Goin' Off w/ Daren "Rap Critic" Jackson & (Marc) Mues features discussions about music news as well as social issues with every episode featuring an album review with some of them being requested by our supporters on Patreon.
The Goin Off Podcast is a must-listen for any fan of rap and hip hop. Hosted by Mues and the Rap Critic, this podcast offers insightful discussions, hilarious commentary, and a deep appreciation for the genre. Regardless of whether you agree with their opinions or not, these lads always explain themselves and never fail to entertain. One particular episode that had me in stitches was their "weird Christmas rap album" episode - I've never laughed harder.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is how it introduces listeners to albums they may not have discovered otherwise. As someone who has been following Rap Critic on YouTube for a while, I was ecstatic to hear that he had ventured into podcasting. The show has pointed me towards some incredible albums that I might have overlooked otherwise. It's refreshing to listen to two individuals who genuinely respect and enjoy the genre, providing simple, interesting, and thoughtful discussions.
The hosts' ability to discuss important matters in hip hop and rap today is another highlight of the podcast. They tackle social issues and pop culture with an informative yet lighthearted style. It feels like having a conversation with friends who finally understand where you're coming from when it comes to rap/hip hop. Additionally, they even take requests from their listeners on songs to review (though it seems Patreon requests are prioritized), adding a level of engagement and interactivity that enhances the listening experience.
On the downside, one could argue that there is room for improvement in terms of diverse perspectives or guests invited onto the show. While Mues and the Rap Critic do an excellent job on their own, incorporating different voices could add depth and provide varying viewpoints on topics discussed in each episode.
In conclusion, The Goin Off Podcast is an absolute gem in the world of hip hop podcasts. Mues and the Rap Critic offer a perfect blend of entertainment and enlightening conversations about the genre. Their ability to explore important matters in hip hop, introduce listeners to new albums, and maintain an engaging and humorous tone make this podcast a must-listen. Whether you're a die-hard rap fan or just dipping your toes into the genre, this podcast will leave you informed, entertained, and wanting more.

Shifting gears, we start an investigation into 2008 O&A, following the Obama campaign heading into the November election. In a bonus twist, Anthony is now dating CW11's traffic reporter, Jill Nicolini, and no one can believe it. This includes permanent third mic Jim Norton, and other comedian regulars including Bob Kelly, Lewis Black, Adam Ferrara, and Jeff Ross. Anthony is showing emotions AND confesses he is in love. Could this have been a turning point?
00:00:00 Anthony's arrest 00:08:04 January 19, 2016 feat. Ron Bennington 01:05:08 January 2, 2018 feat. Ron Bennington & Owen BenjamÃn 02:37:37 January 3, 2018 feat. Ron Bennington & Colin Flaherty On this special, extra large 10th episode, we take a look at 3 episodes of the Anthony Cumia Show featuring long-time friend and collogue Ron Bennington, one half of the Ron and Fez Show. On January 19, 2016, Ronnie offers some insight shortly following Anthony's arrest for domestic violence. Skipping ahead to the beginning of 2018, Ron is back filling in for Anthony's then co-host Artie Lange, only a couple days after Anthony's mother passed away. They are joined by antisemitic comedian Owen Benjamin as Owen and Ron try different approaches of helping Anthony through another difficult time in his life. The following day, Ron is back again, but this time joined by author Colin Flaherty. Things heat up as arguments begin to arise between Ron and Colin leaving Anthony frozen with anxiety, unsure how to fix this problem. We learn a lot about Anthony in this episode, but above all, we learn he's a bad host incapable of running a show without someone like Opie helping steer the ship.

WNEW is celebrating its anniversary! What better than to start picking fights with other DJ's on air? We wrap up 1998 this episode discussing O&A's on-air fight with Carol Miller as well as the time the wife of a formerly fired DJ called in to sell her soon-to-be ex-husband's memorabilia. We also meet a new character in Ben Sparks and learn his unfortunate nickname. We also get a grim look into Anthony's childhood and how he lost his virginity. Opie and Anthony believe they deserve raises. They face disappointing offers, but without any other offers on the table, the begrudgingly re-sign with WAAF.
