2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.2 Corinthians 10:3–6 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.Matthew 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?” This morning rant is about the strategies that Satan uses. Today we will look at how he approach Eve in Genesis 3 and Abraham in the book of Jasher 23Points of attackHath God said? - Satan said to Eve to cause her to doubt God's wordArt thou silly and brutish, that thou goest to do this thing this day to your only son- Satan said to Abraham- to Abraham to cause him to doubt God's wordEve account and ResponseGenesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, `You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?''2 And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 "but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, `You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.' 4 And the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. 5 "For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.'' 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.Abraham account and responseAnd whilst Abraham was proceeding with his son Isaac along the road, Satan came and appeared to Abraham in the figure of a very aged man, humble and of contrite spirit, and he approached Abraham and said to him, art thou silly or brutish, that thou goest to do this thing this day to thine only son ? 26. For God gave thee a son in thy latter days, in thy old age, and wilt thou go and slaughter him this day because he committed no vio- lence, and wilt thou cause the soul of thine only son to perish from the earth ? 27. Dost thou not know and understand that this thing cannot be from the Lord ? For the Lord can- not do unto man such evil upon earth to say to him, go slaughter thy child. 28. And Abra- ham heard this and knew that it was the word of Satan who endeavored to draw him aside from the way of the Lord, but Abraham would not hearken to the voice of Satan, and Abraham rebuked him so that he went away.Support this show http://supporter.acast.com/622a9079e8fb640012cb94f3. Where Felix and Aleksey discuss what this podcast series will be all about. Also, we meet Bill Baxton, explore insular futures, get scared by the monopoly of technologists, uncover money laundering for human biases and ponder upon what makes us human. With a bit of Stockholm, Seattle, #MeToo and trash politics. Bear with us as Felix's beard scratches the mic. Plus, apparently there's no more WordArt in PPT online, so our cover looks the way it does.

Classroom 2.0 LIVE webinar with Valerie Burton @MsBisOnline, "They've been reading closely... now what?", August 22, 2015. We are thrilled to welcome Valerie Burton back on Classroom 2.0 LIVE to share some of her valuable tips and tools for student responses to reading that help teachers assess their learning. Webinar description: We have given them the tools to be able to annotate, decode vocabulary and analyze the text on a variety of levels. Now it's time to allow them to show what they know. Assessment can be so much more than bubbling in an answer document. This session will explore some of the many different ways that students can create products that allow us to assess the knowledge gained. Have them create and produce: Memes with the same overall message of nonfictional text. NoteCard Confession video that explores the overall theme of a fictional text. WordArt that highlights the character's motivating actions Paperslide videos that retell a nonfictional text Blackout Poems that remix the text and examine language used Six word memoirs or 4x4 responses ePortfolios (website, blogs, Padlet, Smore, etc.) to display artifacts and essays There is no limitation to what they can create and we should embrace that. Valerie is an English I teacher from West Jefferson High School, New Orleans, Louisiana. She is also the Department Head and winner of the May, 2009 Exemplary 21st teaching and learning contest! A contest sponsored by Jefferson Parish’s Technology Department Her philosophy is to provide an inquiry-based atmosphere in her classroom. In her English I class she uses project based learning and technology to make learning enjoyable for all. Because her students have a variety of strengths, weakness and learning styles, she designs each lesson so that it is diversified enough so that all students are able to succeed. There are three elements that she believes are conducive to establishing such an environment, (1) the teacher acting as a guide, (2) allowing the child’s natural curiosity to direct his/her learning, and (3) promoting respect for all things and all people.
