We recorded this episode in the McMahon Stadium press box immediately after the Calgary Wild's final match of 2025.  The Wild ended their regular season on a positive note, defeating the Vancouver Rise 2-1. Cavalry FC continued their push for third place on the weekend and battled Pacific to a somewhat disappointing 3-3 draw on Vancouver Island.  Manager Tommy Wheeldon Jr had another word before "poor" in his comments about defending, but I wasn't sure if adding it to the title would trigger explicit warnings for this episode.  We discuss the match.The Calgary Wild are finishing up their season playing for pride and their jobs. However, Vancouver's draw mathematically eliminated the Wild from playoff contention.Cavalry FC suffered a 3-0 loss to Ottawa that eliminates any hope of finishing top two in the table.The Dinos men's team had a dismal weekend, dropping both games they played in Edmonton. For the first time in the program's history, the University of Calgary Dinos are Canadian College Baseball Conference champions. After posting wins against Thompson Rivers University and Prairie Baseball Academy in the round-robin, they edged the Victoria Golden Tide 7-6 to get themselves into the CCBC final. Given that it's a double-elimination format, Victoria bounced back with an 11-10 win over PBA to get themselves into the final for a rematch. And what a finale it was in Lethbridge as the Dinos edged the Golden Tide 8-7. We hear from head coach Cam Williams, as well as players Zach Delaquis, Marcus Coderre and Cale Yuzdepski.

The CCBC (Canadian College Baseball) championships were this past weekend in Lethbridge, Alberta and it showed everything that could be right with amateur sports. On episode #110 of the Hockey Strength Podcast and episode #12 of the SCAPH Alumni Series, Rich Hesketh joins the show.  Rich served as the strength and conditioning coach for the Calgary Flames for 19 seasons from 1995-2014. Before that he was on the Canadian National Track and Field team. He was the 1988 Canadian Decathlon Champion and 4-time indoor combined events national Champion. He also coached track and field for 17 years with the University of Calgary Dinos and the Calgary Spartans Track & Field Club. Rich was a consultant for NIKE Hockey Conditioning programs for 6 years currently contributes to hockey training projects for Under Armour.
