This episode is part 2 of a very special episode with Bradley Roth. Last week's episode was part 1, so tune in to the first half of this episode if you haven't already, although we think that part 2 packs even more value than part 1. We wanted to break it up and make sure you hear the powerful insight that was dropped here. In this episode, Bradley and Alison dive further into the topic of personal relationships and the lack of role models out there that model what healthy relationships look like. So many of us have arguments with our partners and don't even realize that we're fighting for the same thing, but just asking in different ways. Strictly love and attraction isn't going to be what makes a relationship last. It takes work to listen and understand where the other person is coming from. It can be so difficult to listen without jumping on the defense, but Alison shares strategies she has used for couples in therapy to listen to each other without an agenda, and realize they are fighting for the same issue. Another thing is that we can't assume that our partner knows what we want and then become frustrated when we don't get it. Open and clear communication is key but takes work to achieve. Alison shares about the power of semantics and how sometimes the one little word “why” can immediately put someone in defensive mode. She offers examples for reframing that won't elicit that feeling in others. There is always a solution to any problem we have. If the problem keeps coming up, it means the solution hasn't been found. Bradley shares a powerful series of quotes about what separates “most people” from “not most people.” Tune in to hear more! Key highlights:Why so many relationships are not workingIf you focus only on the problems, you are going to have more problemsDon't assume the other person knows exactly what you want - conflicts stay conflicts when they stay in our head Ask questions so that you don't jump to conclusionsThe power of semantics: What the word “why” elicits in someone The stress of financial insecurity Operating out of a place of abundance when we feel scarce All fear is future basedBradley's closing advice: most people vs. not most peopleConnect with Bradley Roth:Instagram: @not.most.people | @bradley_rothYouTube: Not Most PeopleWebsite: notmostpeople.netPodcast: Not Most People podcast on Apple PodcastsConnect with Alison:Instagram: @alisonanswers | @lagercounselingWebsite: LagerCounseling.comYouTube: Alison AnswersFacebook: Alison Lager Lcsw CasacAlison Answers Facebook Group: Join HEREWomen of Excellence FB group: Join HERE
In this special episode (part 1 of 2) Alison is joined by Bradley Roth. Bradley is the leader of the Not Most People Alliance which is the ultimate community for those looking to live a life beyond average and become what most people are not: happy, healthy, wealthy, growing, and free. The goal is to wage a war on the epidemic of mediocrity and come together with like-minded people who are hungry for success. Bradley started his podcast “The Not Most People Podcast” with the goal of changing the way people think about success, life, and happiness. Bradley also helps high-performers improve their relationships both professionally, and on a personal level with their significant other. You are sure to gain tremendous value by tuning in to Bradley's calm energy and great wisdom. In part 1 of this conversation with Bradley, he dives into his realization that he was not where he wanted to be in life and what propelled him on his journey to success. He used his awareness of the importance of relationship building for business success and always looking to lead with value. Bradley also emphasizes the importance of getting quiet with yourself to get out of the consumption cycle that so many people get stuck in. It is great to read books and listen to podcasts and learn from other people, but there comes a point where you notice a pattern and realize that you know what you need to do. The next step involves looking inward and making your consumption more selective so you can evolve.Bradley and Alison dive into the topic of personal relationships, relying on other people for our happiness and learning how to get on the same page as your significant other even when it feels like you are at complete odds. Part 2 dives more in-depth into personal relationships and packs an even bigger punch than part 1 so make sure to tune in next week!Key highlights:How Bradley builds professional relationships and leads with valueGetting out of a consumption cycleThe beauty of personal relationships and bringing the best out in each otherBradley talks about codependency and the problem of relying on other people for your happiness instead of doing the inner work on yourself Alison's therapy practice of learning to really listen to our partner without getting defensiveConnect with Bradley Roth:Instagram: @not.most.people | @bradley_rothYouTube: Not Most PeopleWebsite: notmostpeople.netPodcast: Not Most People podcast on Apple PodcastsConnect with Alison:Instagram: @alisonanswers | @lagercounselingWebsite: LagerCounseling.comYouTube: Alison AnswersFacebook: Alison Lager Lcsw CasacAlison Answers Facebook Group: Join HEREWomen of Excellence FB group: Join HERE

WHY SHOULDN'T YOU ASPIRE TO BE LIKE MOST PEOPLE? On this episode we are joined by Bradley Roth, host of the "Not Most People" podcast. As Bradley put it, most people aren't healthy, most people aren't wealth, and most people aren't happy. We discuss: Personal Development Relationships Breaking bad habits and forming new positive ones For places to listen, places to connect on social media, to be a guest, collaborate with or sponsor DTE visit: https://linktr.ee/DisruptTheEveryday Check out Bradley's website: https://www.bradleyroth.com/ About Bradley in his own words If you had asked me 10 years ago what I could talk about at length, my only answer would have been sports or fitness. I was essentially a one-dimensional person. However, I have since then become the opposite since embarking on a relentless pursuit to learn, do, and become far more than I was back then. That pursuit has led me to become a far more varied and well-rounded person than I ever could have imagined. I am now more than comfortable speaking at length about a wide variety of topics (listed below) and I pride myself on being able to quickly connect with people of any background, personality type, or area of interest. I am now someone who is often described by those who know me as wise beyond my (29) years. I don't think that comes from being particularly gifted in any way, but rather from being infinitely curious and hungry to do more in life - which drives me to constantly learn more and further develop myself. Perhaps my greatest natural gift (which I'm still constantly developing) is the ability to see every idea, topic, or problem from many angles or perspectives that many people often miss. I enjoy being able to solve problems and provide unique solutions that create "light-bulb moments" for people. If you have me on your podcast as a guest, know that you will get a comfortable and unique experience that will make you and your audience think in new ways. My highest value in life is freedom - time freedom, thought freedom, location freedom, financial freedom, etc.

Are you in a relationship which is impacted by Stress spillover? It occurs when a person has a bad day and brings their stress and negative mood into other domains in their lives, such as their home at the end of the day. Whether your partner was responsible for something at work, and it went south; had to manage difficult colleagues, customers, or a challenging boss; made a mistake on the job; or in other ways had a bad, stressful day, it's very hard to shake off the stress. According to a new Gallup poll, over 25 percent of people are somewhat or completely dissatisfied with their stress at work. Bradley Roth is on a mission to change the narrative and helping couples reconnect with their love lives once the workday has ended. Bradley helps busy entrepreneurs create an amazing intimate relationship with their spouse or significant other. He is also the host of The Not Most People Podcast, which was created to help shift the way people think about success, life, and happiness. He joined me this week to tell me more. Michael speaks with Bradley Roth, the Host of Not Most People Podcast, about overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking and not caring of what other people think. This podcast is NOT for Most People. The podcast IS for those allergic to mediocrity, groupthink, and conventional wisdom. It IS for those who strive to think, act, and therefore live in a way that most people never will. Do you shudder at the idea of settling or living an "average" life? Do you refuse to blindly follow or simply blend in with the crowd? Do you feel like you just think differently from most people that you know? And Have you ever wondered why 'most people' are not particularly happy, healthy, wealthy, or in great relationships? Or why more people than ever are overweight, overmedicated, broke, divorced, or unfulfilled? Host Bradley Roth has always wondered these things. And he has always found that the majority of successful people in any area of life tend to question, resist, and in most cases go directly against the standard path that most people tend to follow. They think, act, and therefore live differently than most. It's often those outliers, non-conformists, rebels-with-a-cause, and exceptions-to-the-rule who live the lives most people wish they had. It's those winners, standouts, and thought-leaders that are here to share their uncommon knowledge and unconventional wisdom. Tune in as we uncover the counter-intuitive truths and secrets of success that you likely never learned in school, on tv, or even from your parents - all while debunking traditional wisdom and challenging the popular advice that has led to an epidemic of mediocrity, dissatisfaction, and stagnation. This is where we dive into exactly how challenging the status quo, thinking outside the box, and following the road less traveled leads to extraordinary health, wealth, and happiness that all people CAN achieve (but most never will). This is where we separate the ordinary and the extraordinary.
