On this week's episode of Just Juicin' Around, I'm flying solo, coming at you with a Special (Long Awaited) Announcement and jump into a Marathon Review of sorts where we dive into films distributed by A24. Think of this as the first Part in what may be a few episodes of a Project where we start with the 1st film and go all the way through to the most recent film, all distributed by A24. These are films that are made for a reason with very specific stories to tell. Some have little to no dialogue (done impeccably well), others are pouring dialogue out as though Quentin Tarantino himself wrote them, and all of them are worth watching if you are a listener and haven't really had the pleasure of diving into A24's films. This week, we're going to dive into 5 of Denis Villeneuve's Films that leave us crying and begging for more, to get us as ready as we can be for his new Highly Anticipated Film, Dune. Not knowing any of the Film's lore, and having not read the book at all, all I can do to prepare, is to watch all of his movies and try to get a feel for his directing style and watch the first 5 movies that came to my mind as a lead up to this Film. We will start with Prisoners (2013), then go to Enemy (2013). Then we will touch on Sicario, then Arrival and then finish off with Blade Runner 2049. This week/weekend I'm coming at you with a few recommendations on what to watch on four different Streaming Platforms. Over on Disney+ we have a great remake/reboot series that is vey new and still barking out some episodes, Turner & Hooch. Over on HBOMAX we have a Throwback Series that I haven't seen in a long time, but just stayed as clever and fun as I remember watching it for the first time, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Swinging over to Paramount+ we have a HUGE back-catalog of Movies and Shows but the show I recommend to you is anyone who loves Star Trek, Star Trek: Lower Decks. The jokes and cameos are as outrageous as the tribbles are cuddly. And finally, on Peacock I tell you all about a very cool and very soap opera-ie adventure show that premiered literally over 20 years ago and I dare say, it STILL HOLDS UP. In this week's episode we are Juicin' Around with James Gunn's newest Comic Movie set over in the DC Universe, "The Suicide Squad". Being one of two Directors to move from Marvel to DC, and being the 1 and only ONE to do it SUCCESSFULLY, we are going to dive in and try to figure out what exactly is so AMAZING in this film. Having rated it a SOLID 5 stars, it was definitely what I wanted all along. And in the second part we dive into a very morally and ethically pondering film distributed by the Highly Popular Distribution Company, A24; David Lowery's The Green Knight. Being a HUGE fan of A24's films, this one is just as good and it's not one for those who are looking for a Game of Thrones-esc Film.
