In January 2014, a strange article appeared in the Indianapolis Star about Latoya Ammons, an Indiana single mother of three who claimed that for more than a year, she and her children were besieged by demons in their rented home. Ammons claimed, among other things, that the house was constantly infested with black flies, the children were levitated from their beds, and her nine-year-son became possessed and walked up a wall backwards. And that was only the beginning; by the end of just one year in the house, the Ammons family claim they were terrorized by all manner of supernatural assaults, from ghostly apparitions to demonic entities. Latoya Ammons' story might well have gone unnoticed, had it not been for the surprising number of witnesses to the paranormal events, from family and friends to police officers and social workers. Still, Latoya was not without her critics or skeptics—some accused her of fabricating the story to get out of her lease, while others assumed she was simply delusional. In November of 2011, Latoya Ammons, along with her mother, Rosa Campbell, and her three children moved into a house located at 3860 Carolina Street in Gary, Indiana. Immediately after arriving, paranormal activity began to happen. What followed was a series of events that would become one of the most documented and terrifying hauntings in Indiana history. 

The Bellaire House has a big reputation and is located in southeastern Ohio in the city for which it is named. The Heatherington family built the house, lived here and died here and are said to haunt it now. But this isn't just the Bellaire Haunted House. People refer to this as the Bellaire Demon House. The house is said to be plagued with lots of ghostly and demonic activity. Possibly because it sits on a ley line or maybe because a coal mine blew up nearby killing 42 men. In 1892 the Berger family moved into their new Victorian home with high hopes for their future. Unfortunately, their time was cut short when a fire erupted in the upper level of the home, taking with it most of the house and the family itself. Shortly after, a new family moved in. The Duendes are Dwarve-like fantastical creatures (similar also to Gnomes or Leprechauns) with roots in Latin American, Iberian, and Ibero American culture. Depending on the location and version of the mythology, Duendes can be playful tricksters full of mischief or wicked punishers of children.
