We had quite a lot to discuss in these chapters, so prepare for a longer than usual episode. The brutality and senselessness of the Paxton boys (and American colonialism in general), talking watches that shapeshift into vegetables, westward expansion and the impact of capitalistic real estate, and so much more.We invite you to share your thoughts with us about the book, these chapters, or anything else we discussed so we can bring it up in a future episode. We can be reached at any of the social media links below.Regarding the discussion about the unique horror of the American colonists violence toward indigenous peoples as mentioned in this episode, we failed to mention another instance of this type of history which should have been brought up. The Herero and Namaqua genocide was an awful event in history which, like the atrocities brought up in Mason & Dixon and our discussion, should not be forgotten or dismissed. Please pre-order Brett Biebel's Mason & Dixon Companion: https://ugapress.org/book/9780820365831/a-mason-and-dixon-companion/Here is the link mentioned by Brett. https://rumble.com/v1avitv-devolved-vol-5-revelations.htmlAs you work your way through C2 many leaders are probably feeling the heat (IF YOUR EVEN ALIGNED correctly) where God is culling things…He's culling people to see who is going to move up with Him into the new space of the spirit and who will get stuck back on this level. Only to have to go around the mountain again. God always warns us when the cloud is beginning to move again and if we fail to move with the cloud we get left behind. WITCHCRAFT:Hitting hard with lethargy, not wanting to engage, isolation, MAJOR mind fog, witchcraft spells, created to cause believers to get stuck, and stay in old mindsets. Don't forget: WE HAVE ALSO entered into the season of BASSILISK which brings in early death assignments/freak accidents so you will need to be breaking this stuff off daily! Ok, so we made it past the “Devel's Revel, and we are now moving into the occult “Grand Climax” which is probably why we are experiencing an influx of HIGH PRESSURE warfare wise. As we get this high pressure every year around this time and it's a time for Intercessors/Frontrunners to grab their HUTZPAH, MEANING: REACH DOWN DEEP and ask God to help you press through! CNN is a JokeSources https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/12/politics/fact-check-trump-cpac-election-lies/index.htmlHe's still repeating his favorite old lies, those eternal chestnuts about the size of the trade deficit with China and the legitimacy of the Russia investigation and how many immigrants show up for their court hearings. But former President Donald Trump's current dishonesty is overwhelmingly focused on a single subject: the 2020 election he lost eight months ago but won't stop lying that he won.In a rambling Sunday address to the Conservative Political Action Conference in Dallas, Trump returned again and again to election-related lies -- some of them detailed and wrong, most of them vague and wrong. What can you even say about claims so disconnected from reality? Here's a brief fact check of eight of them. - CNNhttps://www.cnn.com/2021/07/12/health/us-coronavirus-monday/index.htmlAs the Delta variant rapidly spreads, US hot spots have seen climbing case numbers -- and an expert warns a "surprising amount of death" from Covid-19 could soon follow. The United States is averaging about 19,455 new cases over the past seven days, a 47% increase from the week prior, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. And a third of those, CNN medical analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner said, come from five hot spots: Florida, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri and Nevada."In places like Missouri where ICUs are packed, you're going to see a surprising amount of death," Reiner said on Sunday. At Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, 91% of patients in the intensive care unit are on ventilators and many are in their 20s, 30s and 40s, Chief Administrative Officer Erik Frederick told CNN on Saturday. In this episode, we discuss the cardinal fire sign of Aries with one of our fave Aries risings: Anya Kaats. Some questions we ponder: how do Aries folk experience fear? How does Mars leave its imprint? What's the difference between being self-sustaining, or self-sovereign, and selfish? We also touch on the coming lunations, including the Libra full moon (opposite the Sun conjunct Venus and Chiron -- this one feels... tender. If also fiery and sharp-edged.) Anya hosts two podcasts: The Millennial's Guide to Saving the World and Whore Rapport. I know copyright doesn't sound like and interesting topic for a podcast. But there is more than meets the eye in terms of history where copyright is concerned. Plus you get to hear me do my best British accent. For more info about copyright and its implications, check out these resources.Wikipedia has, at least as of this recording, a pretty good page on the issue. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_copyrightThe U.S. Copyright office has an excellent page dedicated to the history as it pertains to U.S. law. Read the full devotional here: https://joyfulmudpuddles.blogspot.com/2020/11/christmas-treasures-lessons-from-mary.htmlAs we get closer to Christmas our thoughts turn towards Jesus' birth. Over the years I have considered different parts of the Nativity. Often wondering what it would have been like for each of the people involved. This year as I have been wrapped up in the middle of writing a devotional book for mothers, a single verse stuck out in the book of Luke. "But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart." Luke 2:19As a mom I can relate to Mary. The miracle of birth, even in all the chaos that follows, amazes us as we hold our precious new born. These treasured moments connect us to our little one and the One who created this little miracle. In the busyness of life do you still take time to treasure moments and think about them?Do you stand in awe of all God has done in your life? Do you pause during your day to be present with your children? Take a lesson from Mary. This Christmas I encourage you to take the time to thank God for all the blessings in your life. Consider the magnitude, wonder and events of the first Christmas. Worship Jesus, who came personally into the world to rescue, love and forgive us. And be sure to pause in the midst of your festivities to enjoy being with your kids. Treasure all these things. Store them in your heart and think about them. For devotionals that truly touch on what it means to be both a daughter of the The Lord and a mother to your children, visit www.joyfulmudpuddles.com/joyful-motherhood for a FREE sample of my new book Joyful Motherhood. Welcome back! I'm really happy this week to start a what will be a four part series over the next few weeks on the Loire Valley, one of the most diverse wine regions in France. To do it justice, it just had to be split up into sections. Which means that this episode is all about the Pays Nantais, and one of by favorite wines: Muscadet. Before I dive into the content though, I address the New York Times article that has the wine world on edge right now, and for good reason. Last week more than twenty women came forward to expose sexual misconduct and assault in the Court of Master Sommeliers Americas. It's a heavy topic but it needs and deserves to be addressed. The link to the article is below: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/29/dining/drinks/court-of-master-sommeliers-sexual-harassment-wine.htmlAs usual this episode I used my trusty copy of The Oxford Companion to Wine, 4th Edition by Jancis Robinson. I also used a great resource, https://loirevalleywine.com/Check it out, they have a great website. I talk about a few wines in this episode: The Wines of Guy Bossard and Domaine de l'Ecu: https://domaine-ecu.com/I was drinking a bottle of Chateau de La Ragotiere: https://www.freres-couillaud.com/les-vins/chateau-de-la-ragotiere-en/And I mention the wines of Gadais Pere et Fils: http://www.gadaispereetfils.fr/domaine/domaine-en.htmlHouse wine is an independant podcast written, narrated and produced by me, Rachael. So if you like it add some stars, some likes, or leave a comment it all goes a long way. Alison Brown is a homeschooling mom of five. She started studying emotional intelligence ten years ago in order to teach her kids about their feelings. When she had to deal with three bouts of prenatal depression, she realized that she needed better techniques to handle her own emotional ups and downs. Her research led her to develop the Power Emotions system to help people get in touch with the healthy forms of anger, sadness, and fear - instead of trying to suppress them - and use their power to experience more calm, confidence, and happiness. Highlights from this episode include:Her experience with Perinatal mood disorder through three out of the five of her pregnanciesDiscussing the warning signs of prenatal depression Differentiating a mood disorder from the stressors of parenting and typical pregnancy symptomsManaging feelings and emotions as a MomDiscussing the roots of “mom rage” You can join her upcoming FREE challenge designed to help parents transform frustrating moments with their kids into opportunities for love and connection in her Power Emotions Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/poweremotions/. https://alisonpbrown.com/invite.big.htmlAs always, we would love to connect with you to continue the conversation on Instagram @sweetestandtoughestjob or on Facebook The Sweetest and Toughest JobVisit our website www.sweetestandtoughestjob.com for additional episodes, resources, guest contact info and blog posts.Thank you for listening!

Mid-August every year is usually when Matika and Adrienne head out to New Mexico to get #SantaFancy, visit artist friends, and partake in all of the joy of Santa Fe Indian Market--the largest Native art market in the US. Like everything, Art Market was canceled in person this year, leaving us worried about and missing our artsy relatives. So we decided to launch a mini-series on Native art and artists! The goal of this series of episodes is two fold. In a world of cultural appropriation and “Native inspired” junk showing up on Instagram ads and in stores, we wanted you to get to know actual Indigenous artists. Folks who have been in the game for a long time, navigating the complicated and careful lines of culture, tradition, innovation, and art. We want you to hear their voices and their stories, know their work and their passion, and learn why its so important to support Native artists directly. Secondly, the pandemic has hit us all in a lot of different and difficult ways. But when the Native art world is so dependent on in person relationships, this time has meant that things have had to dramatically shift and change in a very short period of time. Many of our artist friends rely on art markets and shows for the majority of their income each year, and all of those have been cancelled. We wanted to bring these two pieces together, and introduce you to some of our artist friends, as well as check in and hear how their work and lives are moving forward in this new and challenging time. On this first episode, meet three awesome full time artists--Jewelers and metal smiths Pat Pruitt (Laguna Pueblo and Apache) and Waddie Crazyhorse (Cochiti Pueblo), and painter J. Nicole Hatfield (Comanche).Follow and support the artists!Pat Pruitt: https://www.instagram.com/patpruittmetalsmith/, http://www.patpruitt.com/Waddie Crazyhorse: https://www.instagram.com/crazyhorseclassics/, http://www.waddiecrazyhorse.com/J. “Glassing” is a term tossed out there by so many hunters, it almost might trick you into thinking it’s a simple concept, but there’s really so much that goes into every facet of spotting game. What techniques and specific strategies are involved? How about the gear selection behind setting up the best glassing suite of optics and related accessories? Scanning, using a grid system, where to look, which magnification to use, when to bust out the spotter vs the binoculars, etc. Ryan, Mark and Jimmy discuss these topics at length, and admittedly, there’s still much more we could cover in the future. Let us know what you’d like to hear for future glassing conversations!Check out "10 Tip to Up Your Glassing Game": https://vortexoptics.com/blog/10-tips-to-up-your-glassing-game.htmlAs always, we want to hear your feedback! Salvador Lara was a Marine infantry assaultman, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom veteran. During his first deployment to Iraq he earned two purple hearts for separate improvised explosive and suicide bomber attacks that caused multiple injuries; including, almost losing vision in one eye. People cry when they are sad – so why do they also cry when they are happy? This episode begins with the explanation for why two opposite emotions can have the same symptom. And what happy occasion actually causes people to cry the most "tears of joy.” (And it’s not weddings). https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/11/141111124047.htmYou probably know who Mike Rowe is. For years he hosted the TV show Dirty Jobs on the Discover Channel. He has become a champion for the blue collar workers in America and has his foundation that supports that cause called mikeroweWORKS. (www.mikeroweworks.com) . He is also the host of a podcast (https://mikerowe.com/podcast/) and author of a book – both called The Way I Heard It (https://amzn.to/34Dikog). Mike joins me with his interesting and often contrarian view on a lot of what we have come to believe about success including education, persistence efficiency and more. Kids skip. You probably skipped when you were a kid. So why don’t adults skip? Listen as I explain that it actually might do us all a world of good to do a little more skipping – even if you look foolish. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3895968/Why-adults-stop-skipping-s-hard-Activity-uses-quarter-energy-running-speed.htmlAs a culture we are becoming less empathetic towards our fellow humans. Yet empathy is one of those things that is good for everyone concerned. When you show empathy towards others it can ease their pain and it is beneficial to you as well. Jamil Zaki is a professor of psychology at Stanford University and author of the book The War for Kindness: Building Empathy in a Fractured World (https://amzn.to/2qtq4dX). He joins me to explain exactly what empathy is, how it works and why having it is so good for you. This Week’s Sponsors-Proven Skincare.
