Hey Everybody, Angela Bowen here, the host of Punky Power: An Unofficial Punky Brewster Podcast. Today, I covered the final installment in the Sarah Plain and Tall Movie Trilogy, Winter's End (1999). Movie Synopsis: It's been 8 years since Jacob Witting and his two children Anna and Caleb, met and fell in love with the woman who would transform their lives for the better, Sarah Wheaton from Maine who arrived in Kansas after answering an ad for a woman to care for a widower and his two children, to make a difference. Now, we see the Witting family has added a new family member, 6 year-old adorableand inquisitive Cassie as well as losing some furry family members Nick the dog from the movies Sarah Plain and Tall and Skylark and Seal, Sarah's cat who she brought from Maine but gaining Nichol also a border collie who according to Cassie is the son of Nick. Spoiler Alert: In the final 2 books in the series More Perfect Than The Moon and Grandfather's Dance, Nick and Seal are very much alive. In fact Seal is a grandmother as one of her grandcats is living on the farm. Anna who is 19 and studying medicine is working under Dr. Sam in town during the 1918 Spanish Flu Epidemic and dating his son Justin who is away at war. Caleb is about 14 and continues to work on the farm as he goes to school, he even contemplates leaving school like his father and grandfather to work on the farm full time, but Jacob and his father stress the importance of a good education. On a cold winter day a mysterious stranger shows up at the Witting Farm. We soon learn he is John Witting, Jacob's father who he originally thought was dead, but in actuality abandoned Jacob and his mother when Jacob was little, leaving him to quit school at a young age and take over running the farm. Upon John's return, Jacob is is very hurt by what his father did to him many years ago and unwilling to hear John's side and the real reason he left all those years ago. Sarah has her hands full with 6 year Cassie who is filled with questions for John and Caleb's been handed the task from Anna to fill the family journal with stories of the family and the farm while she is away in town. Hard truths are revealed, life threatening weather arrives and relationships are mended in this beautiful and heartwarming conclusion to this movie trilogy. I hope you all enjoy my review of this movie as I loved covering it. These movies will forever be close to my heart. I promise at some point to cover the two remaining books in the Sarah Plain and Tall book series on the podcast. Have a great week everyone!

Jace dives into X-23 #10 as we continue to explore the relationships between Laura and her clones. Also he takes a look at Uncanny X-Men Winter's End #1. This books gives Sina Grace and the creative team from the Iceman ongoing series a chance to bring closure to a lot of the storylines they were exploring for Booby Drake. Jace also talks about about the choice to retcon Bobby, does this change add to or take away from who Bobby is as a character?

In this episode, everyone has a chat. Nugget and Ggislin, Yuria and Knight, Rue and various racers, Pan and... his brother? Is Cedar Flynn really who he claims to be, or is this some weird racing gimmick he's committing to super hard? Pan is unconvinced. Welcome to Aaureo, the strangest city in all the land. Aaureo is built just outside of the Green Man's Graves, a bottomless, ever-refreshing resource of wood, food, and various goods of all kinds, with one big catch - everyone and everything in the area after sundown disappears forever. So the people of Aaureo make a living by driving unique vehicles of their own creation out into the swamp, gathering all the supplies they can, and driving back home before the sunset destroys them. And out in the Graves is the final tower of Aurorealis. ----more---- Friar Pan is played by Clove. Rue Titania is played by Ikks. Poptart is played by Joey. Yuria is played by Riley. Monsoon is played by Arden. Today's episode was edited by Riley.
This episode originally had a different ending! Due to various life circumstances at the time, Arden was unable to play with us for several months, so decided to leave the campaign rather than hold us back. Due to our poor scheduling, we only played like 3 episodes' worth of game while Arden was gone, so we re-recorded the end of episode 34 to keep Monsoon directly relevant. The original goodbyes were kept here, if you want to listen to them, but they are not canon and can be ignored.
The gunpowder halfling Roger has decided to do the one thing a revolutionary made of explosions is best at: go topple a society. Monsoon is played by Arden. Today's episode was edited by Riley.
One of Nugget's Poptart Pieces has gone back to the Tartland, back to what used to be the River Poptart: back to the home of Friar Pan. The nuns of St. Madeline's Monastery are more than happy to see their son again, but much less happy to see all that has happened to him. And Monsoon's sister Typhoon is not happy that her brother is taking charge of the ship to help out a bunch of stowaways. How do we put Nugget back together, now that we've found one of their pieces? What will Monsoon do to placate his sister? And is Friar Pan okay? The introduction was an excerpt from "Army of Two," by Dumdums. ----more---- Friar Pan is played by Clove. Rue Titania is played by Ikks. Poptart is played by Joey. Yuria is played by Riley. Monsoon is played by Arden. Today's episode was edited by Riley.
Tabletalk takes place before, during, and after the episode it is tied to, and contains bits we thought were fun to keep but not necessarily good for the finished episode. Please listen to tabletalk after listening to the episode, to avoid any casual spoilers.
Content Warning: This bonus episode is very horny. This scene was originally supposed to be in the main episode, but honestly? It's probably for the best that it's separate.
With the pumpkin patch and char out of commission, due to damage and constant rainfall respectively, the fellowship is forced to rely on Monsoon for transportation. But even up in the sky, danger is still hot on their trail, as Yuria's old nemesis Rath is finally coming for her... This episode is slightly late because we attempted to fix a lost scene, then the scene became un-lost just as we gave up on fixing it. So a bonus scene will be releasing in the next couple days to go with this episode; please look forward to it. ----more---- The introduction was an excerpt from You're Gonna Go Far, Kid by The Offspring. Friar Pan is played by Clove. Rue Titania is played by Ikks. Poptart is played by Joey. Yuria is played by Riley. Monsoon is played by Arden. Today's episode was edited by Riley.

We were pretty unfocused this session, so to tighten up the episode I cut out a few side discussions we had. This episode's tabletalk is mostly jokes, along with some discussion on cats and what columnist beasts are like.
After struggling to read the patrons names thanks to an unannounced update to Patreon, Brandon and Kenny discuss their refreshing experience watching Christopher Walken bring back one of his more subdued, normal characters in the final installment of the Hallmark series of movies "Sarah, Plain and Tall." This episode had a few re-takes, which I saved for posterity. Joey stepped out for a minute, Clove decided babies can be any age, and Ikks solved too many problems.

There was a bit more conversation after the end of the episode that I wanted to save, but the end point we used just worked so well I couldn't leave it in the episode. So now you can listen to it separately, as an outtake.
A week after the terrible incident with Aurorealis, the fellowship finds themselves taking alternative transportation. This episode had a LOT of downtime and problems, that had to be cut out. The raw audio for the episode was over 2 hours! But there was some good jokes that were removed, so I saved the longer bits I cut out into Tabletalk. Here you can listen to all the things we half-did and didn't finish or follow up on, or the parts where everyone else was waiting around while Joey or Ikks had to step out for a bit so we talked about Yo! Tabletalk is table chatter that was cut from the episode, but funny enough to keep for later. We've had a lot less of it since switching our recording method to its current format, but it still happens sometimes!
King Nnico Llendora intends to kill Poptart. Yuria refuses to let that happen. Harbinger wants to see the king ruined. Poptart will protect these people, no matter what it takes. In today's episode of To Winter's End, we build the world. Our heroes talk about the world as they know it, filling it with cool places to see, people to meet, and problems to solve.
