This week we head on down to Kentucky and discuss Bobby Mackey's Music World. Considered the most haunted night club in America, Bobby Mackey's Music World has a dark past involving a slaughterhouse, Mafia transactions, death, exorcisms, and a bloody well that is considered a portal to Hell. That's quite an impressive list of haunting activity, but it is it enough to sway Tyler and Charlie to rank the venue as Believable? Listen now to find out! Bobby Mackey's Music World is a former slaughterhouse and meat-packing facility that served northwest Kentucky as well as parts of Ohio back in the 1850's. It eventually was demolished and the new building became a casino, nightclub, speakeasy, and now a music club. It is considered to be the most haunted night club in America as well as considered to be a gateway to hell. People have heard phantom footsteps, seen full body apparitions, smelled perfume, felt cold spots and had the sensation of being touched. Not only did a lot of death and murder happen in or near this location, but many believe that the area could be haunted due to the building being built on Native American burial ground. There are also rumors of Satanic rituals being performed in the basement allowing evil and sinister things to permeate the premises. What haunts Bobby Mackey's Music World? This Kentucky Honky Tonk has had a long and storied history. Rumors say that it was a speakeasy during prohibition, and a slaughterhouse after that. But none of the murders and tragedy surrounding the building explain the horrors that reside in the venue's basement…

We've covered quite a few music related topics on the podcast. HGB has featured Ernestine and Hazel's Juke Joint, Bobby Mackey's Music World and the Cincinnati Music Hall and we've talked about the life and afterlife of Patsy Cline, John Lennon and Elvis Presley. Bonus episodes have featured haunted instruments, Gram Parsons and the Devil's Chord. We thought it would be interesting to do an episode on haunted music as a whole. This obviously won't be exhaustive, but we are going to delve into haunted radio stations, recording studios, buses and jukeboxes. We'll also look at the elements of music that lead to hauntings and curses. And wow, does music have some curses! The Moment in Oddity was suggested by Darren Koch and features Paris' open-air urinals helping to defeat the Nazis and This Month in History features the birth of Chris Cornell. Dan is the author of 'The Ghosts of Bobby Mackey’s Music World", which uncovered a lot of the fascinating history possibly fueling the hauntings. Dan and his wife Becca are also the founders of the H.O.P.E Initiative, which “is a paranormal research and development organization whose mission is to conduct standard and controlled studies and data collection of paranormal phenomena, develop and test innovative equipment and devices for use in the paranormal field, and most importantly provide individuals and families with current and useful information and resources about their paranormal experiences.”

The infamous Bobby Mackey's! Zak gets scratched by a demon. We speculate on why Zak hates Aaron. Scottay tells us how he feels about demons.
So this is our second go at recording this particular episode because of some bad sound goblins that fucked up our initial recording. We chased them out using some very aggressive taunting. Speaking of which, Zak Bagans is a real certified shithead in this episode, and we can't really make excuses about it. We promise he gets less problematic... kinda. Bobby Mackey's Music World is famous, not because it's owned an operated by a real live country western singer, but because it's reportedly haunted as fuck. That's gotta feel pretty rough if you're Bobby Mackey. BTW: The Salt and Pepper Diner - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnkrL42R7gk
Bobby Mackey's Music World is northern Kentucky's longest running live music nightclub. For nearly forty years, this honky-tonk has hosted singing, dancing and drinking. But before the bar was opened up on this spot, a slaughterhouse was run here. A pit in the basement leads to the nearby Licking River and the blood and other waste from the slaughterhouse was dumped down this pit into the river. The building has been connected to murders, occult rituals and hauntings for years. Some claim that the pit itself leads straight to Hell. Join us and the hosts of Hillbilly Horror Stories Podcast, Jerry and Tracy Paulley, as we explore the history and hauntings of Bobby Mackey's Music World. America's Most Haunted Radio with host Eric Olsen was live last night at 8pE with guest Shannon Bradley Byers on the IPBN radio network. Listen to the podcast right here!Shannon Bradley Byers, the "Paranormal Genealogist," is a paranormal investigator and educator who infuses paranormal investigation with genealogical and historical research, and lectures in the Southeast on how to blend them into a seamless whole. She teaches para-enthusiasts and professionals that the "TV show history" of a location is not always correct and that it is critical for them to do their own research and not take legends at face value.Using examples such as Lavinia Fisher at the Old Charleston Jail, and Pearl Bryan at Bobby Mackey's Music World, Shannon shows how para-entertainment has skewed history and how incorrect the "facts" they supply to their audience and paying paranormal investigators sometimes are, and how incorrect facts can hinder a paranormal investigation.Byers also uses historic metro Atlanta locations to demonstrate how even the most basic facts such as the location of a given event aren't always correct. As former assistant director and department chair for the National Paranormal Society, she has authored many educational articles that are used as training material for members. In 2013 the team she co-founded with her husband in 2003, Timeless Paranormal, was featured in the A DAY TRIP documentary shown on EATV.
