The power of mindset check-ins to help you overcome your biggest pain points and fears

What is your biggest pain point right now in your life? I asked this question to the boss mama community and the top two things that came up were freedom and money. Yet, these things are rarely what is really standing in our way. They are the byproduct of the root cause - fears and limiting beliefs. Which is why the only way we are able to overcome the pain and achieve what we really desire is if we do the work to understand the core issue. In today's episode I not only provide how the first black female astronaut in space, Mae Jemison, was able to overcome her fear of heights so she could go to space, I also talk about how important it is that we get better at having mindset check-ins with ourselves so we don't let our fears hold us back. You will learn what a mind-set check in is, a simple method called the 5 why's which can help you apply this in your own life and I share a personal example to empower you to implement the mindset check-ins in your life so you can overcome your major pain points today. How to manifest your dreams with a growth mindset

Your future reality is based on the options you give yourself right now - why not give yourself unlimited possibilities with what you can accomplish in this life? It all boils down to your ability to adopt a growth mindset. That might sound easy but most of us walk around unconscioulsy with a limited mindset - with beliefs about scarcity and limitations, mostly due to our environment - our culture, how we were raised, what we were taught in school or even how we advance in our careers. And since our wellness is directly correlated to our mindset, it's no wonder the state of the world we are in right now - where studies have shown that 85% of people have low self-esteem. The good news is that if we can adopt a growth mindset it impacts not only our own happiness and life, it will also have a ripple effect to all around us. Which is why I'm excited about this episode, where I share my 4-step process designed to support a growth mindset in order to unleash your full potential and empower you to manifest your big dreams. I also share personal stories about my own mindset journey struggles, which keep this conversation vulnerable and real, in order to inspire you to expand your mind, ignite your passions and elevate your life. Ever feel overwhelmed as an entrepreneur? Ever look at other boss mamas and wonder how they seem to have it all figured out? Ever worry if you'll ever find the freedom you crave as an entrepreneur since it seems all you do is work hard on your business? If these questions resonate, you will want to tune into this week's episode. I talk to Diana Olynick, an engineer + business systems and VR strategist on a mission to help and inspire entrepreneurs towards the realization that streamlining their business through the right systems is the only way to achieve more freedom from their business and therefore more fulfillment in their lives. She calls this "a minimalist business" because the simpler the operations, the better results you can get as you focus more on what is important: your strategy. During our discussion, Diana shares her incredible story, including hardships like growing up very poor, not being able to find a job and even not knowing how she was going to pay her bills. Romance, kids and a global pandemic - lessons learned

In honor of Valentine's Day, I wanted to share a special episode with you where I get real about the hardest lessons I've learned when it comes to romance, kids and working through challenging changes like a global pandemic. I discuss things like setting and maintaining BOUNDARIES, how to stop being OVERLY CRITICAL, neutralizing your EXPECTATIONS and balancing your FEMININE and MASCULINE energy. I believe it's possible to find space for romance with little kids even in the middle of a major event like COVID-19. However, I can't promise it will be easy or that there is ONE quick fix. If there is anything I've learned after being with my partner for almost 9 years, it all boils down to being open to giving and receiving UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. To some this might sound cheesy, yet hear me out. I am not saying that there won't be moments where you feel everything but unconditional love for your partner. What I'm talking about is the INTENTION you have for your relationship. The intention stems from your MINDSET and it shapes your BELIEFS, VALUES, BEHAVIORS and ultimately what you SEE show up in your relationship. In short, I have learned to take 100% ACCOUNTABILITY for what I experience in my relationship. This is the REAL work. It is easier to blame the other person or highlight all their shortcomings, it is another thing to recognize your part. When both people are committed to unconditional love, it becomes a journey of finding a way to appropriately express and ask for what you desire (in the right tone and time) which requires a healthy balance of giving and receiving. Tune in to hear more about my intentions when it comes to my relationship (including my fave mantra) and how my husband and I have been growing through this wonderful (and challenging) journey of parenting as partners. I hope this offers you new perspective as it pertains to your own relationships as well as ideas on steps you can take to create more romance despite any of the chaos going on around you. This is the last episode of season 2 and I am excited to end the season talking about something we all experience and find challenging, especially in 2020 with COVID - sharing the mental load with your partner. I am joined by my husband, Janne Kyttanen, to discuss openly and honestly the journey to finding OUR balance as working parents. It hasn't been easy and we have made our share of mistakes, but one thing has always been important - which remains to be the glue that holds us together, or sometimes tears us apart - communication. In this episode, we share the different approaches for having this discussion and which one leads to better results. We look briefly at how our childhood experiences shape how we view the roles (consciously or subconsciously) and the importance of rewiring our brains as a result. We also look at relevant discussions going on in the media to shed light on the fact that there isn't anyone, whether a famous celebrity or the President of the United States, who doesn't face these struggles. We also recommend a few tips and tricks that we rely on in order to help us get closer to 50/50. And if you listen until the very end, you will find out what Janne (and maybe a lot of men) really want for Christmas. I am certain the answer won't surprise you but it might slightly irritate you. Ladies, keep an open mind and have fun with this episode. The ultimate goal is that you are inspired and encouraged to continue following your passions around motherhood and it starts by working on what that means for you and your relationship - together, breaking down any personal, cultural or societal barriers that stand in your way. Florence Scovel Shinn once said "The game of life is a game of boomerangs. Our thoughts, deeds and words return to us sooner or later with astounding accuracy." Still most of us continue to play the game with the same mindset, wondering why we aren't living the life we truly desire. So how do you overcome this? By understanding the game and taking responsibility for the power you have within yourself to create the life you desire. In this episode, I chat all about the power and struggles we have in this creative process with boss mama and friend, Reverend Liza Marquez. Liza is currently leading an 8-week program on this topic and shares that the biggest aha moment for people is “When they are asked to dream big and they realize how their limitations lie within themselves.” She says "this is a great realization because when we know our limiting beliefs it gives us a starting point to where we need to begin to do the work." Liza has been determined to find her own limiting beliefs which prevent her from dreaming big ever since her first visit to the Agape International Spiritual Center. This is also what prompted her spiritual path and to discover her life purpose and calling. Tune in to hear more about her limiting beliefs and how she was able to overcome. We also talk about many of the more challenging moments of boss mama life and the importance of finding your ebb and flow. About Liza Liza Marquez is a Reverend of New Thought Leadership and is currently studying to receive her Doctorate of Consciousness Studies from the Emerson Institute in Los Angeles. She is also a mama of two remarkable teenagers. In this episode "I didn't buy into I was too old to do it." [5.30] "We are always battling some limiting belief. We can look at it and ask ourselves do we like it or not." [6.40] "It's like the Caterpillar. Sometimes you need to build your own Cocoon and shelter. When you come out, regardless what comes your way, you know who you really are." [9.10] “We are all diving beings and our birthright is health, prosperity, creative expression and loving relationships.” [9.40] "Whatever is happening in your life, it is because it is a belief or thought in your mind." [11.00] "If I were still wearing the same shoes I was wearing when I was 5 years old, I would be in so much pain. That is what beliefs are. When we hold onto them when they no longer serve us, it causes us pain.” [12.40] “Claim your peace. Claim your journey. Claim your harmony.” [16.00] "Find the tools that get you to even (non-emotional level). Sometimes all you can do, is get to even and that is ok." [22.00] "What do you want your life to look like? It is time to get the LOVE you WANT ladies! I’m joined by love and relationship coach, Ozzie Osborne, to talk about how relationships are all about feeling cherished and how to allow that space in your relationship. If you are ready to dig deep and learn how to balance your masculine and feminine energy with your partner you won’t want to miss this. In this episode, Ozzie and I talk about the Netflix series “Emily in Paris” and how it’s exactly what this means for romanticizing being swept away by the “prince on the white horse,” how to understand your man and that a healthy relationship is all about balance but it really starts with YOU! About Ozzie Ozzie Osborne is a heart and mind coach, she exclusively developed, her method known as the RISE program. It is a program designed to align the heart and mind for better relationships. She is passionate about coaching people who tend to lean more on their mind (masculine energy) in order to align their heart (feminine energy) to redefine masculinity, so men and women can RISE together. Ozzie discovered her life purpose and passion through the darkness of divorce. After relying more on her masculine traits since childhood she learned that in order to have a better relationship with herself and others, she needed to learn how to better align her heart (feminine) and mind (masculine) in order to RISE above the patterns of behavior that no longer served her. About The RISE Program This episode with Ozzie we talk all about how to align your masculine and feminine with your partner in order to get the love you want. This all stems from her coaching method called the RISE program. The RISE program stands for “Recognize,” “Identify,” “Surrender,” “Elevate.” Over the course of 30 days she works with her clients to acknowledge that we all have both feminine and masculine energy and how it each shows up in areas of life where there might be a disconnect. From there she allows her clients to let go of the energies that are no longer serving them and elevate both energies in a way that aligns with your higher self. In this episode, Lucy and I talk about what it is like to be a business owner and a mom while learning to build a life by design. About Lucy Lucy Howman, aka, manifesting coach blondie is a mum to a little boy living in the UK and a law of attraction and manifestation coach for women. Her whole life she wanted freedom, money flow and to feel truly elated every day. At 33 she went from jobless, single, in debt with no idea what to do, to a series of fabulous temp jobs, a dream job, a best friend, a trip to LA for a VIP Manifesting wealth seminar, an abundance of money, her own business, a freedom lifestyle, and the love of her life. Talk about a 180! But it wasn’t always easy she had to let go of situations and people that weren’t good for her, break long-standing habits, change her beliefs, invest in herself, and push past many comfort zones. It was all worth it and now she is passionate about helping you learn how to master your vibration, connect to your higher-self and receive aligned guidance to get everything you want. About Manifesting You have the ability to manifest anything you desire. Simply put, manifesting is co-creating what you want with the Universe. The power to manifest lies within you. If you constantly think about what you don’t want to have, or negative emotions, then that is exactly what you will manifest. But by learning the secrets of manifesting, you can begin to change your thoughts and your life. You can remain focused on what you want to happen, boss mama! Bryce says that when you take dedicated time with yourself every single day, you’ll enjoy motherhood even more. Because motherhood can be exhausting! You hear all the time to fill your own cup first. It is a story inspired by her own experience that aims to empower parents of sick children to redefine the stigma around hospitals and what it means to create a special experience despite the worry-some circumstances. This interview is full of inspiring stories of how a family's love is all a child really needs and how to persevere through life's toughest obstacles.
