Mary Campbell had what she called a pipe dream of living in Europe. She recently turned that pipe dream into a reality and is now living as a permanent resident in Portugal. You'll hear how she did it and how she feels about it... (FREAKING AWESOME!) and with so much more. Mary and I met in the public schools where I worked as a music teacher and Mary worked as a school psychologist. Mary grew up in the Pacific Northwest, joined the USAF right out of high school, and served as a German cryptologic linguist (listened to East German Air Force radio transmissions & analyzed them for intelligence). After her enlistment, she got my grad & undergrad degrees at UC Davis in psychology/school psychology & worked in public schools in CA and ID for 30+ years. Most of that time was as a school psych, but she took a brief foray into administration and served as a building principal at the middle school level. Mary has worked with children from preschool through high school. She retired in July 2020, a little earlier than she had originally planned (a Covid-inspired decision), and decided to move to Portugal in Spring 2021. She arrived in Lisbon in April 2022, after selling her home, and applying for a long-term residence visa. She has two grown sons (ages 40 and 34) who still live in the Boise area, as does their father, her former husband. Here are the takeaways... Hearing limiting things like "I don't know about a single woman her age....(fill in the blank)" can feel limiting until you realize, you'll be a woman your age ANYWHERE. You might as well be where you want to be. Intentional connections can be made through meet-up groups like meetup.com, Facebook groups, and buy-nothing groups. Looking for shared interests. It can be an easy way to make friends. You don't have to know the language of a country as long as you are willing to learn the language. Recognizing the circumstances of international moves is really important. There is a difference between being an immigrant and a refugee. International moves are going to take time. Have patience, be polite, be persistent and recognize you might not understand everything. You'll need to ask questions and be patient. Decisions terminate panic. “T'Challa Was Truly Noble. Are You Going To Be Like Him, Or Are You Going To Take Care Of Business?” The We Watch It crew went to the movies this past week with their tickets they scored over a month ago to see Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in IMAX, snagging the best seats in the house. Cody gives us insight on some pretty awesome news, one would say the news is pretty “Sweet” or “Freaking Awesome” or consider this host to be “Lucky!” Next week he will go over this incredible experience that only “Freaking Idiots” would not be impressed by. We learn about the death of the beloved voice actor Kevin Conroy who has voiced the titular character Batman for over three decades. We close the book on Kevin's time here, but we wish the nerd community well as we mourn the loss of a legend that made this character more than an icon. Shannon gives us some insight to some new projects that her favorite young broadway actress, Renee Rapp, is getting into with her EP coming out and a new season of Sex Life of College Girls on HBO Max. But enough about the beginning of the episode, you want to read about the main review the crew has cooked up for Marvel's final installment within their Phase 4 of cinematic releases. You probably want to just know now, WHO IS THE NEW BLACK PANTHER!? Well, it's not my job to tell you that, I can't spoil the movie or the content that these hosts go over. If I did something like that, I would be fired, and I would not want to lose this very important position of description creation for We Watch It that I get so handsomely paid for with snacks, so please don't ask me to divulge any of that unwanted spoiler mess. Anyways… IMDB shares with us the spoiler free storyline of this movie: Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M'Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect the kingdom of Wakanda from intervening world powers in the wake of King T'Challa's death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia and Everett Ross and forge a new path for their nation. Listen, take it from me, you want to go see this film. If you have not already, I don't know how you operate in today's day and age without seeing a Marvel movie. Donald Molnar MD is an internal medicine physician by day and a paranormal investigator by night. Don is the founder of the Haunted M.D., project which allows him to combine his passion of ghost investigating with being a practicing physician. Since 2001 Don has been out of training working as a doctor for various well known health systems. He was born and raised in Lorain, Ohio before doing his undergraduate and medical training in the Akron, Ohio area. He worked in Wooster, Ohio after finishing training and moved to Charlottesville in 2009. Don notes having paranormal and ghostly experiences all his life and he finally joined Twisted Paranormal Society (TPS) out of Fishersville, Virginia in 2012 to be able to investigate these curious experiences. As a part of TPS he has investigated many locations private and public. Some notable investigations include Hill View Manor, Fort Mifflin, St Albans, The Exchange Hotel, Dunnlora Inn and the USS North Carolina. Don can be seen in several of the episodes of the Twisted Realm which is a video production of the investigations of TPS which has been aired on PBS Virginia and now is seen on VIDI space and Amazon prime. In May 2018 Don started Haunted M.D. to talk about being a ghost investigating medical doctor and in March 2019 he decided to focus on it, stepping away from TPS/The Twisted Realm. The goals of Haunted M.D. include doing lectures for conventions, conferences or any group of interested folks; conducting investigations; and helping other teams or individuals with investigations. He approaches investigations using the same methods he uses to evaluate patients, paying close attention to details. Besides investigations and lectures, he posts a wide variety of interesting items on the Haunted M.D. FB page and on Don Molnar Haunted MD YouTube page. The posts include thought provoking paranormal concepts along with educational videos and intriguing pieces of evidence.
