Boosting posts can be a simple advertising solution for small businesses with limited skill and budget, but we've seen boosted posts contribute between just 3 and 7% to their KPIs compared to over 90% for dark ads. In this episode, Pollyanna explains how the two advertising tools compare and which is right for your brand. Got a question or a suggestion for the Social Minds podcast?

Reporter: Erik Petersson. Reporter: Jonna Westin.

Although there is still a big fight to fight when it comes to combatting the spreading of fake news and alternative facts, awareness about these issues is rapidly increasing, so we’ve gone some way to empowering ourselves to spot these fraudulent stories when they pop up on our news feed. But now there’s a new, much less noticeable and lesser known way in which our social media feeds can be filled with lies and half-truths specifically tailored to suit the user. If the term “dark adverts” doesn’t mean anything to you, don’t worry because we brought on Jemima Lovatt, the founder of the London Legal Forum, to talk us through everything we need to know, from the role of dark ads in the upcoming general election to who they target and Facebook’s need to take responsibility. #Podcast #Brexit #BrexitPodcast #Referendum #EUReferendum #VoteLeave #VoteRemain #VoteIn #EU #UK #TimHeming #JenniferHahn #News #Politics #DarkAds #Fakenews #Alternativefacts #posttruth #JemimaLovatt #LondonLegalForum #GeneralElection #Facebook #SocialMedia #Twitter #CambridgeAnalytica
