This Week on Earth Station DCU! Drew Leiter and Cletus Jacobs breakout their top hats. When the Penguin is in trouble, The Help calls in Batman to save him in The Penguin #12. When Ras Al Ghul battles Robin Damien Wayne for control of his body, the BatFamily steps in to help in The Boy Wonder #5. During a mission with the Justice League, Plastic Man suffers catastrophic cellular damage, leading to his body breaking down. As he grapples with his deteriorating condition, Plastic Man tries to make amends for his past and save his son, who might have inherited more than just his superpowers in Plastic Man No More! #1. Batman and Catwoman are on a mission to retrieve a Mother Box from a crypt on the dead world of Czarnia. They face off against Amanda Waller's Suicide Squad, who are determined to stop them in Batman #152. The Birds of Prey travel through the portal again and this time the Pocket Dimension has become a Spirit World version in Birds of Prey #13. Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes have come from the 31st century to imprison Mordru and restore the timeline. The Legion get into a battle with Justice Society of America who have voted to give Mordru a chance to change his future in Justice Society of America #11. After all the damage done by the battle with Woodrue and the Mushroom Zombies, Ivy can't handle all the cleanup by herself. She asks Harley, Janet, Killer Croc, and Solomon Grundy to help her in Poison Ivy #25. The League of Assassins searches for the ring of Ring of Jong Li which just happens to fall into the hands of a con-artist named Alan Scott in Batman: Gotham by Gaslight - The Kryptonian Age #3. Superman must stop a battleship from falling on Metropolis killing millions and in the second story, Clark is angry with Lois for sideling him reporting on Superman because he is too close to the story in Action Comics #1068. Hal Jordan must use his wits to escape Gammora Island after stealing back his drained power ring, while Carol Ferris is sent on a mission from the Tower of Fate to seek out other heroes only to discover a new Lantern of Sorrow in Green Lantern #14. John Stewart and his allies fight the last of the Radiant Dead in hopes of returning to Earth to help his mother against the Star Shroud in Green Lantern: War Journal #12. Wonder Woman and Robin Damien Wayne take turns trying to get the location of Amanda Waller's Prison out of Captain Boomberang in Wonder Woman #12. Nightwing discovers that Robin Tim Drake has setup his own resistance group separate from the one that Dick and Babs setup. When Failsafe attacks, Nightwing helps them try to defend their Headquaters in Absolute Power: Task Force VII #4. For the most part, genre entertainment news has been relatively light. Yes we've had a round of castings for DC projects, and Kevin Fiege is slowly opening the kimono for X-Men info, but on the whole nothing earth shattering (who knows, we might see a planet shatter whenever the ‘Superman' trailer finally comes). This makes for a perfect time to defer the 200th episode of the show and take a look at the state of things over at DC and Marvel. They are both looking to emerge from a slump, despite taking very different approaches (though I'm sure DC would have loved a $1B hit that allowed them to have their cake and eat it too). After his clerkships, Segall worked for Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and the U.S. Department of Justice, before joining the Georgia State faculty in 1991. Segall teaches federal courts and constitutional law I and II. He is the author of the books Originalism as Faith and Supreme Myths: Why the Supreme Court is not a Court and its Justices are not Judges. His articles on constitutional law have appeared in, among others, the Harvard Law Review Forum, the Stanford Law Review On Line, the UCLA Law Review, the George Washington Law Review, the Washington University Law Review, the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Constitutional Law, the Northwestern University Law Review Colloquy, and Constitutional Commentary among many others. Segall's op-eds and essays have appeared in the New York Times, the LA Times, The Atlantic, SLATE, Vox, Salon, and the Daily Beast, among others. He has appeared on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, and France 24 and all four of Atlanta's local television stations. He has also appeared on numerous local and national radio shows.
