firstborn daughter to hypoplastic left heart syndrome, Rebecca's perspective shifted and God began the gentle awakening of leading her away from a career in the world and more towards nurturing hearts at home. With backgrounds in both vocal performance and English literature, Rebecca seeks to cultivate the same adorations in her home where someone is always playing an instrument or they can be found piled together under a cozy blanket on the sofa reading aloud. Rebecca enjoys long walks on the beach that usually require her to turn around at the end of the island, late nights at the ballpark, her treadmill and the daily therapy that it brings, and endless cups of Earl Gray on her front porch talking to Jesus. About Julie Julie H. Ross believes that every child needs a feast of living ideas to grow intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. As a former school teacher, curriculum coordinator, and assistant director of a homeschool academy, Julie has worked with hundreds of students and parents over the past 20 years. Julie developed the Charlotte Mason curriculum, A Gentle Feast, to provide parents with the tools and resources needed to provide a rich and abundant educational feast full of books, beauty, and Biblical truth. Julie lives in South Carolina. When she's not busy homeschooling, reading children's books, hiking, or writing curriculum, you can find her taking a nap. This week we shared an Earl Gray tea with Sari Grossman! Sari has a very unique case of Crohn's disease and she has a family history of Crohn's as well. We talk to her about growing up with Crohn's and also having a mother who is living with Crohn's. We discussed how she started navigating her own healthcare in her teens (with her Mom's coaching) and how and when she transitioned to an adult provider. We talked about her involvement with a club at her college for students living with IBD and how that provided her with both support and leadership opportunities. We talked about her choice of a career in immunology and her hope for future treatments and about medical trauma and how she figured out she was struggling with it and how she got help. This was such a great conversation and Sari is such a grounded and remarkable young woman. I think you'll learn a lot for this episode and enjoy meeting her very much.
