The Spin Chagrin, a concept that finds Frank having to watch a movie he's never seen before based on the random spin of a wheel filled with off-the-wall genres, continues into its third year; the twist this year is that all the categories are quotables from Frank himself. In this episode, Frank's category was "Shooting Machine Guns and Making Weird Facs.” For this category, he watched and reviewed two action movies from WWE Films starring The Miz - The Marine 5: Battleground and The Marine 6: Close Quarters.
The next sequel we are covering was a WWE Film, "12 Rounds 2: Reloaded". For it, I chatted with the Composer, Nathan Furst. Nathan discusses his experience scoring movies, including the challenge of incorporating Christmas carols into a film score. He also shares the challenges he faced as a young composer and the importance of being willing to make fun of oneself. Nathan explains the audition process for composers and the future of composing in the age of AI. The conversation concludes with a discussion on the meta nature of action movies and the joy of being a fan. We also talked about his family, his brother Griff who I interviewed last year, and their legendary father Stephen Furst (Flounder in "Animal House". Great chat. Watch the unedited interview at sequelsonly.com/NathanFurst Nathan's IMDb https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0299115/ Your homework is to watch "12 Rounds 2: Reloaded" which is 3 bucks anywhere you rent online. We are kicking off 2024 with one of my favorite sequels of all time, "Scream 2". As Mickey would say, "Nice twist huh? Didn't see it coming, did you?" This one has it all; epic cast, college setting, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Neve Campbell, great soundtrack, and great suspense. Scream 2 had us discussing which killer was behind the mask in what scene, the perfect planning by Ghostface, the epic cast, who else could've been the killers, and more. Great way to start the year. Watch the unedited review at sequelsonly.com/scream2 Next sequel up is a WWE Film, 12 Rounds: 2 starring Randy Orton, who could be a WWE Champion again soon. For it we chatted with composer Nathan Furst. Nathan's brother Griff was a guest last spring. Nathan talked about growing up with a legendary comedic father Stephen Furst (Flounder in Animal House), the movie that inspired him to pursue composing, doing a big studio movie, the audition process, and more. Who could forget the classics like See No Evil, 12 Rounds, The Condemned or Knucklehead? WWE Films certainly didn't take off. But not every movie was horrible, we break down all the WWE studios films even talk about some we didn't know about! @TheRumbleWheel
This week's Interview Classic episode from ten years ago (7-26-2013) features Dan Madigan, a former WWE Creative Team member in 2004 and 2005 who was around for WrestleMania 20. He talks about his first time meeting Vince McMahon, odd McMahon quirks, the crazy Vince "burrito story," what Triple H's interpersonal skills were like, how Vince reacted to his pitch for a Nazi character for John Heidenreich, the process of writing "See No Evil" for WWE Films, what he thinks WWE did wrong in their approach to entering the movie industry and what Vince said his goal was initially, thoughts on the Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar debacle at WM20, backstage impressions of John Cena, Undertaker, JBL, and Randy Orton, and much more. He also talks about a Kickstarter project based around a graphic novel series starring Ultimo Dragon. This show is part of the Spreaker Prime Network, if you are interested in advertising on this podcast, contact us at https://www.spreaker.com/show/3076978/advertisement

Before he was Fast or Furious, before he was a Trainwreck, John Cena was just a man trying to readjust to civilian life. The only thing standing in his way is the T-1000 and a whole lot of walking. Let's explore the film that would launch a career as well as a neverending WWE Films franchise. (Full disclosure: this episode was recorded prior to a major production upgrade for the Movie Marks. Don't judge us. We feel you judging us.)
The news has been insane this week, so let’s get some first hand information on at least some of it on a brand new Tights and Fights!Daron Jackson is a production attorney for WWE Films. Or at least he was up until a few days ago. Yup, not even the film production branch of the company is immune to the sweeping layoffs that Vince McMahon has inflicted upon the WWE. But even though his division was getting downsized, Daron was already on his way out of the company. He’ll tell us about what it was like getting those emails from Vince and shoutout to some of the talented people he worked with.Plus, we should also talk about some wrestling right? This past weekend was the 2021 edition of AEW’s Double or Nothing PPV. Lindsey watched it from beginning to end (okay, mostly) and has loving thoughts about Britt Baker’s coronation and Cody Rhodes’ inability to see himself as the bad guy. The Three Count:Daron put over Xavier Woods finally getting a singles matchLindsey put over Ruby Riott and her untapped potential with the WWEHal put over Andrade suplexing his future father-in-law into a poolHosted by Hal Lublin and Lindsey KelkProduced by Julian Burrell for Maximum Fun.If you want to talk about more wrestling throughout the week be sure to join us on Facebook and @TightsFights on Twitter and Instagram.
