He is credited with popularizing hip hop in Middle America and is regarded as among the greatest rappers of all time. His success is considered to have broken racial barriers to the acceptance of white rappers in popular music. While much of his transgressive work during the late 1990s and early 2000s made him a controversial figure, he came to be a representation of popular angst of the American underclass and has been cited as influencing many musical artists. His most successful songs on the U. S. Billboard Hot 100 include "The Real Slim Shady", "Without Me", "Lose Yourself", "Not Afraid", "Love the Way You Lie", "The Monster", "Godzilla" and "Houdini".After the release of his debut album Infinite (1996) and the extended play Slim Shady EP (1997), Eminem signed with Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment and subsequently achieved mainstream popularity in 1999 with The Slim Shady LP. His next two releases, The Marshall Mathers LP (2000) and The Eminem Show (2002), were worldwide successes and nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, the latter becoming the best-selling album worldwide of 2002. After the release of his next album, Encore (2004), Eminem went on hiatus, largely due to a prescription drug addiction. He returned to the music industry with the releases of Relapse (2009) and Recovery (2010), the latter becoming the best-selling album worldwide of 2010. He then released the U. S. number-one albums The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (2013), Revival (2017), Kamikaze (2018), Music to Be Murdered By (2020), and The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) (2024).Eminem was also a member of the hip hop groups New Jacks, Soul Intent, Outsidaz, and D12, and has collaborated with fellow Detroit-based rapper Royce da 5'9" as the duo Bad Meets Evil. Eminem played a dramatized version of himself in the 2002 musical drama film 8 Mile. "Lose Yourself", a song from its soundtrack, topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 12 weeks—the most for a solo rap song—and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, making him the first hip hop artist ever to win the award. He also co-founded Shady Records, which helped launch the careers of artists such as D12, 50 Cent, and Obie Trice, and established his own Sirius XM Radio channel, Shade 45.Eminem is among the best-selling music artists of all time, with estimated worldwide sales of over 220 million records. He was the best-selling music artist in the United States for the 2000s, placing third for the 2010s. He was the first artist to have ten albums consecutively debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, and has had five number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show, Curtain Call: The Hits (2005), "Lose Yourself", "Love the Way You Lie", and "Not Afraid" have all been certified Diamond or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). He has won numerous awards, including 15 Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, 17 Billboard Music Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and an MTV Europe Music Global Icon Award. Billboard named him the "Artist of the Decade (2000–2009)", and Rolling Stone named him one of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time" and "100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time". Originally signed by major label Columbia Records in 1999 with a planned release of an album called “Power of the Dollar”. A young 50 Cent intended on tapping into underground hype with a lead single called ‘How to Rob' in August 1999. Within a year of How To Rob's release, 50 Cent was dropped from the label, and the album was canceled after he was shot nine times in Queens, New York in May 2000. After this blacklisting, 50 Cent had to look for alternative locations to record new music, as he was too hot and too controversial of a figure by the time he recovered from the shooting. According to records obtained by The Smoking Gun - 50 Cent was not able to find work in the United States, so he packed up shop and began working on independent releases in the Great White North - In Canada he recorded two known mixtapes called Guess Who's Back, and 50 Cent is the Future. As legend has it, Eminem got his hands on a copy of “Guess Who's Back” through 50's attorney, who was working with Eminem's manager, Paul Rosenberg. They liked what they saw, 50 signed with Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment, and Eminem's Shady Records... and 50's journey to superstardom began. Join Myles Galloway as he tells you the true story of 50 Cent's 'In Da Club' complete with unearthed footage from 50 Cent at the time. 50 Cent Quotes on Life, Success & Power (Wisdom Radio) Who is 50 Cent? 50 Cent (Curtis James Jackson) is an American rapper, actor, producer, and entrepreneur. He began a musical career and in 2000 he produced Power of the Dollar for Columbia Records, but days before the planned release he was shot and the album was never released. In 2002, after Jackson released the compilation album Guess Who's Back?, he was discovered by Eminem and signed to Shady Records, under the aegis of Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records. With the help of Eminem and Dr. Dre (who produced his first major-label album, Get Rich or Die Tryin'), Jackson became one of the world's best selling rappers and rose to prominence with East Coast hip hop group G-Unit (which he leads de facto). In 2003, he founded G-Unit Records, signing his G-Unit associates Young Buck, Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. Jackson had similar commercial and critical success with his second album, The Massacre, which was released in 2005. He released his fifth studio album, Animal Ambition, in 2014 and as of 2019 is working on his sixth studio album, Street King Immortal. During his career Jackson has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and won several awards, including a Grammy Award, thirteen Billboard Music Awards, six World Music Awards, three American Music Awards and four BET Awards. He has pursued an acting career, appearing in the semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005), the Iraq War film Home of the Brave (2006) and Righteous Kill (2008). B. Cox & J. Owe review 50 Cent's explosive debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin' as it turns 20. After a successful run as a protege of Run DMC's Jam Master Jay, the Queens youth turned drug dealer turned emcee was set to make his mark after series of setbacks including being shot multiple times, being dropped by his label while having his debut album scrapped and being blacklisted from the industry. After getting back on his feet and releasing several independent mixtapes, his free agency prompted one of the rap game's most competitive bidding wars. Dr. Dre and Eminem emerged victorious, signing him to a $1 million deal to Shady Records and Aftermath Entertainment and prepared to record his debut album. Working under the masterful guidance and tutelage of Dre and Eminem, the album was also boosted by production from the likes of several standout producers such as Sha Money XL, J-Praize, Rockwilder, Megahertz, Dirty Swift, Mike Elizondo, Darrell "Digga" Branch and others. The multi-layered, multi faceted production approach was the perfect soundtrack behind 50s trademark voice that laced the tracks with a mix of wittty bars and gritty street tales. He was also assisted with features from the likes of Eminem, Nate Dogg and his fellow G-Unit comrades Lloyd Banks, Young Buck and Tony Yayo. The debut week was massive, selling over 870,000 copies, becoming at the time the biggest debut for a hip-hop album ever. the album was boosted by many singles, including the Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles "In the Club" and "21 Questions" along with the Top 10 hit "P.I.M.P". "In the Club" became one of the most successful hip-hop and crossover singles in the 2000s. The album would also become RIAA-certified 9x platinum. It has led to 50 Cent being one of the most successful hip-hop artists of all time and led to his additional successes in branding, entertainment and liquor manufacturing among many other ventures.Visit The Vault Classic Music Reviews Onlinewww.vaultclassicpod.comSupport The Vault Classic Music Review on Buy Me A Coffeehttps://www.buymeacoffee.com/vaultclassicpodBuild Your Own Amazing Podcast Website In Less Than 5 Minutes!https://www.podpage.com/?via=ivecre8Show NotesCrack Magazine: The undeniable impact of 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin'" https://crackmagazine.net/article/long-reads/retrospective-get-rich-die-tryin/OkayPlayer: The secret history of 50 Cent's "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'" https://www.okayplayer.com/originals/secret-history-50-cent-get-rich-or-die-tryin-lp.htmlPassionWeiss: The Diamond In The Dirt-50 Cent's 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin' Turns 20 https://www.passionweiss.com/2023/01/31/the-diamond-in-the-dirt-50-cents-get-rich-or-dyin-turns-20/HipHopXXIV: 50 Cent Responds to Jay-Z's 20 Year Old Warning https://hiphopxxiv.com/50-cent-responds-to-jay-zs-20-year-old-warning/Rock The Bells: Classic Albums: 50 Cent 'Get Rich Or Die Tryin'' https://rockthebells.com/articles/classic-albums-get-rich-or-die-tryin-by-50-cent/Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-vault-classic-music-reviews-podcast/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

After the release of his next album, Encore (2004), Eminem went on hiatus in 2005, largely due to a prescription drug addiction. He returned to the music industry four years later with the release of Relapse (2009) and Recovery was released the following year. Recovery was the best-selling album worldwide of 2010, making it Eminem's second album, after The Eminem Show in 2002, to be the best-selling album of the year worldwide. In the following years, he released the US number one albums The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (2013), Revival (2017), Kamikaze (2018) and Music to Be Murdered By (2020).Eminem made his debut in the film industry with the musical drama film 8 Mile (2002), playing a fictionalized version of himself, and his track "Lose Yourself" from its soundtrack won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, making him the first hip hop artist ever to win the award. Eminem has made cameo appearances in the films The Wash (2001), Funny People (2009) and The Interview (2014) and the television series Entourage (2010). He has also developed other ventures, including Shady Records, a joint venture with manager Paul Rosenberg, which helped launch the careers of artists such as 50 Cent, D12 and Obie Trice, among others. He has also established his own channel, Shade 45, on Sirius XM Radio. In addition to his solo career, Eminem was a member of the hip hop group D12. He is also known for collaborations with fellow Detroit-based rapper Royce da 5'9"; the two are collectively known as Bad Meets Evil.Eminem is among the best-selling music artists of all time, with estimated worldwide sales of over 220 million records. He was the best-selling music artist in the United States of the 2000s and the best-selling male music artist in the United States of the 2010s, third overall. Billboard named him the "Artist of the Decade (2000–2009)". He has had ten number-one albums on the Billboard 200—which all consecutively debuted at number one on the chart, making him the first artist to achieve this—and five number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. The Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show, Curtain Call: The Hits (2005), "Lose Yourself", "Love the Way You Lie" and "Not Afraid" have all been certified Diamond or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Rolling Stone has included him in its lists of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time and the 100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time. He has won numerous awards, including 15 Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, 17 Billboard Music Awards, an Academy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award and an MTV Europe Music Global Icon Award. In 2022, Eminem was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

onway The Machine without a doubt delivered top-tier bars when he ripped through his L.A. Leakers freestyle, so of course, Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk had to follow up the moment with a sit-down moment to detail the New York native's ‘God Don't Make Mistakes' album. Being his Shady Records debut, Conway chops it up about the opportunities he's had along the way, including being a part of Griselda to now having a solo released through the Eminem-backed label. Conway admits that while he's seen much success, there were times he doubted himself as the sport of hip-hop could sometimes be viewed as an art form reserved for younger generations, but he never gave up on himself. Conway continues the interview discussing what inspired his hustle out of Buffalo, New York, his recording process for his new album, and more. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On this episode, Nick and Kyle hold the fort down and kick things off by report card rating this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar & Mary J. Blige with most viewers saying that they enjoyed the show with some criticizing the show of it being too short to Eminem kneeling during the set. We give our thoughts on the set and drop some easter eggs on some things you didn't know during the performance. Next up, Kanye West (yeah we're talking about him again) had a roller coaster like two weeks since the last episode with the break up of him and Julia Fox (February 14th), him and Kid Cudi on bad terms again and him promoting Donda 2 and telling fans that the album will be exclusively on Stem Players for the low price of $200. But the (one sided social media) war of words has taken place against him and SNL castmate/Kim Kardashian's boyfriend, Pete Davidson. With all the threats against Pete and with some being thrown at Kim's way, we ask if it's time for Kim to start seeing a judge in order to stop Kanye from making threats against the couple. After that, with Megan thee Stallion's court case just getting started against Tory Lanez after he shot her back in 2020. With Tory giving his side on the incident and "apologizing" we wonder if Tory will face jail time for what happened back in 2020. Later with Buffalo, NY rapper Conway the Machine releasing his latest album God Don't Make Mistakes out now, he recently said that he is no longer apart of both Griselda and Shady Records after fulfilling his contractual agreement with both labels. In this episode of the One More Time Podcast, Tigg talks about Grip signing to Shady Records, running the race with blinders on, willingness to be flexible and more!Tigg is the manager for Shady Record's most recent signee, Grip. After his first stint in management didn't work out, he packed his bags and headed for New York City. While working oddball jobs and then alongside Premium Pete, Grip sent his album "Porch" before it was released and Tigg was immediately sold on the vision. While putting plans in motion is key, Tigg is big on being willing to adapt to new opportunities even if they weren't part of the original plan. With help from Brent Faiyaz's manager, Ty Baisden, Tigg found himself on a Zoom call negotiating deal terms with Shady Records' Paul Rosenberg. Grip's "I Died For This!?" was just the beginning - can't wait to see what they do next!
