Clean energy isn't just good for the planet, it's good for your wallet. Solar and wind are now the cheapest power sources in history. But too many politicians would rather protect billionaires than help working families save on their bills. Real change starts when we stop allowing the ultra - rich to write our energy policy and run our government. Let's choose affordable, renewable power. Clean energy means lower costs, more freedom, and a planet that can actually breathe. Promote Celtic culture through music at http://celticmusicpodcast.com/. Again email follow@bestcelticmusic ALBUM PINS ARE CHANGING THE WAY WE HEAR CELTIC MUSIC I got an email from Discmakers, my CD manufacturer, saying they were forced to raise their prices because of tariffs by our president. This is a tax on Americans. So if you love CDs, remember that the prices will go up. So please support those higher priced CDs. But there is an option for those who don't want to buy CDs and for those who want a better alternative for the environment. It's the Album Pin. Album Pins are lapel pins themed to a particular album. You get a digital download of the album. Then you can wear your album. All of my latest Album Pins are wood - burned and locally produced. This makes them better for the environment. And they are fun and fashionable. If you want to learn more about Album Pins, you can read more about them on my celtfather.Substack.com or just buy one at magerecords.com IRISHFEST ATLANTA Join us at IrishFest Atlanta on Nov 7 - 9, 2025. If you're working on your Switzerland itinerary and want to go beyond the usual tourist stops, this episode is for you! I'm sharing three destinations I recently visited that completely charmed me, each one offering something a little different, a little quieter, and a lot more local.First up is Savognin, a peaceful alpine village in Parc Ela that's close to the Landwasser Viaduct, a must-see if you love scenic train views or hiking. It's a great place to slow down and enjoy nature.Next, I take you to Lenk Switzerland in the Bernese Oberland. It's one of those Swiss ski towns that's perfect for families, with wide open spaces and a relaxed vibe. I stayed at the beautiful Lenkerhof Gourmet Spa Resort and can't wait to tell you all about it.And finally, we head to Winterthur, just a short train ride from Zürich. It's full of culture, cozy cafes, and some amazing Switzerland museums. I stayed at the lovely Park Hotel Winterthur, which I highly recommend. If you're dreaming of authentic Swiss towns and villages, beautiful landscapes, or relaxing family ski resorts, these spots deserve a place in your Switzerland vacation.Safe travels,Carolyn
Sometimes being lost isn't failure—it's freedom. The best views, lessons, and growth often come when you step off the path everyone else is on. Show Notes: In this introspective Shark Theory episode, Baylor Barbee takes a morning walk with his dog Bear that turns into a life lesson about uncertainty, perspective, and purpose. What started as a detour through unfamiliar terrain became a powerful reminder that being "off track" doesn't always mean you're behind—it might mean you're exactly where you're supposed to be. Through encounters with wildlife and an unexpected birdwatcher, Baylor explores the difference between fear and perspective, showing how a change in mindset can turn panic into peace. What You'll Learn in This Episode: Why feeling "lost" often signals growth, not failure How adrenaline and fear can distort perception The beauty of getting off the path and exploring new territory Why comparing your journey to others only slows your progress How to stay calm and confident when you can't see what's ahead Featured Quote: "Just because we're on the same path doesn't mean we have the same destination. Sometimes getting lost is how you find what's truly meant for you."

Nitin Sacheti says some of the best plays on the A.I. boom are in lesser-known names. He's bullish on data center builders like Western Digital (WDC) and Seagate (STX). He's also eyeing fiber optic companies like Cogent (CCOI), and is bearish on legacy software, satellite companies, and advertising. He shares his approach to finding off-the-beaten-path names with strong growth potential and reasonable valuations.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – https://twitter.com/schwabnetworkFollow us on Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/schwabnetworkFollow us on LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/schwab-network/About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about

"The long term survival of life on earth has never really been in doubt...it's the survival of homo sapiens that has been in question." That stark reminder, or perhaps warning, comes from one of the central characters in the new novel by Vermont author Tim Weed called "The Afterlife Project."Guest host Mitch Wertlieb speaks with the Putney-based writer about what inspired his book--which blends elements of climate fact with science fiction, telling a story that stretches from the not too distant future to a world that in ten thousand years is visited by one man who may or may not be the last surviving member of an otherwise wiped-out human race.Plus, we'll discuss some of the better ways you can feel like the last person on earth by exploring great out-of-the-way wilderness hikes with Claire Polfus, a recreation program manager for the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation.
There's a lot more mystery and magic to this state than "Florida Man" headlines suggest. Take a drive around the Tampa Bay area and you may wonder about the story behind the UFO perched atop a strip club, Weeki Wachee's mermaid show or Tampa's obsession with pirates.Gabrielle Calise, a culture writer who reports on offbeat Florida, nostalgia and music for the Tampa Bay Times, is an expert guide to all things wild and wonderful about the state.Calise is the editor of “Florida, a Hyper-local Guide to the Flora, Fauna and Fantasy of the Most Far-out State in America," and she joins "Florida Matters" to share some of the stories behind the spectacle.Gasparilla, the festival built around the mythical pirate Jose Gaspar, dates back to 1904 and is now part of the city's DNA.“Being the mayor of Tampa means that you're gonna participate and have to fight a bunch of pirates and give up the key to the city. No other place really has a tradition quite like that,” Calise said.Other highlights from Calise's conversation on "Florida Matters" include tips on where to spot manatees around Tampa Bay and where to see a mermaid show (Weeki Wachee), of course). There's also insights into Tampa's take on a Cuban sandwich and Floridians' attitudes to hurricane prep.
