Zach shares why he's anxious about Mims as he heads into a contract season in which his offensive role shrunk during the offseason and he might not be available to start the season. We hear from Sean Payton on the Broncos roster after they whittled it down to 53 guys. Is this roster in a better position than it was a year ago? What do the guys make of the Broncos practice squad? Were we surprised that former 3rd-round pick Drew Sanders was cut? We dive into the latest with Jonathon Cooper, as he was placed on the Commissioner's exempt list and has a trial set for November. We hear from George Paton on the situation and the replacements for Cooper while he misses time. Could Cooper cause a distraction for the Broncos this season? We react to Cale Makar's historic NHL contract extension. We hear from Makar on signing an 8-year contract instead of going for a shorter 4-year deal. Does Makar's new deal add pressure for him to be even better moving forward?

The guys explain why Franklin reminds them of former Bronco WR Emmanuel Sanders. What is Marvin Mims' future as a Bronco? Will Mims be in the Broncos' offensive plans? Will the Broncos need wide receiver depth like they did last season, or could they turn around and trade Mims this offseason? Do the Broncos need to get ready for life without Jonathon Cooper for part of the season? Will Jonah Ellis return to his position of edge rusher? Will Cooper ever suit up for the Broncos again? 0:00 - Amidst all the legal proceedings and trials and injunctions and complaints and teams refusing to play Texas Tech in any sport ever and condemnations from the Big 12 commissioner, Brendan Sorsby and Texas Tech have parted ways. Sorsby will enter the NFL's supplemental draft. He will not play another down of college football. What a WILD turn of events. Kaner said this whole debacle wouldn't have happened the same way if Sorsby played at a bigger football school. If he was the QB at Alabama, Georgia, or Ohio State, would teams still refuse to play them?17:06 - Let's read the tea leaves here...according to Brett, it seems like Sean Payton is planning to move on from Marvin Mims sooner rather than later. He's putting all the pieces in place.31:45 - Just when you thought ticket prices couldn't get more out of whack, have you SEEN the World Cup ticket prices?? Move on over, NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden. There's a new sheriff in town.

0:00 - After ALL THAT, Brendan Sorsby won't play football for Texas Tech. He's entering the NFL supplemental draft. Sheesh. What a mess. Essentially, the entire college football world bullied Brendan Sorsby into stepping away from Texas Tech. Good. After that, Marvin Mims has a new agent. The Broncos signed Jaylen Waddle back in March. Yesterday, the signed a speedster WR out of the UFL. What do we make of all this?15:40 - Death, taxes, and the Rockies bullpen blowing it. Yesterday, they walked in the winning run. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Brett's pissed about it. He's super fired up this morning. So Vic asked: why do you waste any time getting emotionally invested in the Rockies? They're not going to sniff the playoffs. Why expend any brain power worrying about them?32:05 - Minnesota sports teams are cursed. It's probably the most cursed sports in the country. There's a pattern of guys being traded away from Minnesota teams then winning a title elsewhere within 2 years. Yikes.

Ever wondered about the legal boundaries of police during a car stop, and what rights both officers and civilians have?In this episode, law student Troy Henricksen shares a story from a police officer buddy about pulling over a car full of friends—one sober driver, the rest having partied hard—and what happens when those passengers turn into drivers themselves.Steve and Troy get into the nitty-gritty: what a cop can actually do after a traffic stop, what counts as reasonable suspicion, and how officers (and defense lawyers) handle these tricky situations. Plus, they're not shy about cracking jokes or calling out the awkward moments—like when someone mouths off to the police or tries to get out of Uber's surge pricing by making a poor decision. If you've ever wondered about your rights during a stop, what real lawyers think about these “gray areas,” or just want some inside scoop on how these scenarios play out in the legal world, you're in the right place.Key Takeaways:Reasonable Suspicion for Stops: Police can legally stop someone if they have a reasonable, articulable suspicion that a crime—like impaired driving—may be occurring, even based on a recent encounter (04:00).Passenger vs. Driver Rights: Under current law (Pennsylvania v. Mims), officers can order all occupants out of a vehicle on a legitimate stop, regardless of whether passengers did anything wrong (01:02).Entrapment and Officer Discretion: The scenario highlights the importance of officer intent: it's not entrapment unless police actively persuade someone predisposed not to offend (11:48). Smart defense cross-examination can reveal police motivation, but doesn't always overturn a valid stop.Submit your questions to www.lawyertalkpodcast.com.Recorded at Channel 511.Stephen E.
