El FC Barcelona ha ganado con remontada ante el Eintracht y el Atleti ha remontado también contra el PSV en Eindhoven. Analizamos los dos partidos y escuchamos a los primeros protagonistas. 

Tal día como hoy, pero el 10 de diciembre de 1972, el Atlético de Madrid vencía en Liga por 2-0 al FC Barcelona en el Vicente Calderón, con goles de Gárate y Bezerra. Esa misma temporada, con Max Merkel, conocido como Mr. Látigo, en el banquillo, el Atleti se proclamaría campeón de Liga. Sería el 7º Campeonato nacional de Liga para el club rojiblanco que le daba derecho a jugar la siguiente temporada la Copa de Europa de Campeones de Liga, en la que llegaría a disputar su primera final frente al Bayern de Munich de infausto recuerdo. En la competición nacional Liguera, en partido disputado en San Mamés el pasado sábado a las 21 horas, el Atleti cosechó una nueva derrota fuera de casa al perder por 1-0, frente al Athletic Club de Bilbao. Es la 3ª derrota en la competición, pero 2ª consecutiva, lo cual hace que el Atleti esté 4º en la clasificación a 9 puntos del Barça, líder, a 5 de el Mal que es 2º y a 4 del Villarreal que es 3º con un partido menos que todos los anteriores. El próximo partido en Liga será el día 13 de diciembre en el Estadio Metropolitano, donde recibiremos al Valencia a las 14:00. En la Champions el pasado martes 9 de diciembre el Atleti logró una victoria importantísima ante el PSV por 2-3. Con esos 3 puntos el Atleti se sitúa 7º en la tabla clasificatoria, con muchas opciones de lograr meterse entre los 8 primeros que dan la clasificación para la ronda de Octavos de final. El próximo partido en esta competición será ya el año que viene, concretamente el día 21/1 a las 18:45 horas en Estambul, donde nos enfrentaremos al Galatasaray. Tal día como hoy, pero el 3 de diciembre de 1903, nació en Madrid Javier Barroso, quien inició su carrera en el Madrid en 1918 con 15 años como delantero. En 1920 fichó por el Athletic de Madrid como delantero aunque terminó consolidándose como portero disputando 47 partidos oficiales con el club. Además de futbolista, fue Doctor en arquitectura, carrera a la que se dedicó profesionalmente.  En diciembre de 1931 se incorporó a la directiva del club, pero un mes después en enero de 1932, con el equipo en 2ª división se convirtió en entrenador del equipo hasta el final de la temporada no logrando el ascenso al quedar 2º en la clasificación.  El 1 de agosto de 1941 fue elegido presidente de la Federación Española de Fútbol, cargo que ostentó hasta 1946.El 11 de diciembre de 1955 fue elegido presidente del Atleti, cargo en el que fue reelegido el 11 de septiembre de 1960. El 17 de marzo de 1961, y ante la evidencia de que el Estadio Metropolitano se había quedado pequeño y obsoleto, Barroso adquiere los terrenos para construir un nuevo campo de fútbol, junto al río Manzanares. Ese mismo año se iniciarían las obras del campo, cuyo proyecto arquitectónico redactaría el propio Javier Barroso en colaboración con Miguel Ángel García-Lomas Mata, también arquitecto y posteriormente (1973-1976), alcalde de Madrid. El Estadio del Manzanares era una gran aspiración de los atléticos, pero tenía un alto coste. En 1958 se había tenido que realizar una emisión de deuda en forma de obligaciones hipotecarias suscritas por los propios socios del club.[ Bajo su presidencia, el Atlético de Madrid conseguiría sus dos primeras Copas de España las de 1960 y 1961, e igualmente su primer gran título europeo: la Recopa de 1962. Pese a los triunfos deportivos, la situación económica no era buena, al afrontar el coste de construcción del nuevo estadio, y ese año el Atlético tiene que traspasar a Joaquín Peiró al equipo italiano del Torino por veinticinco millones de pesetas. En la competición nacional Liguera, en partido disputado en el Metropolitano el pasado sábado a las 21 horas, el Atleti logró una nueva victoria en casa frente al recién ascendido Oviedo por 2-0, con doblete de Sorloth en los minutos 16 y 26. Poco más que contar de dicho partido, pues la segunda parte fue muy conservadora por parte de los nuestros de cara al siguiente compromiso frente al Barça. El martes día 2/12, en partido adelantado de la 15ª jornada de liga, por la celebración de la Supercopa de España en Arabia en el mes de enero, el Atleti cosechó su segunda derrota en Liga, pese a haberse adelantado en el marcador, al igual que en las 14 jornadas anteriores, los nuestros no lograron imponerse ante un Barcelona que sale más líder tras el partido. La clasificación queda ahora con el Barça 1º, seguido de el Mal y Villarreal, el Atleti seguirá 4º ahora a 6 puntos de la cabeza, pero todavía queda muchísimo campeonato por delante. Tal día como hoy, pero el 25 de noviembre de 1980, se celebró el partido de homenaje a José Luis Capón, entre el Atlético de Madrid y la Selección de la URSS en el Vicente Calderón. El lateral izquierdo jugó con la rojiblanca 269 partidos oficiales desde la temporada 1970-71 y  hasta su retirada en la 1979-80. 34 partidos de Copa, 14 de Recopa de Europa, 14 de Copa de Europa, 6 de Copa de la UEFA, y 2 de Copa Intercontinental. Ganó 2 Ligas con el Atleti (1973 y 1977), 1 Copa del Rey en 1976 y la Intercontinental en 1975. Capón nos dejó el 29 de marzo de 2020 por culpa del COVID. En sus propias palabras rememoraba con añoranza que "lo mejor fue ganar la Liga del 77 en el Bernabéu y la Intercontinental. Jugué el famoso partido de semifinales en Glasgow en el 74. No lo olvidaré, porque allí nos maltrataron y aquí les arrollamos, pero futbolísticamente”. En la competición nacional Liguera, en partido disputado en Getafe el pasado domingo a las 18:30, el Atleti logró 3 puntos importantísimos, con victoria por 0-1, con gol en propia puerta. Fue un partido de esos que hay que masticar barro y cemento, pero que son de los que deciden campeonatos. Es la  5ª victoria consecutiva en Liga, siendo, además, fuera de casa. Con este resultado el Atleti sigue 4º, a 4 puntos del líder (el Mal), 3 del segundo (Barça)  y 1 del tercero (Villarreal) y eso que se había tirado la liga en agosto… El próximo compromiso liguero será el sábado 29/11 a las 21:00 frente al Oviedo en su retorno a la máxima división. Esperemos que se sigan sumando puntos de 3 en 3 para mantenernos en la pomada. Por otro lado, en Champions, el Atleti recibirá al Inter de Milán, mañana miércoles a las 21 horas en el Metropolitano. Partido importantísimo para las aspiraciones del equipo para estar entre los 8 primeros de la liguilla y así evitar la ronda previa. Hablaremos de dicho partido la próxima semana. Mientras tanto….
