Rose Red and Jaymi chat art and deck creation with Callie French. Whereas Jaymi is a derpy owl, and rose the shiny raven, Callie envisions herself as the self-taught, painting artist elephant. In addition to painting wonderful images, decks; she is a wise crone teaching tarot and learning from her students. From watercolor to oils Callie paints cards for herself and US Games. She's working on a deck that features cultures, people, and global locations from the 1800s. Callie takes us on her deck creation process and gives us a glimpse into her tarot practices. She approaches tarot like a heartbeat, with an ebb and flow, a pulse. You can also see Callie's work in the Rana George Lenormand and the forthcoming Pride Tarot in 2020 (proceeds from the sales go to a local youth center for US Games). Rose Red and Jaymi discuss various simple daily tarot/oracle practices. We cover daily draws in both the morning and evening varieties. Listen in as we tell you how to build better relationships with your deities, or spirits, using a daily devotional. Expand your tarot knowledge by bringing in a three-card draw to craft sentences. These are just a few ideas to get you going. You can find many more spreads or ideas online to supplement and build your practice. No matter what yours looks like, we recommend you keep a notebook or journal of your records. Use it to recognize patterns or see how your philosophies change over time. Composition notebooks are cheap and are a great place to start for those adverse to writing things down. Rose Red and Jaymi invite Winifred from AwenTree in East Hampton, MA to talk shop, literally. AwenTree carefully curates the store with a carefully crafted eye to the unique: blending unique consignment pieces with popular items from traditional companies. Winifred gives us insight into how a store gets turned into a community center; how to approach proprietors to read in-store; and discusses how she weaves her unique healing modalities into her personal practices. Her big tip to reading in stores is for readers to build a following so they can then bring them into the stop. It's a relationship to help promote each other. In addition to running a wonderful store, Winifred started a new online outreach community component to awentree. Called the Witching Well, this “virtual gathering space” reaches out to solitary pagans wanting to connect and learn more about the path. Sadly, the group is closed at the moment, as she is running the first series by Founding Members. Winifred plans to re-open around September 9, 2019. She is also working on an oracle deck with her best friend, Melissa Stratton Pandina. The images are all finished; they're waiting to complete the book before considering publication. Currently titled, Oracle of the Seer, the deck focuses intent around those wanting a blend of shamanic/seership/pagan practices. As always, we enjoy hearing your feedback and comments so send emails to tarotvisionsshow@gmail.com, or follow us on twitter at twitter.com/tarot_visions, or on Facebook at facebook.com/TarotVisionsUS. Rose Red hosted a wonderful Podcasting 101 class during PantheaCon 2019. She invited Jaymi and Michael along to discuss what it takes to put together Tarot Visions Podcast. We did a live recording of the class using some cool new technology Michael brought with him. Please note this class was 90 minutes long, so the recording is a bit longer than what you are used to.“Hello, listeners. Michael Charboneau here with a bonus podcast recording tip: When you are using recording equipment, whether it's a laptop, your phone, or a stand-alone digital recorder, remember to make sure it's fully charged or plugged in, or to have fresh batteries nearby. Unfortunately, my digital recorder's batteries died at this point in the recording. We will have the rest of the audio programs listed in the show notes, and we pick up recording when we are talking zoom.us and recording a session online.”
Convention season means a lot of fun in compressed days, and awkward recording schedules (thanks for your patience). We bring you this update live from PantheaCon 2019 in the Divination Suite. Listen to us babble on about many divination items. Karen Kresber shares with us her wonderful techniques. And we get the room involved by sharing their best PantheaCon memories. We know the sound is not the best due to the live nature. Enjoy our silliness!

As always, you can reach us at our Facebook page, and through our personal twitter accounts: @roseredtarot and @jaymi_elford.
Rose Red and Jaymi bring Vyviane Armstrong owner of Land Sea Sky Travel onto the show to discuss her fantastic online classes and conferences. They discuss what the conferences and classes are as well as the Pilgrimages Vyviane offers through Land Sea Sky Travel. The Classes and Conferences begin Jan 19 and run all year long. When you sign up for each conference, you not only get all the video and audio recordings but you also get a lot of handouts and resources. If you are unable to attend part or all of the classes, you still get to download the materials. This makes the Land Sea Sky Travel conferences a wonderful experience. Each conference and class has a sliding scale cost. Presenters, panelists, and other help are paid to make these events possible. Everyone gets a fair wage. When you sign up for the classes and conferences, you get a ticket to a live event, a packet of information to share with your local community, and a recording of the event... along with even more materials. Vyviane held the first class on January 19, 2019, with River Devora. They discussed Anti-semitism and pagan awareness as well as discussing the history of Jewish culture, and explore the idea around being pagan and Jewish and how to recognize anti-semitism and be a better ally. Year of the Gods warmly welcomes those under 21 and over 71. They can attend for free. The group also makes welcoming spaces for folks with accessibility issues and people of color. Go check out their wonderful Hospitality Statement at http://landseaskytravel.com/hospitality/ The first conference focused on Brighid, included hands-on workshops, devotionals, bardic circles, as well as prayers and songs for Brighid. Each conference has new faces for a deeper discussion to help people expand their knowledge of the Celtic Gods. Join Vyviane on her Facebook page to find more info on all classes and conferences.
Jaymi and Rose catch up after the holidays. So much good divination goodness to come in 2019. In the first 6 months, they'll be attending (and teaching at some) PantheaCon, Northwest Tarot Symposium (NWTS), and the Readers Studio. Jaymi kicks off her Tarot Inspired Life book tour in Seattle with a signing at the ALA Midwinter Conference. She'll be adding more dates for signings and readings as her schedule allows. Check her book companion site at www.tarotinspiredlife.com for all the gritty details. Rose is excited to be going to all the conventions and for getting to delve deeper into her A Year with our Gods studies with Land Sea Sky Travel. Check out all the links in the show notes! Hope to see you at a convention or o the book tour!
Happy winter holidays everyone! Rose and Jaymi discuss their Yule/Solstice plans and talk about what this time of the year means to them. Rose plans to do some readings, and stay up all night on solstice day. She also will be attending a coven gathering where they swap presents. Rose endorses celebrating the holiday season by buying from local, and small business companies, like Izzy Swanson's etsy store where she got some wonderful incense. Jaymi still isn't sure what the winter holidays mean to her. She's searching for the balance between all that goes on. Jaymi did get to swap readings on a wonderful solstice spread created by Callie French. In addition to being a wonderful artist (she illustrated the Rana George Lenormand and the 2019 Readers Studio poster), Callie runs the Tarot Bistro page on Facebook. You can read more about what Jaymi's reading said by visiting Inner Compass Tarot. Jaymi also did another Solstice Reading from Joanna Powell Colbert's eNewsletter. You can view this reading on this page. Both ladies do plan on swapping Solstice readings of their own. They will post pictures and meanings on the Tarot Visions Facebook page. What Yule/Solstice plans do you have? Please let Rose and Jaymi know by leaving them a comment on the Tarot Visions Facebook page.
