Blamison made it back just in the nick of time to maintain the efficacy of their typical intro of "once or twice a month"! On this episode we play thought games with the 1996 comedic fable Multiplicity starring Michael Keaton and Andie McDowell and directed by Harold Ramis. But let's be honest, we hadn't talked in about a month, so most of this episode is just babbling.Other things talked about: Blake's mustache, his upcoming breakout talk at the NYC Mockingbird conference, and Jamison's trip to Japan.Clip: The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack

JFD is back to help you ease into November and this month we pay tribute to Teri Garr by taking a look at three of the goofiest entries in her filmography. Up first, OG SNL writer Tom Schiller directs a short for Cinemax Comedy Experiment in 1988 titled Flapjack Floozie starring Teri Garr as a turn-of-the-century singer with and addiction for pancakes that almost spells her demise. Then, the director of License to Drive and the writers of Bill and Ted tell the tale of a boring middle-aged suburban couple (the disgraced Jeffrey Jones and the wonderful Teri Garr) who are kidnapped by an alien dictator (Jon Lovitz) in the visually impressive Mom and Dad Save the World from 1992. And finally, Teri Garr plays the mother of a young boy played by Ben Savage who befriends an alien played by Sinbad, who he finds in a box of cereal and helps him defeat an intergalactic threat in the made-for-TV movie Aliens for Breakfast from 1995. All this plus Thanksgiving food rankings, partying with Metal gods, adventures at the drive-in, blu-rays to get you in the holiday spirit and so much more!LISTEN NOW!:MP3 Direct DonloydAlso, if you like the show, please take a minute and subscribe and/or comment on us on iTunes, Stitcher, Blubrry or Podfeed.net. Today I set down with team Savage. Geoff Speyrer, Kat Carrier, Noel and Josh Voigt.Geoff served 12 years in the Army as a combat engineer and Infantryman. Upon returning home he had a tough time adapting to civilian life and he turned to addiction. Geoff was also given medication from the Army that adversely affected his health. He developed compartment syndrome and had to have a muscle amputated out of his leg leaving him with paralysis in his left foot. Geoff didn't realize or understand what PTSD and TBI was until he was so deep into addiction and selling drugs that he didn't even know how to ask for help nor did he really want it. For the next 13 years Geoff would suffer with addiction, battling suicide and being a fugitive for five and a half years. Then one day he decided to quit playing the blame game and take back his life. He started investing hard into his body and fitness and started to share his story that impacted many lives. Through his new found purpose he educates, inspires, entertains and builds communities that show up in realist and rawest ways. Kat Carrier - Mechanical engineer by day, Nutrition Coach by passion lives in Houston, TX with her Husband, Grant, & pup, Flapjack. She found her passion for both nutrition education & endurance sports after finding an outlet for her mental health & losing 60 pounds herself. Welcome to March 7th, 2023 on the National Day Calendar. Today we celebrate breakfast food for the kid in all of us. Marlo: Hey Anna, whatcha cooking? Anna: Flapjacks Marlo; it's National Flapjack Day and I thought it would be fun to try out some recipes and toppings I found on the internet! Marlo: Okaaaaay, what's with this green one?? Anna: Ooo, that's an avocado and kale flapjack, fun and healthy! Marlo: Ummhmmm…This one looks more my speed. Anna: Oh yeah, this one is bacon and chocolate… Marlo: delicious! Anna: Here's a lunch or dinner flapjack, it's a cheeseburger flapjack! Marlo: Interesting, lemme try that! I like it! Anna: On National Flapjack Day, stretch your taste buds and try toppings that take this breakfast dish to all three meals plus dessert! Breakfast cereal appeals to the kid in all of us. If you were ever dragged along to the grocery store, one reward made it all worthwhile, a trip down the cereal aisle. But the brightly colored boxes promising a toy inside did not start out that exciting at all. And while Kellogg's Corn Flakes were the first cereal to provide a prize inside the box in 1909, they were originally designed to be boring. Dr. John Harvey Kellogg believed that a bland diet would keep us on the straight and narrow and Corn Flakes were his first line of defense. The cereal later took a ride aboard Apollo 11, where they were formed into cubes to be eaten without milk. Few other cereals have such an illustrious history, though some have enough sugar to rocket your kids to the moon and back. On National Cereal Day, celebrate your inner child with a bowl full of crunchy goodness. I'm Anna Devere and I'm Marlo Anderson. Thanks for joining us as we Celebrate Every Day. Jason, Josie, and Greg share in the horror. GenCon is still going strong, fortunately. Many veteran D&D players consider Planescape the finest setting ever released for D&D. Welcome to March 7th, 2022 on the National Day Calendar. Today we celebrate breakfast favorites piled high or in a bowl. If you enjoy flapjacks for breakfast, be sure to check your surroundings before ordering some. Here in the United States, a flapjack is another name for a pancake. The word is simply a regional name. But if you are in England, make sure to choose your words carefully. Over there, a pancake is very similar to our version. However, a flapjack is an entirely different thing. British flapjacks are baked in an oven and made from a mixture of oats, sugar, butter, and syrup. They're closer to what we call granola bars. On National Flapjack Day, enjoy a stack with melted butter and syrup or any regional favorite of your own. If your mother ever dragged you along to the grocery store, then a trip down the cereal aisle made it all worthwhile. But the brightly colored boxes promising a toy inside did not start out that exciting at all. And while Kellogg's Corn Flakes were the first to put a prize inside the box in 1909, they were originally designed to be boring. Dr. John Harvey Kellogg believed that a bland diet would curb our sinful human nature. The cereal later took a ride aboard Apollo 11, where it was formed into cubes to be eaten without milk. Few other cereals have traveled this distance, though some have enough sugar to rocket your kids to the moon and back. On National Cereal Day, celebrate your inner child with a bowl full of crunchy goodness. I'm Anna Devere and I'm Marlo Anderson. Thanks for joining us as we Celebrate Every Day.
