We've been living in a strange and overall depressing kind of world for a while now... Covid has ripped lives apart, physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.Many of us have come to terms with the restrictions, and living our lives the best way we can, and this includes the many thousands upon thousands of airline crew who were made redundant throughout this whole time. Yes, they may have lost their jobs, just like many others, but one such crew saw an opportunity, a possibility to bring a beacon of light in dark times.Captain Emma Henderson MBE is our guest for part 2 of an amazing and uplifting chat that I believe will be one that you will all enjoy listening to, and especially relate to. Emma is the Founder/CEO of 'Project Wingman', a not-for-profit organisation run 100% by volunteers, mainly across the UK. 'Project Wingman' is a collective of ex-airline crew volunteers, who may have been made redundant or furloughed, and are using there time to give back to those doing their utmost during these times - those being the workers of the NHS.Coined by Emma herself, she likes to refer to what these volunteers do as 'a hug in a mug', basically offering the simple thing of a tea or a coffee in a hospital based 'lounge setup', but arguably more importantly an ear... to listen, to show care, to show empathy... just giving someone the time, and letting them know that what they are doing for us is truly being appreciated on a personal level.What Emma has started is truly remarkable, and something that many in the NHS are so very thankful for right now. Throughout the chat, you can really feel how passionate and devoted Emma is to 'Project Wingman'. It is truly inspirational to hear what Emma has done since this pandemic started, and it was a real pleasure being able to chat with her, and hear first hand about all everything her and her remarkable team are doing.We hope you enjoy.

Learn how empowering your employees catalyzes your business In October of last year I was interviewed by Emma Mills-Sheffield for her blog. We spoke about the challenges that businesses face when they stop growing, which is the subject of my first book, "On the Brink: A Fresh Lens to Take Your Business to New Heights," that shares seven case studies of clients who had gotten stuck or stalled. We discussed how Emma approaches business operations in a way that she can help companies scale and sustain their growth. As we spoke, I realized that we can always learn new things in new ways. And you will as well. Listen in! Watch and listen to our conversation Emma and I both find that people are the opportunity and the challenge We all know that an organization is a group of people. She helps them see themselves in fresh ways and develop their resilience and capabilities so they can become a happy and productive workforce—what every employer wants. “I started Green at Home by accident. It was not something that I intentionally knew; that I was going to launch my own business.”— Emma RohmannWhen it comes to creating a life that will fulfill you, passion is everything.Running a business focused only on making money will eventually just feel like a job — it will be hard for you to show up, let alone show up as a leader.A business focused on money and passion? That’s the key to fulfillment.In 2015, Green at Home founder Emma Rohmann left her corporate job to pursue her passion. And it all started with a blog. Emma was working on a research project to discover how to make healthier choices for herself and her family while on maternity leave with her second child. Her blog served as a record of this research and a space where she could make sense of the information she learned.She realized that she wasn’t the only mother with these interests, and that there was a hunger out there for information about green, healthy, eco-friendly products.So, how did she move from blog to business?She shared her posts in Facebook moms groups, keeping track of what resonated. She did in-person workshops and networked with moms, learning their questions or struggles and addressing those topics on the blog. This organic process led to partnerships and collaborations.She made the leap to full-time entrepreneur when she realized that she was burning the candle at both ends. As a former project manager, she found the uncertainty terrifying. But she knew she needed to take the plunge.Now, she wishes she had done it sooner.Emma learned a lot through her entrepreneurial journey and her search to find the intersection between passion and revenue.Hear all about her journey in the latest episode of the Road to Seven podcast.In‌ ‌this‌ ‌episode,‌ ‌you’ll discover:‌ ‌What you need to learn and invest in when you’re starting your own businessThe surprising health impacts of common household products — and where to look for information on healthier choicesHow to avoid being discouraged by controversy and negativity About Emma RohmannEmma Rohmann is an environmental engineer, mom of 2, and founder of Green at Home. Today I talk to Emma Cottam of Isabella and Us and founder of the Positive Wellbeing Magazine and Podcast. Emma wears many hats - she's a speaker, writer, editor, designer and photographer. She started her business, Isabella and Us, when her daughter was just4 weeks old and then founded the Positive Wellbeing Zine and Podcast for Mums nine months later.   We talked about: How she came to start a business within 4 weeks of giving birth Why positive wellbeing for mums is needed  How being creative gave her an outlet away from being a mum that she really needed  Why buying stuff for the parents is more useful than stuff for the baby The fact that giving birth to a baby is also a rebirth for the parents What Emma would tell her pregnant self if she could go back in time, and her three top tips for preparing to becoming a mother Emma was really honest and open around her experiences as a mother and candid about her struggles to bond with her daughter and the ongoing work she is doing to establish that relationship with her. I found it heartbreaking at times, but I'm so grateful to her for sharing her experience to help normalise the whole spectrum of feelings you can experience as a mother. I find it amazing that despite her experiences during pregnancy and postnatally, she's still very positive about how she's grown and developed as a result of the experience and that it's led to how she is as a person. Even more so that she has turned into a mission to promote positivity and help other mums access resources to remind them they are winning as a mummy - the core message in everything she does.    This was a powerful episode to record and I was reminded once again how strong we mums really are.   For the full shownotes, go to: www.tashadcruz.com/podcast/positive-wellbeing-for-mums   Find Emma: Website | Instagram | Facebook | Positive Wellbeing Zine | Positive Wellbeing Podcast --- Sign up for my newsletter and free downloads, including my Postnatal Planner Checklist to help you plan your postnatal period Follow me on Instagram #raisinghealthymothers Please share the podcast if you enjoyed the episode - the more mums we can reach the better!

Living with HIV now has changed a lot compared to 30 years ago; the scientists have made major breakthroughs and the treatment is really effective now in suppressing the viral load, making people undetectable and untransmittable and helping them live a normal life. Also, the access to information about HIV and AIDS has improved considerably but still, the majority of the concerns and the questions asked are the same as 25 – 30 years ago.In today’s episode, Emma shares with us how it was to live with HIV without hiding it, in a period when people were afraid to even shake your hand.Emma Cole is an HIV activist from the UK who speaks out publicly as an HIV positive woman in an attempt to break down the misperceptions that many still have about HIV. Since then, she has undertaken over 1,000 public speaking engagements to a wide variety of audiences, including schools, health service providers, the police, social services, church groups, and colleges. Emma Lovell had a flash of inspiration on the plane one day that led her on the most incredible journey of entrepreneurship and TV fame, and she managed to do all this while being the mother of two small children. It was her children who inspired her to pioneer the Cozi Go: a canopy that protects babies from light and noise to enable them to sleep more easily in public places. Her idea was so good that she was invited onto the very first series of Shark Tank and walked away with the investment she needed to get the business off the ground and dominate the marketplace.   See some of Emma’s top tips below: **  When you’re designing and developing something new, always assume it’s going to take a lot longer than you originally planned. Pick a figure and double it! **  Be prepared for there to be a big difference between the quality of a prototype and the first mass-produced batch of products. Make sure you have external quality control to check this. **  If you’re letting someone down, make damn sure you have a clear plan to resolve the situation. **  If you’re getting a business off the ground, have a mentor in place that you can be accountable to. As I was having one of my more reflective weekends, not surrounded by Aperol Spritz and Tequilla, I was looking through my episodes. I was really annoyed with myself about the lack of inspirational women I had interviewed. This completely unintentional but within seconds I had started putting together a list of women I really wanted to have on the show. The first one that really screamed out at me was Emma Sayle the CEO of Killing Kittens Emma is one of the UK's leading sex-entrepreneurs. She made her name launching the elite global adult-party brand, Killing Kittens in 2005, which now has over 80,000 members having launched events across the US, Australia and Europe. The popular press have pronounced her a leader at the cutting edge of the new dawn of female sexual liberation. She has appeared in national and international media from TV shows to broadsheets to radio debates and corporate talks. What Emma has created with Killing Kittens is nothing short of incredible. This is an episode that nobody should miss and it was a real pleasure to have had her on the show. Loved every minute of it!!!! What we spoke about on the episode: * Emma's background as an individual and how her career and life took her into the creation of Killing Kittens.
 * Emma tells us what the stimulus behind KK was and also where the name came from!
 * Emma talks us through the most common misconceptions that outsiders don't understand or quite simply get wrong about Killing Kittens.
 * The real power behind being a member of the Killing Kittens community.
 * Emma explains the format behind one of the Killing Kittens parties.
 * Emma tells us what the most powerful realisation she's had since starting the business.
 * We talk through what feminism is and why the term has such a stigma around it.
 * How movements such as Killing Kittens is levelling the playing field for society in a number of areas. Mental health included.
 * Emma's one piece of entrepreneurial advice for those thinking to work on their passion project.
 * The unbelievable scalability that Killing Kittens has as a business. What is going to happen to the business over the next 12-18 months.
 * Emma's biggest hero.
 * A book that had the most impact on Emma's life.
 * I ask Emma to pass on one life lesson learnt to us.
