Throwback to another popular episode! Shoutout to Zach Harris from Hart Srone Studio & Design from Austin, Tx for bringing us this topic to discuss! There's a huge controversial discussion about disconnecting from work everyday. Most people think of work as this bad and unhealthy thing that they must leave at the front door of their office when they clock out for the day or something they leave locked away in their laptop if they work from home. These same most people believe they can't mix and combine work and the rest of their lives. I believe we can and I believe that we should. Of course there's exeptions to this. As you probably know by now, I don't follow most of the shit that we have accepted as our "normal" especially the work/ life balance bullshit. If you hate what you do for a living and it causes you huge amounts of stress, then of course you wouldn't want to involve your family in that negativity. On the contrary though, if you absolutely love what you do for a living and you have a bigger purpose than just yourself or your place of work, then why wouldn't you have your family also apart of something so amazing? Listen carefully to our thoughts on this topic and let us know your thoughts about it! Connect with us! Website

Staying mentally and physically fit everyday isn't an easy task when you mix it in with school work and field work, which is what attracted me to become friends with Kevin and have him on the podcast to share his story. He also plans to eventually branch out on his own and start his own company and inspire the next generation of tradesman and tradeswoman who look for advice in starting new in the field. I had to reshare this episode from mid 2023 because it's very important to make solid connections in the construction industry since most of our projects come from word of mouth. I believe there's a correct and incorrect way to build connections in the industry. There's also small and big events all around town and it's difficult to figure out which of these events would be most beneficial. I've been to events of all sizes with people from various different industries and I've seen my fair share of the differences. I really like the small intimate events because you can get more personal to everyone. I get it, you value the opinion of your people when you do things. You want to make them proud and you want to make sure you're doing the right things for them. Sometimes the right thing for them is a long term play that only you can see visualy so you'll get hate and criticism for it. You must draw a fine line where you don't give a fuck what people think about what you do, that's if you truly belive in your mission. The game is difficult on it's own but adding to it other people's opinion of what you're trying to do makes it much more difficult. Most of the closest people to you with talk shit to you or try to unmotivate you to start and build this business that you have a vision for. The people you think that will support you will probably be the last ones to support you and other people you'll meet along the journey that are strangers wil be the first ones to get in line to support you. A little throwback to one of my favorite episodes of Construction Royalty. It's one of my favorite because personal development is something that overlooked and that rarely anyone takes serious. It's also the most important part of the trades. Enjoy! Personal Development in the trades is one of the most underrated things in the industry. 95% of the peoplein the construction industry don't focus on this and we believe it's a huge issue that needs to be addressed. The reason we believe this is because working inside of the construction industry is one of the toughest and most difficult jobs you can have that will drain your body physically over time. If you don't take of your mental and physical health, then the job will become more difficult over time. I grew up in the indutry since I was 10 years old and I've seen this play out in the long run for many people and it isn't pretty.
