Everyone struggles in life but, for some, those struggles turn into suffering. When we experience suffering, it is my belief that we often suffer in three main areas. We suffer in ourselves, we suffer from others, and we suffer in life as a whole. You may be experiencing suffering in one, two, or all three of these areas. When we suffer, we deserve to have the help of others to come along side and work together to relieve, process, and heal that suffering. It would be my honor to come along side of you and work to turn your suffering into acceptance, understanding, and freedomTogether we achieve this freedom by digging deep into your emotions and belief systems using the Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy framework. This framework can reveal stringent unaccepting belief systems that cause you to suffer and transform these beliefs into more loving, kind, and accepting beliefs. This reframing calls on you to take behavioral steps toward a life that is more accepting and free!My counseling experience includes working with those who are experiencing grief and loss, trauma, depression, anxiety, career/life changes, and others. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is important in healing and in the effective use of REBT. Because of this, counseling begins with us building a therapeutic relationship. We will work together to identify and define your goals. Then you get to put those goals to the test as you continue to strive for more acceptance and freedom in your life.My hope as a counselor is to connect with you and help bring a level of joy to your life regardless of circumstance. Please contact me directly at 940-268-4287 or lkelly@lotusflowermound to get started!

Vicki was hit head on by a drunk driver on June 29th, 1999. The wreck happened at 9:03 in the morning and felt like hitting a brick wall at 140 mph. This horrific day put Vicki fully in a wheel chair.Since her wreck, the recovery has been excruciating. She underwent many surgeries and relied heavily on medication for the unbelievable pain she was going through. With her limited mobility and multiple medications she was on, she gained weight quite rapidly. On October 11th, 2011 Vicki made the brave decision to start training at Jesse James Fit. She had been taking her daughter to JJF for strength training in order to get in shape for cheerleading. The owner of the studio Jesse, continued to watch her come in and out every day in a wheel chair. He would encourage her constantly to come in herself and change her way of life. On October 11th, she took that first step.Vicki worked endlessly to lose weight for the first year and saw great progress. However, she hit a plateau and was unable to do it all 100% on her own. On May 12th, 2012 Vicki underwent bariatric surgery. The weight continued to drop as well as the loose skin on her body. With the amount of pain on her legs due to the wreck, and now the added weight from the loose skin, Vicki underwent another surgery for skin removal on June 12th, 2013. She had to have a second skin removal surgery on October 12th, 2013.On November 7th, 2013 Vicki celebrated a HUGE goal, she finally hit her weight loss goal, weighing in at 147.Vicki is currently a trainer at JJF and has been since reaching her goal weight. She comes in every day to help changes lives, as this amazing place did for her. She has been told in order to remain mobile and out of a wheel chair, she will need to undergo a few more surgeries for the extra 25-30 pounds of skin. Also, due to the amount of medication over the years, it has really done damage to her teeth. She will have to undergo a huge dental surgery that will also be very expensive. Please help us in supporting Vicki on finishing what she started. The wreck was completely out of her control. However, the hard work and dedication she has put forth to get where she is, is outstanding. She is asking for help in order to keep coming in and helping others change their lives. To help Vicki with GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-vicki-with-surgery
