Trained as a designer, Sukhwant Jhaj uses design thinking to discover new solutions for incremental and disruptive challenges facing higher education. In his role as vice provost at Arizona State University, Jhaj pursues ways to create greater levels of student success for all learners across all degree types. He works to identify new ways the university can improve learning outcomes, and helps ASU set a new standard of quality and accessibility that can be shared with institutions of higher education around the country and the world. In addition to his role in the Office of the University Provost, Jhaj is the dean of University College, an instrumental and significant part of ASU's efforts to enhance retention, graduation, and overall student achievement. Jhaj is also a professor of practice in The Design School within the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts.Jhaj is an active design researcher and has received funding from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Association for Public and Land Grants Universities and government agencies. Andres Marquez-Lara is the Founder and CEO of UFacilitate, a global facilitation company that works with foundations, NGOs, and multilateral (inter-governmental) organizations to help their leaders deal with what he calls the “messy human stuff”—egos, cultural differences, miscommunication, conflict—that put their missions at risk. The Covid Inquiry led by Baroness Hallett has concluded that the UK did too little too late in response to Covid-19, that the lockdown could have been avoided if steps such as social distancing and isolating had been introduced earlier. In a new report 'Care, courage, change,' the World Health Organisation has conducted analysis of the various health and support policies for survivors of violence in the 53 countries of the WHO European Region. The report reveals that almost one in three women and girls aged 15-years and older, will experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime - but countries' health sectors are failing nearly one in three survivors. Anita Rani talks to Melanie Hyde, WHO Europe's Gender, Equality and Human Rights Technical Officer, author of the report.Poetry, love and an incurable cancer diagnosis are the themes of a new film looking at the relationship between the acclaimed spoken word poet and activist Andrea Gibson and their wife, writer Megan Falley. Jeffrey Epstein was a steady political donor for years, spreading money across both parties while cultivating influence. From 1989 to 2003, he gave more than $139,000 to Democrats and over $18,000 to Republicans, often in relatively small increments that added up over time. His contributions included donations to figures like Chuck Schumer in the 1990s and a $50,000 check to Bill Richardson's 2002 gubernatorial campaign in New Mexico. Beyond politics, Epstein also positioned himself as a benefactor in academic and cultural circles, with his foundations giving more than $30 million to universities and institutions, furthering his attempts to launder legitimacy and credibility through philanthropy.Epstein's financial ties also reached organizations connected to the United Nations. The International Peace Institute (IPI), a think tank closely tied to the UN, received donations from his network, prompting scandal years later when it was revealed the contributions were not fully disclosed. In 2020, IPI president Terje Rød-Larsen resigned after admitting to accepting Epstein-linked funds, even as he claimed they represented only a small portion of IPI's budget. Reports also show Epstein helped facilitate or influence funding for UN-affiliated projects alongside other wealthy donors, such as through connections with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Turkish persecution of Christians heats up The Turkish Association of Protestant Churches reports Christians in Turkey faced increased persecution last year. The persecution often came in the form of hateful speech either in person or online. And, iIn two cases, assailants fired guns at church buildings.  Turkey also banned many foreign Christians from entering the country in recent years. Nine of these Christians appealed the ban. However, a court ruled against them and published their names. Media outlets branded the Christians as enemies of the state. Many social media comments called for them to be put to death. Turkey is ranked 45th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of the most difficult countries worldwide to be a Christian.  2.5 million acres of European Union burned The European Union is experiencing its worst wildfire season since records began in 2006. Nearly 2.5 million acres of land have burned so far this year. Spain and Portugal account for over two-thirds of that area. Between the two countries, over 1.5 million acres have burned with much of it happening in just two weeks. Birth rates in England and Wales continue to fall The U.K. Office for National Statistics reported last week that birth rates fell to a new low in England and Wales. Other developed countries are also seeing low birth rates like the United States, France, and Italy. However, there appears to be a political gap in fertility. John Burn-Murdoch of the Financial Times wrote, “From the US to Europe and beyond, people who identify as conservative are having almost as many children as they were decades ago. The decline is overwhelmingly among those on the progressive left, in effect nudging each successive generation's politics further to the right.” Quebec, Canada to ban public prayers Quebec, Canada's largest province, is planning to ban public prayer. Quebec's Secularism Minister Jean-François Roberge said, “The premier of Quebec has given me the mandate to strengthen secularism . . . This fall, we will therefore introduce a bill to strengthen secularism in Quebec, in particular by banning street prayers.” The move comes in response to Muslim prayer gatherings. However, it would apply to all religions including Christianity. Nearly 65% of Quebec's population identifies as Christian. Psalm 10:4 says, “The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek [the Lord]. All his thoughts are, ‘There is no God.'” Univ of Michigan fired Christian doctor who objected to transgender surgeries In the United States, a federal court ruled in favor of a Christian in a religious liberty case. Back in 2021, the University of Michigan Health-West fired Valerie Kloosterman for her beliefs. The Christian physician assistant refused to support transgender procedures or pronoun usage. The latest ruling allows her case against the university to move forward.  Kayla Toney, counsel at First Liberty Institute, said, “Today's decision is a reckoning for institutions that discriminate and punish caring people of faith.” Bill Gates funds embalming of deceased newborns to harvest organs Modernity News reports the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is funding a new gruesome project. The project involves embalming deceased newborn babies who died in neonatal intensive care units. Researchers would harvest tissues and organs from the babies for artificial intelligence development. LifeNews noted, “The Gates Foundation's involvement is seen as particularly troubling given its history of funding abortion.” 150th anniversary of Japan Bible Society And finally, the Japan Bible Society is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. In the 1870s, American and European Bible societies established branches in Japan. These early Bible societies translated the Scriptures into Japanese in the 1880s. Their work laid the foundation for the current Japan Bible Society. Bible distribution in Japan picked up in the 1940s as 2.3 million copies of the Bible were distributed. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Women in India raped, murdered, and secretly buried A temple maintenance man in India is under arrest, after he testified of hundreds of women who were allegedly raped, murdered, and secretly buried around the small religious town of Dharmasthala. The BBC reports that nearly 100 bone fragments of human remains have already been found at two spots the man identified. The employee says he worked for the temple administration between 1995 and 2014, when he was allegedly coerced into burying the bodies. In 2025, 950 attacks on Christians in India For the first five months of 2025, Open Doors reports 950 attacks on Christians in India, which accounts for a rate of 2,300 per year. According to this reliable source, “These incidents included attacks, threats to abandon the Christian faith, excommunication, social boycotts, halting prayer services and church closures. Throughout India, 200 cases have been filed against pastors and believers based on fabricated conversion allegations.” India rated as the worst in The Worldview's international morality index  -- or the Evil Index -- released last month. India rated high in persecuting Christians, corruption perceptions, as well as supporting abortion and homosexuality. Most evil nations vs. Best behaved nations The highest rated nations for immorality were India, North Korea, Mexico, Columbia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Nepal, Myanmar, Somalia, Nicaragua, China, and Nigeria. Best nations on the list were Armenia, Eastern European nations, Israel, Japan, and Singapore. Among European nations, Russia, Greenland, and Belgium were rated poorly. Switzerland and Ireland rated best on this International Morality Index.  The nation of Chile lost the most ground over the last eight years. The country was rated at the top of the morality index eight years ago, and has dropped to the 66th position, due largely to approving abortion in 2017, and adopting homosexual faux-marriage in 2022.   The International Morality Index considers nations on the basis of the sixth, seventh, and eighth commandments of God's law as well as the persecution of Christians.  John 1:29 says, “But let us remember, this is why Jesus came. . . John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!'” Kenyan pro-lifers object to Bill Gates' abortion kill pills Kenyan pro-lifers have issued a petition addressed to Kenya's Ministry of Health, complaining of IPAS Africa Alliance's distribution of abortion kill pills throughout the country.   The petition accuses IPAS of breaking Kenya's laws, and flooding schools and pharmacies with the kill pill.   The Citizen Go petition notes that “Kenya's laws protect unborn life, but IPAS is exploiting loopholes. They hand out abortion pills without scans, prescriptions, or medical supervision.” IPAS Africa Alliance is reportedly funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Mexican drug cartel leader pled guilty “Be sure your sins will find you out.” That's what Number 32:23 warns. The founder of the largest drug cartel in the world, Mexican cartel kingpin Isamel “El Mayo” Zambada, pled guilty to federal charges yesterday, reports the Associated Press. He is charged with organizing a drug smuggling operation into the US, called the Sinaloa cartel.   His partner Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was found guilty of similar charges in 2019. The Mexican Sinoloa cartel is known for assassinations, tortures, and kidnappings — terrorizing parts of the southern border areas of Mexico and Texas. Today, first time home purchase costs double rent For the first time in almost 20 years, the price of buying an entry-level home is double the expense of renting. Austin, Denver, Las Vegas, and Phoenix are some of the worst places for unaffordable properties for first-time buyers. 5% of Canadian deaths due to euthanasia Canada's Doctor Assisted Deaths now account for 5% of total deaths for the nation — more than the deaths attributed to diabetes and Alzheimer's combined.   Persons suffering solely from some sort of mental illness will be able to gain state medical help to kill themselves on March 17, 2027. In related news, the United Kingdom Bill on euthanasia has passed the House of Commons, and now has been presented to the House of Lords. United Kingdom legislature to dismiss jail time for violent offenders And finally, the United Kingdom government has come up with a plan to reduce prison overcrowding by dismissing jail time altogether for thousands of sex offenders, drug dealers, and violent criminals. Dr. Melanie Walker is a trained neurosurgeon who, in the late 1990s, served as a science advisor to Jeffrey Epstein. According to the investigation by Dagens Næringsliv (DN), Jeffrey Epstein played a pivotal and active role in securing millions of dollars in funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to the International Peace Institute (IPI), a UN-affiliated think tank headed by Terje Rød-Larsen. In 2013, Epstein arranged and facilitated a meeting between Bill Gates and Rød-Larsen at the Oslo home of Thorbjørn Jagland, then chair of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee. Emails revealed that Epstein gave Rød-Larsen specific instructions on how to frame the conversation with Gates and pushed aggressively behind the scenes to help IPI receive significant grant money. Following this interaction, IPI received a $2.5 million donation from the Gates Foundation, with additional payments totaling several million more over the years.His involvement raised serious questions, especially in light of his conviction years earlier for sex offenses involving minors. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Sudanese Christians in the crosshairs Sudanese Christian churches are being systematically destroyed by military forces.   According to Christian Solidarity Worldwide, a persecution watchdog, the Rapid Support Forces bombed the Sudanese Episcopal Church, the African Inland Church, and the Roman Catholic Church in Al-Fashir, the capital of North Darfur State just last month. And the Sudan Armed Forces destroyed a Pentecostal church complex in Khartoum last week. Persecuted Chinese church perseveres Chinese Pastor Wang Yi's church has continued moving ahead despite their pastor's arrest and 9-year-prison sentence.   According to China Aid director, Bob Fu, they have planted two additional churches,  Praise God that the Chinese House Church movement is growing. That's not the only thing growing.  So is the homeschooling movement, reports World Magazine in an article entitled, “Hard choices ahead for homeschoolers in China.” Kentucky church shooter killed 2 women, wounded policeman The suspect in a church shooting in Lexington, Kentucky, has been identified as 47-year-old Guy House. An aspiring rapper, House shot a police officer and killed two women at Richmond Road Baptist Church, before he was shot down by police officers. The wounded police officer is recovering. Two other church members were also wounded in the shooting, reports The-Independent.com. Revelation 13:10 leaves us this promise: “He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.” Pro-perversion and pro-abortion European group targets Christians The European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights has issued a report attacking the Christian faith.  It was funded by George Soros and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The report cites the enemy, by listing Christian people and organizations who represent traditional Christian values. Paul Coleman, Director of Alliance Defending Freedom International,  called the report “a thinly veiled attempt to silence ideological opponents under the guise of academic research,” reports Hungary Today. Bitcoin doubled in value in one year The value of one Bitcoin has topped $120,000, reports NBC News. That's almost exactly double what it was just a year ago, and twelve times the value of five years ago.   Gold is up 40% over a year ago, and silver is up 28%. Ground beef hit $6.67 a pound on a national basis last week. That's a 3-fold increase from where it was in 2010 at $2.20 a pound. And the size of the national herd of cows has dropped to 86.7 million head. That's the lowest level since 1951. Russia using 3,450 drones against Ukraine per month Russia has stepped up its drone attacks on Ukraine since the beginning of the year, now averaging 3,450 drones per month. That's up from about 1,000 drones per month in 2024.   A total of 136 drones were counted Sunday night over Ukraine. President Donald Trump announced yesterday, the United States would be providing more Patriot missiles to Ukraine, for shooting down Russian missiles. Judge blocks defunding of Planned Parenthood in new law A federal district judge has arbitrarily blocked the defunding of Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion provider.   Judge Indira Talwani's order purports to force the Trump administration to defy a federal law passed by the U.S. Congress and signed by the President. Supreme Court gives Trump green light to dismantle Dept of Education Yesterday, the US Supreme Court issued a decision allowing for the Trump administration's plan to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education, reports NBC News.   In a 6-3 vote, the high court allows for Secretary of Education Linda McMahon to fire 1,400 employees — amounting to about half of the department workforce. Trump's 2026 budget funds 2,179 employees compared to 4,099 working during the 2024 fiscal year. More young adults lean Republican Young people are moving Republican. A new Yale Youth Poll finds 18 to 21-year-olds leaning Republican by 12 points, while the older group of 22 to 29-year-olds still favor Democrats by 6.4 points.  Trump reflects on assassination attempt anniversary Yesterday, President Donald Trump reminisced on how his life was saved from the assassin's bullet a year ago in this exchange with a reporter. REPORTER: “On this one year anniversary of Butler, what was going through your mind this morning when you woke up. I know that you're praising God you're alive, but a lot of people want to know how you've taken this day on this one year anniversary.” TRUMP: “God was protecting me, maybe because God wanted to see our country do better, or do really well, make America great again. But God was protecting me, Brian, I'll tell you. I have a job to do, so I don't like to think about it much. It's a little bit of a dangerous profession, being President.” Proverbs 19:21 reminds us of God's sovereign hand over all of our doings: “Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails.” What are the most and least rewarding college disciplines? What's the best bang for the college enrollment buck? A recent study found that for best starting pay and employment numbers, Civil engineering, Construction Services, Aerospace Engineering, and Nursing are the best majors. By contrast, Anthropology, Sociology, and Fine Arts are the worst for starting pay. Pastor John MacArthur died And finally, this just in. Pastor John MacArthur has passed on to glory, reports The Christian Post. Recognized worldwide, as a definitive leader among conservative Evangelicals and reformed Christianity, Pastor John led Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California for 56 years. Remarkably, he authored nearly 400 book titles. He preached the authority of Scripture and was defiant in the face of ongoing COVID-19 lockdowns. The MacArthur Study Bible sold two million copies, and his commentary series sold another one million copies. Master's Seminary, over which John MacArthur presided, enrolls 700 men, and his sermons are still heard over 1,000 radio stations across America through the Grace to You ministry. MacARTHUR: “Second Corinthians 5:21 – ‘He made Him who knew no sin, sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.'  Let me unpack those 15 Greek words. He, God, made Jesus sin. What do you mean He made Jesus sin? Only in one sense. He treated him as if He had committed every sin ever committed by every person who would ever believe, though, in fact, he committed none of them. “Hanging on the cross, He was holy, harmless, undefiled. Hanging on the cross, he was a spotless lamb. He was never, for a split second, a sinner. He is holy God on the cross, but God is treating him -- I'll put it more practically -- as if He lived my life. God punished Jesus for my sin, turns right around and treats me as if I lived His life. “That's the great doctrine of substitution. And on that doctrine turned the whole reformation of the church. That is the heart of the Gospel. “And what you get is complete forgiveness, covered by the righteousness of Jesus Christ. When He looks at the cross, He sees you. This evening, his faith became sight." Pastor John is survived by his wife, Patricia Smith MacArthur; children Matt, Mark, Marcy, and Melinda; 15 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
