HELLO SERIES 5! Today's guest today is a DJ, producer, composer and entrepreneur, Geoff Kirkwood. Professionally known as DJ Man Power he has built a solid reputation as an eclectic producer who nimbly steps between, Disco, House and Techno whilst casually stopping off along the way for grand scale projects, such as composing for the Royal Northern Sinfonia. His reputation as a DJ has seen him selected to curate a Radio 1 essential mix and allowed him to travel the world playing in legendary spots like Glastonbury, the Panorama bar in Berlin and Burning Man Festival in the USA. But perhaps the most important and interesting thing about this journey has been the way he has taken the culmination of these experiences and invested them in his home town of North Shields. Whether it is through breathing life into an old working mans club with his regular night 'Are you affiliated' or investing in a community hub close by, where creatives can collaborate and make their art on their terms, Geoff has kept his feet firmly on the ground whilst reaching for the stars and I am very excited to welcome DJ Man Power today on What Goes Around.BEFORE THAT...We talk to Patrick Clarke about his excellent new book about Soft Cell 'Bedsit Land'.Deb gets the rap-beef update from Eamon and both of them decide that you should live your best life. The perfect pop star needs to have many attributes, rock solid songs, eye catching style, photogenic glamour and of course the type of personality that jumps off the page. Very few contenders manage to tick all of these boxes but when they do they make an impression on society that leaves an indelible mark. Alison Clarkson's alter ego Betty Boo had all these qualities in spades. Her music was magnetic, her style iconic and her personality projected confidence and rebellion, so much so that when the pop Svengali Chris Herbert decided to form the all conquering Spice Girls his brief was to find 5 Betty Boos. However Betty Boo was not the manufactured pop star you might expect, rather she was a determined young woman who studied audio production, wrote her own songs and fell in love with Hip-Hop at precisely the right time. After a period in the limelight Betty stepped back into the studio and continued to create music with the likes of Blur, Girls Aloud, Hear-say, Danni Minogue and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. Now back with a bang Betty Boo has a new album 'Rip up the rulebook' and her sound has matured but retains that dash of rebellious optimism that we all fell in love with back in the day.It really is a pleasure to welcome the one and only Betty Boo to What Goes Around. Before that Eamon gets infuriated about Stax Records and then finds refuge at a DONK Rave.Betty in Maccie D's with the PE!https://youtu.be/8PSbg7ynGqM?si=Ff5Q93SUO5jpeuOY Hosted on Acast. Our guest today is a music lover, spiritual wanderer and managerial heavyweight in the music industry. Rikki Stein can lay claim to some extraordinary feats including promoting the likes of Jimi Hendrix, The Kinks, The Animals, The Grateful Dead, Gregory Isaacs and perhaps most notably Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. This stellar resume would provide plenty of content for any musical memoir but this is just the eye catching summit of the iceberg. Moving Music reveals the full story of Rikki's life and it is a fascinating spiritual journey which touches upon some of the most important cultural events of the last 50 years - Rikki appears Forest Gump like beside a plethora of newsworthy moments and cultural flashpoints.Moving Music describes London in the swinging 60s, the effect music had in the European mainland, the blossoming of flower power in the USA from The Chelsea Hotel to Woodstock, to the bad trip of Altamont. He describes the early days of Glastonbury and how he embraced the mystical music of Morocco, hung out with Gurus and became friends with the legendary Fela Kuti. If Im honest I think we would need two shows to pack it all in so I am excited to welcome Rikki Stein to What Goes Around. Before we talk to Rikki we chat to Pop aficionado Ian Wade on his brilliantly entertaining new book 1984 The year pop went queer. We also spare a moment to talk about friend of the pod Ashley Beedle who has unfortunately fallen ill and needs a little help from his friends, Eamon and Deb are delighted to say his friends come through. Compassion is more than sympathizing with those who are suffering, it includes helping when you can. In this episode, Harriett shares a story that you can share with your children in teaching them compassion. More often than not, we don't see it, but compassion often goes full circle, as seen in this story, "What Goes Around" (author unknown).
Podcast Overview: Paul & Will discuss the accessibility of music and creative learning through technology, the challenges of building a successful career in the music industry, the importance of creating unique and inspiring music, and the impact of technology and AI onthe future of music. Paul shares insights into his own career, including the significance of his track 'For An Angel' and his approach to live performances. They discuss the blurred lines between techno and trance and Paul emphasizes the importance of focusing on the music itself rather than labels or trends. They touch on the challenges of running a record label and the changing landscape of the music industry with the rise of digital platforms. Paul shares his thoughts on social media, the future of music, and the importance of connecting with the audience. Who Is Paul Van Dyk: PvD is credited as one of the hardest working artists in electronic music, with sold-out tours that cross each continent, headline spots at every major festival, and a hugely successful recording career. With over 3 million albums sold worldwide, van Dyk travels around the world over 16 times each year to sold out performances internationally. On New Years Eve 2008/2009 Paul played Barra Beach to over 1 million people in Rio de Janero giving testament to his incredible popularity the world over. In 2008 Paul expanded into creating music for video games and movie soundtracks. His work with EA Games has resulted in mulitple releases featuring his music on Mirror's Edge and Grand Slam Tennis out in 2009. Paul has also lent his talents to remixing Batman's "Dark Knight Theme" written by Hanz Zimmer. But Paul is no stranger to high profile remixes, he has put his unique twist on Depeche Mode´s "Martyr", Justin Timberlake´s "What Goes Around" and Britney Spears "Gimme More" just to name a few. His original album In Between released in 2007 and featured collaborations with David Byrne and Jessica Sutta of the Pussycat Dolls as well as Rea Garvey of Reamon and Johnny McDaid of Vega 4.PvD received a Grammy nomination in 2005 for Best Dance/Electronic Album for his original album Reflections - this marked the first time NARAS recognized this category. His original productions from Reflections have been synced into major motion pictures such as Into the Blue, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, television´s Entertainment Tonight and MTV´s Cribs, and international ad campaigns for Motorola, HBO, Land Rover, Ski Vail and most recently for Jeep. Paul van Dyk´s touring diary remains incredibly hectic with regular globetrotting stops at major venues across the globe from New York, London, Ibiza to India, China and Singapore. In the little time remaining between all the travel, Paul van Dyk resides in Berlin where he has his own radio show "Paul van Dyk´s VONYC Sessions" which airs weekly.Join for updates: https://laylo.com/willclarke⏲ Follow Will Clarke ⏱https://djwillclarke.com/https://open.spotify.com/artist/1OmOdgwIzub8DYPxQYbbbi?si=hEx8GCJAR3mhhhWd_iSuewhttps://www.instagram.com/djwillclarkehttps://www.facebook.com/willclarkedjhttps://twitter.com/djwillclarkehttps://www.tiktok.com/@djwillclarke Hosted on Acast. ABOUT THE NEW ADS IN THE PUBLIC FEED If you've been listening to the show over the last couple of weeks, you will have noticed something new to the show. Ads placed at the beginning and ending of each episode. The show has been published regularly for almost 19 years with very few ads, outside of those for my Celtic Invasion Vacations and Patreon. I'll be honest. I'm not a huge fan of advertising…or corporations in general. And I'm still deciding whether I'm gonna continue having ads in the show. The fact is that this podcast costs a decent amount to produce as I'll tell you about later. We've built something incredible here. We have a large number of Patrons of the Podcast who support this show each and every week. It's mind - blowing the amount of support this show gets. But it doesn't cover all of my expenses. And there's so much more I'd like to do to reach more Celtic music fans, which requires money. This would be one way to help us grow our podcast. So if you don't like those ads, please become a Patron of the Podcast, because they are not included in any of the Patreon shows. THANK YOU PATRONS OF THE PODCAST! You are amazing. It is because of your generosity that you get to hear so much great Celtic music each and every week. Your kindness pays for our engineer, graphic designer, Celtic Music Magazine editor, promotion of the podcast, and allows me to buy the music I play here. It also pays for my time creating the show each and every week. As a patron, you get music - only episodes before regular listeners, vote in the Celtic Top 20, stand - alone stories, and you get a private feed to listen to the show. You get it all, without those ads at the beginning and end of the regular episodes. All that for as little as $1 per episode. Sherron Sloan emailed a photo from St Augustine Celtic Festival: "Marc, you've got to check out the St. Augustine Celtic festival sometime. That's where I first heard the Gothard sisters! It is such a fun weekend." Ryan Weyls emailed some photos: "Hi Marc, I've attached photos from a pair of shows I went to this weekend: Dàimh at the Town Crier in Beacon, NY and Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones at the Rambling House in the Bronx. The lighting at Rambling House was a bit harsh and didn't agree with my phone, so I've only included two photos. Both bands sounded excellent. I might be checking out the other version of the Wolfe Tones (the one led by Derek's brother) later this week and will send photos if I make it. Thanks for your wonderful podcast. Tim Hughes emailed photos from the Madison WI Shamrock Shuffle: "Had to listen to I&CMP during the run! Before and after pictures."
It's likely that you've heard the phrase, “What goes around comes around.” It's also likely that you've experienced this principle play out in various ways, in various arenas of your life and to varying degrees. Thankfully there is an exception to this rule, and as we conclude this series, we're going to discover what that exception is, how we can experience it, and most importantly, why experiencing that exception is possible.
Justin Timberlake is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and producer who first rose to fame as one of the lead singers for the legendary pop group *NSYNC before establishing himself as a top-tier solo artist and versatile entertainer. With his smooth vocals, slick dance moves, and dynamic stage presence, Timberlake has become one of pop music's most prolific artists and entertainers over the past two decades. Early Life and *NSYNC Justin Randall Timberlake was born in Memphis, Tennessee on January 31, 1981 to Lynn and Randall Timberlake. He was raised as a Baptist and performed often as a child, showcasing his singing talents at local talent shows and in his church choir. When Timberlake was 11, he made an appearance on the talent competition Star Search, performing country music songs. In 1993, Timberlake was recruited to join the new pop group *NSYNC along with members JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass. The group shot to stardom in the late 1990s during the boy band craze, selling over 56 million records worldwide thanks largely to Timberlake's vocals and stage presence. As the group's popularity skyrocketed, Timberlake's fame expanded beyond music thanks to appearances on shows like Nickelodeon and work as a model. Solo Career – Justified In 2002, Timberlake shocked the music world by announcing he was leaving *NSYNC to pursue a solo music career. Skepticism quickly turned to praise when Timberlake released his debut solo album Justified in November 2002. Fueled by hit singles like “Cry Me a River” and “Rock Your Body,” Justified sold over 7 million copies while showcasing Timberlake's talents as a songwriter, producer, and arranger. At the Grammys, Timberlake was nominated for Album of the Year and cemented his status as pop music's newest superstar. Continued Music Success in the 2000s On the heels of Justified, Timberlake continued achieving massive success across music, film and business in the 2000s decade. His 2006 album FutureSex/LoveSounds debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts and contained hit singles like “SexyBack”, “My Love”, and “What Goes Around...Comes Around.” For his dynamic live performances during the FutureSex/LoveSounds tour, Timberlake won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Music Direction and Technical Direction. Expanding into movies, Timberlake received praise for supporting roles in films like Alpha Dog, Black Snake Moan, and The Social Network. He also began several business ventures, launching clothing lines, co-owning restaurants, golf courses, and eventually investing in a handful of tech startups. After a musical hiatus from 2007-2012, Timberlake came back in vintage form with The 20/20 Experience (2013) and The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2 (2013). Together, they became the best-selling albums of the year and contain hit singles like “Suit & Tie” and “Mirrors.” On the back of the 20/20 albums and Experience tour, Timberlake fully re-established himself as an unparalleled force in pop music and live performing. Continued Acting, Super Bowl, Man of the Woods Embracing acting roles with equal passion as his music, Timberlake showcased both his comedic and dramatic talents in films ranging from Friends with Benefits (2011), Trouble with Curve (2012), Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) and Runner Runner (2013). In early 2018, Timberlake headlined the Super Bowl LII halftime show, marking his triumphant return to the stage of pop music's biggest spectacle 14 years after his controversial performance alongside Janet Jackson. The show featured Timberlake flawlessly singing and dancing through his classic catalog of hits both old and new. With the most-watched musical performance of all-time, the Super Bowl show affirmed Timberlake's status as an immortal pop icon. Later in 2018, Timberlake released his fifth studio album Man on the Woods which debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts. Though met with mixed reviews, the album nonetheless contained the hit single “Say Something” and incorporated country and roots influences. The accompanying Man of the Woods tour marked Timberlake's fifth world tour as he continued showcasing unique musical artistry and exceptional live performance abilities to audiences worldwide. Acting Successes and Super Bowl Return Throughout the late 2010s and early 2020s, Timberlake expanded his acting catalog by starring in films ranging from light-hearted comedies like Trolls (2016), to lead dramatic roles in Palmer (2021). His vocal performances in multiple Trolls movie soundtracks generated smash hits like “CAN'T STOP THE FEELING!” that firmly merged Timberlake's musical talents with his blossoming acting abilities. In early 2022, Timberlake again seized the global spotlight when he co-headlined the Super Bowl LVI halftime show alongside Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar. The hip-hop and R&B-centric performance marked Timberlake's third Super Bowl appearance, solidifying his unique status as a halftime show mainstay performer. Legacy With over 88 million records sold worldwide, an arm-length list of awards, dozens of smash singles, and universal acclaim for electric live performances, Justin Timberlake has firmly established himself as pop royalty over his multi-decade career. By seamlessly crossing over between music and film for two decades, Timberlake has become one of entertainment's most decorated and versatile stars. His influence across pop, R&B, hip-hop, and acting is nearly unmatched by any male entertainer of his generation. From leading the pop explosion of 1990s boy bands to dominating the charts as a renowned solo artist, Justin Timberlake has consistently reinvented himself at the cutting edge of entertainment for twenty-plus years. With his smooth voice, slick moves, unmatched stage charisma and diverse talents ranging from singing to acting, Timberlake delivers a level of popstar power matched only by luminaries like Michael Jackson and Prince. Though still actively recording music and starring in films at just 42 years old, Timberlake's vast career ensures enduring fame as one of history's preeminent entertainers. It's likely that you've heard the phrase, “What goes around comes around.” The interesting thing about this principle is, it doesn't always happen right away. It can take days weeks, months, or even years for a split-second decision to “come around.” In part 3 of this series, we're going to look at a famous story that took decades to unfold. It's a sobering reminder that actions and decisions have consequences, even when and if we don't see them or experience them right away.

No doubt you are familiar with the saying, “What goes around comes around.” What about, “What a tangled web we weave when first we try and deceive?” What goes around does come around. Deceit has a way of catching up to us and making our lives, relationships, finances, and futures complicated. When deceit catches up to us, it's easy to be angry at the consequence and while being blind to where it all started. In part 2 of this series, we're going to look at how one man's decision led to a series of complications it was almost impossible for him to get out of, until a decision someone else made led to a turning point in his life. What we see in their past will shed light on our present.
Daily Quote Friendship, "the wine of life," should, like a well-stocked cellar, be continually renewed. (James Boswell) Poem of the Day 郑风•有女同车 Beauty of Words What Goes Around, Comes Around
It's likely that you've heard the phrase, “What goes around comes around.” It's also likely that you've heard the phrase, “Things aren't always what they seem.” Things truly aren't always what they seem, nor are people. Often times it's easy to hide our true emotions and motives under a contradicting façade. It's often because of what people see on the outside that makes “what comes around” seem so unfair. In part one of this series, we're going to look at a famous story, but a character who often goes overlooked because he was a master of disguise.
Well hello pod fans, here's another beautiful chat about the greatest thing in all our lives, music. This time we have a true DJ legend, the incredible DJ Food is in the house. DJ Food aka Strictly Kev has been making breaks beats and visual treats for over 30 years now. His work with Ninja Tunes in the 90s brought so much joy and helped establish the label as one of the UK's most important imprints. Kev was Trip-Hop before it had the name, he was a pioneer of audio visual effects, supported the Beastie Boys at Brixton Academy and remixed Matt Johnson's The The with the kind of deft touch that few could match. Not only that he was genuinely one of the nicest people we have had on the show and even came over a night out! I think you are going to love this interview. Before all that though we are going to discuss bawdy women with Judith Owen, Judith is an incredible blues singer who has a new LP out celebrating the pioneering women of the the blues who laid the foundation for the likes of Megan Thee Stallion and Lil Kim long before women could even vote! At the top of the show Deb and Eamon discuss the their T-Shirt game and ask why men are so annoying. That's What Goes Around this week and we hope you love it!BIG thanks to @Marke23 for hooking us up. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

John Golden answered the question, What are you doing while listening?: "Often working BUT usually play the St Paddy's episode for the family feast." James J. Grefig replied: "Hi Marc, This St. Patrick's Day I hope I'll be listening to your podcasts." John Mahony replied to the Celtic Music Magazine: "Hey Marc, Thanks for everything you do to promote Irish and Celtic culture! I usually listen while working on technical stuff. It relaxes me and helps me keep up with newer bands. For St. Patrick's Day, I will be going to a lower - key party rather than hitting the bars, though I might stop at one or two. I help produce live Irish and Celtic music shows year - round, so I guess the answer is that I'm just doing more of the same!" Edward Birdsall emailed: "Greetings; What am I doing while listening - out for daily walk if it is not raining or snowing here in Georgia (1 - 2hours long) also I listen while donating platelets at the Red Cross which I do on average every 6 weeks which means 2.5 - 3hrs of show for that " Chris Raisin replied to the question, 'What are you doing while listening?': Usually lying in bed with my eyes closed (but not asleep). And for Patrick's Day? "Probably the same as I do for any other day (being 73 years old, single and living alone having lost contact with all my friends due to those infernal lockdowns we had in Melbourne." He's celebrating "By just listening to your great podcasts each time they are issued and remembering back to my days as an energetic Scottish (yes, not Irish) Country Dancer and Highland dancer (not so good at the Highland stuff…LOL). I still have a kilt in my closet (a bit moth eaten now) which I ceased fitting into about 30 years ago. Keep up your great sessions, and I look forward to (I hope) a bonus session. Slainte!"
What Goes Around returns with another well balanced look at the world of music. In this episode we attempt to find equilibrium between the beautiful folk music of Kate Stables from This Is The Kit and the spittle festooned twin punk worlds of Agnostic Front and The Anti-Nowhere League. Somewhere carefully balanced in the middle stands our Deb as she finally moves to Manchester and gets her dream job. Not many podcasts haver this much range listeners. Kate Stables from This is the Kit talks to us from her Paris apartment as her 6th album drops to enormous critical acclaim. We discuss listening, writing and mind blowing moments as the Parisian emergency services busy about their riot happy city. Deb talks about her new life up north and the wee job she landed at 6Music.Eamon returns to the world of music documentaries with two very different takes on the world of punk. From the US the 'Godfathers of Hardcore' Agnostic Front and from Royal Tunbridge Wells, The Anti-Nowhere League. Welcome back to What Goes Around! This is the dance music special and we have the Crowd Controller himself DJ Billy 'Daniel' Bunter, if you are not familiar with this Rave legend then you really need to understand what a stalwart of the Rave scene he is. Daniel started his DJ career at the tender age of 14 playing the headline set at one of Londons most infamous clubs Labyrinth/2000AD at The 4 Aces in Dalston. Daniel grew up in the DJ booth watching the Rave scene evolve through many, many changes in style, mood and professionalism. It is estimated he has played to hundreds of thousands of people over the last 30+ years and remains a real force for positivity all these years later. So much so Daniel has founded a mental health charity to help those who are struggling in these difficult times. He has an incredible story to tell and we are delighted to have him on the show.We are also delighted to welcome Emma Warren to the show, a hugely experienced writer on music culture Emma has now written one of the finest books on music and dancing we have ever read, 'Dance you way home: A journey through the dance floor' is a transformative tome on dance music culture which serves the initiated and those that find dance culture baffling equally well. IF you have never got the dance bug this book will explain why it affects people so powerfully and if you have loved the clubbing life for years you will discover a beautiful love letter to the culture. It really is that good and Emma is delightful company.Plus Deb and Eamon are back discussing how the story of rave has been twisted and focused in many misleading ways, thankfully Eamon has found a missing piece of the puzzle in the form of an audio series that tells the Rave story from the perspective of the Midlands.Daniel's excellent mental health charity can be found here:https://safespacemovement.co.uk/Emma's wonderful book can be found here:https://www.faber.co.uk/product/9780571366033-dance-your-way-home/Reflection Media Art's excellent audio series by Daylight Robbery Radio Docs can be heard here:https://www.reflectionmediaart.com/films-1Like and subscribe and all that jazz. What Goes Around, Comes Around
Hey pod people, we are back! Not only that but we are celebrating our 50th episode of What Goes Around! What a long strange trip it's been but you ain't seen nothing yet. The new series kicks off with a guest we have been after since the very beginning, and at last we can welcome Jason Williamson of the legendary Sleaford Mods to the podcast. Never short of an opinion and alway good for a quote Jason along with his musical partner Andrew Fearn have been making incendiary political music that is the embodiment of punk whilst borrowing from the world's of HipHop and Dance. Jason sat down to discuss some of his Phonographic Memories with us as the brand new Sleaford Mods album "UK Grim" is released and all we can say is it was well worth the wait! Before all that though Deb and Eamon celebrate their 50th episode by looking back at some of their favourite moments from the last 3 years.PLUSWe talk to author and friend of the show Wesley Doyle about his brilliant new book "Conform to deform: The weird and wonderful world of Some Bizarre". The book tells the story of Some Bizarre Records the seminal label run by maverick svengali Stevo who discovered the likes of Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, The The and many more.AND THERES MORE!We are delighted to have author and punk legend Johnny Robb on the show! Johnny takes time out of his hectic schedule to discuss his new book "Goth: The art of darkness". In this excellent tome Johnny traces the roots of the Gothic movement from the fall of Rome to Bauhaus and beyond. It really is an epic piece of work and Johnny is an enthralling raconteur. Please like, subscribe and spread the word about our lovely little podcast. Hosted on Acast. Dating seems to be one of the most accessible things in the digital age and also one of it's biggest pain points. Not only in the superficiality of design but also in the lack of real connection through apps and platforms. We've grown accustomed to obscure ways of choosing a mate and may have even gotten ourselves in a place of fantasy that's proving hard to escape from. This episode dives into the shadowy bits of dating in this modern age as well as our new favorite dating past time and faux pas...ghosting. We discuss the potential reasons for ghosting, what it's like to be ghosted, and how we can heal on both ends of the spectrum. Please subscribe, follow, and share! Once again What Goes Around is back with a brilliant guest, Jah Wobble. Wobble was the bass player in the original line up of Public Image Ltd with John Lydon and Keith Levine. He has written some of the all time classic basslines including PiL's 'Poptones' and Primal Scream's 'Higher than the sun'. Jah came up through the punk revolution and set the style for Post-Punk before moving off into World Music and becoming an ambassador for mental health. A true East End geezer Wobble shares his memories and wisdom with us. Before all that though we get a classic rant from Deb about her vinyl loving neighbour and Eamon bemoans those music lovers that simply stop listening to new music and instead spend their timing moaning about the line ups for festivals they are only ever going to watch on TV. It's all good WGA fun and should pass an hour and a bit of anyones time without incident. What Goes Around? So much! Today we are joined by an indie legend whose music proved as ethereal and inventive as it was catchy and intelligent. Miki Berenyi is the founder member of the iconic 4AD band Lush, she is a singer and songwriter famed for mixing together incredible soundscapes with catchy melodies. Their sound evolved from the art house of shoe gaze to the stadium sized bravado of Brit Pop but their aesthetic was always much more interesting than any label they were saddled with. Miki has now written a book about her life and times in Lush and beyond. Boomshanka! This week we are delighted to welcome Nigel Planer to the podcast. Best known as the loveable hippy Neil from the classic British comedy The Young Ones, Nigel scored a number 2 hit single with 'Hole in my shoe' and hit the number one spot with Cliff Richard and the cast of The Young Ones in 1986. Although he may not be a young one anymore he has continued to carve out a glittering career in show business starring in several west end musicals, TV shows and earning himself a reputation as a successful author and songwriter. Nigel tells us all about his journey from being a humble grave digger to the giddy heights of show biz. Also in the show this week we talk to Sean Yeaton from the brilliant US band Parquet Courts about the relentless grind of being in a touring band. Sean is a delight and shares his stories from the road with us in a candid and hilarious interview before Parquet Courts headline shows at Brixton Academy and Green Man Festival. Before all that Deb tries to tempt Eamon away on the high seas with an unusual voyage of musical discovery but he is less than impressed. We hope you enjoy it all as much as we did making it. Please spread the word and tell your friends about What Goes Around. If you enjoy Nigel Planer's music then please support his Bandcamp page:https://nigelplaner.bandcamp.com/You can also help Nigel get his book published by pledging money on his Unbound fundraiser:https://unbound.com/books/jeremiah-bourne-in-time/For more information on Parquet Courts and their upcoming tour visit their website:https://www.parquet-courts.com/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

I've taken to having breakfast and waiting for the temperature to rise a bit. I've enjoyed the walks with no wind and warmer weather. My air pods and smart phone are working fine so I'm listening to your podcasts. Thanks for posting new ones weekly. I've been watching various remodeling projects and water features installed in peoples front yards." Leonard L. Streeper emailed a photo: "Dear Mr. Gunn, I love your show and thank you so much for bringing me music that I love. My only criticism is you weren't around in the late 80s when I fell in love with this genre of music and records were as rare as unicorns. I like to write fantasy books while listening. The music helps keep me in the mindset while covering up the sounds of the modern world. Once again, thank you so much for all you do. Sincerely," Fabio Fiorelli emailed: "Hi Mark! In one of your episodes I think you were looking at irish and celtic italian bands. I'd like to promote a band from my hometown, called "Whisky Trail". That means it is original songs fusing pop culture themes with Irish drinking songs. There are some traditional music on the album. But mostly, it features songwriting by Marc Gunn with guests including: Screeched Inn, The Muckers, Jamie Haeuser, Sam Gillogly, Nathan Deese, and Mikey Mason. Selcouth means, “when everything is strange and different, yet you find it marvelous anyway.” The album is not completely Celtic and it's not just science fiction and fantasy. It's a fusion of the two. It's heartfelt and a lot of fun. It's now on sale in my Bandcamp store. Check out Selcouth now. I have now had enough, Of being told what is right and wrong. I am a powerful sovereign being, And will follow the beat of my drum. It was really around December of 2020 and January of this year that Jupiter and Saturn conjoined, and choices, decisions, opportunities, and restrictions were started, agreed to, or initiated. Now, through Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius, we are beginning to see some of the feedback, reverberation, and consequences of the actions taken throughout the year. This is on both a personal and collective level. "What Goes Around, Comes Around," and we will all be getting the results of our efforts returned now, for better or ill. On the collective level, we have been further repressed, subjugated, disempowered, and disregarded by the governments who are owned by special interests. This is affecting us on economic (financial), emotional (more stress and a constant barrage of bad news), mental (anxiety caused by information overload and a constantly changing legal terrain), and spiritual levels (family, friends, and loved based relationships breaking up along with everything else makes it harder to clear the mind and connect). The astrology of the coming few months reflects an uneasy energy building that wants to be released, freedoms regained, lies exposed, and perpetrators held accountable for the damage they have done and are continuing to do. If the populace's division, misinformation, and abuse escalates further, revolution is a very real possibility. A revolution may serve to not only restore stolen liberties but install new systems and institutions that guarantee this type of unhealthy, greed and power based, patriarchal capitalism, is laid to rest once and for all. Let's center ourselves in our power and help manifest the best future for all! Blessings!
