In Episode #68 of the Squeaky Bum Time Podcast, Laurent waxes poetic about Manchester City picking up their second trophy of the season, as Manchester United's loss on Tuesday handed the Cityzens the Premier League crown. We also discuss: The race for the top four is a three-horse race for two spots: Can Liverpool catch either Chelsea or Leicester City with only two games left to play? Taking a trip around Europe, we dive into Juventus' collapse to likely missing out on next year's Champions League and could Lille really upset PSG for the Ligue 1 title? The Women's Champions League Final is almost here as well! We preview the showdown between an other-worldly Barcelona team and a plucky-but-strong Chelsea side. Rehashing one of our old episodes, we talk about why women's sports in Europe are working, and why they're barely holding on in the US. Chris, who is in the thick of the women's football action as a journalist and podcaster, gives us the lowdown on the women's game in Scotland and further afield - the progress that has been made and the challenges that have yet to be overcome, this year's thrilling Scottish Cup final, the 2019 World Cup, the Scottish national team, the Glasgow City success story and the Women's Champions League all get considerable mentions, amogst other things. But I couldn't have Chris on without having some sort of culinary discussion - he was a judge at the World Scotch Pie Championships, I'll have you know. So there's a comparison of Spanish football food and Scottish football food and some general 'pie and bovril' chat. Has anyone tried more pies at the football than this man? Rob Walker (@rwalk03) is a staff writer at Into the Calderón and the guest on this edition of Colchonero Chat, in which he tries to make sense of Atlético Madrid's goalless draw at Leganés on Saturday. He wonders why Diego Simeone went with a back three, why he went away from it so early and why he settled on playing for the draw. The podders debate how Simeone's rotation game has played out so far this season — while Atlético remain unbeaten in LaLiga, not everything has gone so smoothly, and a big test awaits against Barcelona following the international break. The guys also look back on Atlético's midweek defeat to Chelsea and wonder if Atleti's qualification fate remains in their hands, while also taking a moment to discuss Atleti's ladies' team, which is preparing to take on Wolfsburg in the Women's Champions League this week.
