Trump indicated all week that if Congress did not finalize a stimulus deal, he would take executive action to provide relief to the American people. However, one thing missing from today's executive orders—second stimulus checks. There is bipartisan support in Congress for a $1,200 stimulus check, and Trump supports a second round of stimulus checks too. Trump has even said second stimulus checks could be more than than $1,200. However, his executive orders do not include any checks. Social unrest has become a major topic in the United States. Civil disorder, also known as civil disturbance or civil unrest, is an activity arising from a mass act of civil disobedience in which the participants become hostile toward authority, and authorities incur difficulties in maintaining public safety and order, over the disorderly crowd. While Black Lives Matter Movement is getting the attention it deserves, some would argue it should be CANCELED. Black Lives Matter is an international human rights movement, originating from within the African-American community, which campaigns against violence and systemic racism towards black people. Candace Amber Owens Farmer is an American conservative commentator and political activist. She is known for her pro-Trump activism that began around 2016 after being initially very critical of Trump and the Republican Party and for her criticism of Black Lives Matter and of the Democratic Party. She is most famous for her BLEXIT program which persuades Black democrats to go Republican. More recently, in the news for her radical comments not the tragic death of George Floyd. The conservative commentator's comments were so ill-timed and outlandish that I had to respond. In a scathing commentary, I explain why Owens and those who ascribe to the same sort of damaging rhetoric must be countered. If violence is a political language, white Americans are native speakers. But black people are also fluent in the act of resistance. Attucks stood up to British tyranny. The numerous slave rebellions led by Gabriel Prosser, Charles Deslondes, and Nat Turner were all attempts to gain freedom with force. Throughout the 20th century, black Americans armed themselves in the face of white mobs and organized protection for their freedom marches. Accordingly, when George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and so many others were killed by police, black people and their allies chose to rise up. State prosecutors have charged former police officer Derek Chauvin with murder and manslaughter after video shows him kneeling on the neck of George Floyd. State prosecutors charged Derek Chauvin with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. Minnesota's sentencing guidelines recommend 12 1/2 years for a conviction on the murder count and four years on the manslaughter charge. According to Minnesota law, murder in the third degree is committed when there isn't intent or premeditation. A typical use of the third-degree murder charge would be used against a person who fired a gun into a crowd or drove through a crowded sidewalk. "Whoever, without intent to effect the death of any person, causes the death of another by perpetrating an act eminently dangerous to others and evincing a depraved mind, without regard for human life, is guilty of murder in the third degree," Minnesota statue says. History has taught me she is likely right. A riot maybe temporary violence, quick and dirty, but it could become a revolution.
