In the realm of pensions and retirement planning, the Small Self-Administered Scheme (SSAS) stands as a potent yet lesser-known tool. To uncover its hidden gems and understand its potential benefits, we delve into an enlightening interview with Brian Harvey, an expert in the field. Firstly, what exactly is a SSAS? In essence, it's a pension scheme tailored for limited company small businesses, allowing greater control and flexibility over investments compared to traditional pension arrangements. With a SSAS, business owners can take the reins of their retirement savings, making strategic investment decisions that align with their long-term financial goals. One of the key advantages of a SSAS is its tax efficiency. Contributions made into the scheme are typically tax-deductible for the business, reducing its taxable profits. Furthermore, investments within the SSAS grow tax-free, maximizing potential returns over time. These tax benefits can significantly bolster both personal and business finances in the long run. Moreover, the loan back provision within a SSAS adds another layer of versatility. This feature allows the scheme to lend funds to the sponsoring employer, providing a valuable source of financing for business endeavours. Whether it's funding expansion projects or addressing short-term cash flow needs, the loan back provision offers a lifeline for businesses looking to navigate financial challenges. Another compelling application of a SSAS lies in property investment. With the ability to purchase commercial property, the scheme opens doors to diversified investment portfolios. From owning business premises to generating rental income, property investments through a SSAS can yield substantial returns while providing stability and security for the future. In conclusion, the SSAS holds a treasure trove of benefits for savvy business owners and investors alike. From tax advantages to flexible investment strategies, its versatility knows no bounds. To unlock the full potential of a SSAS and chart a course towards financial prosperity, reach out to me or Brian at brian@retirement.capital for expert advice and a complimentary consultation.  #SSAS #PensionPlanning #TaxAdvantages #BusinessInvestments #PropertyInvestment #FinancialFreedom #RetirementPlanning

The story of China is space is not one widely known nor properly understood in Western corridors, although China of course has been launching rockets for almost a thousand years. In this episode we welcome back author and Chinese space expert Brian Harvey to help us address that. In 2019, China astonished the world by landing a spacecraft and rover on the far side of the Moon, something never achieved by any country before. China had already become a leading spacefaring nation alongside the United States and Russia, sending men and women into orbit, building a space laboratory (Tiangong) and sending probes to the Moon and asteroids. We start the podcast talking about Carlos Correa and his finally-ending saga. But then we dive into a team that we didn't know all that much about until we went through the archives. After the Dodgers and Giants moved to California following the 1957 season it was only 4 years later that the Los Angeles Angels began playing as an expansion team in the American League. They were actually co-tenants with the Dodgers in the new Chavez Ravine stadium which opened in 1962. With only one World Series title in their history the Angels have suffered more than most teams. The awful playoff loss to the Red Sox in 1986 was one of the most difficult series losses of all time. But the Angels have had stars!  And HOFers passed through like Nolan Ryan, Rod Carew, and even a late -career Reggie Jackson.  Mike Trout is a lock to be a HOFer as an Angel.  Vlad Guerrero Sr. is the only player to wear an Angel cap when inducted (and we think he was better as an Expo).  Gordon thinks Shohei Ohtani has a really good chance.  Please subscribe to our podcast and thanks for listening! Detailed maps allow deep insights to places which are restricted to the public. This book offers a unique look at the physical footprints of Earth's launch sites. With most places hidden away in jungles, deserts, or amid the Central Asian steppes, these places exist for the most part out of the eye of the general public.More about this book - https://dom-publishers.com/products/the-atlas-of-space-rocket-launch-sites Book Reviewshttps://www.wallpaper.com/tech/atlas-of-space-rocket-launch-siteshttps://www.raumfahrer.net/dom-publishers-bringt-the-atlas-of-space-rocket-launch-sites-heraus/https://flugundzeit.blog/2022/12/09/atlas-der-abschussbasen/White paper on Indian supplier landscape: “Driving innovation in the Indian space sector using digital technologies”Discover how Dassault Systèmes can help New Space companies achieve fast, sustainable innovation: The New Frontier of Satellite Technology 3D Perspective on New Space, new horizons Support the NewSpace India podcast by becoming a Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/newspaceindiaWant to keep in touch with the NewSpace India community? Trigger Warning: this week's episode contains dangerous baked potatoes.  It's been a busy week for news for Steve and Remfry to digest this week, some of it is quite serious, like the implications of UMG being made public on the stock exchange and destroying the myth that there's no money in the music industry, some of it is quite exciting, such as the very unexpected reformation of The Fugees and news of Rancid returning to the UK, some of it is very tiring, Slipknot and Machine Gun Kelly bellyaching at each other on Twitter for example, and some stories are just bizarre, like Liam Gallagher claiming rock and roll is alive and well because he fell out of a helicopter… fine, but he's no Brian Harvey! Once all that is out of the way we turn our attention to reviewing a very varied selection of new music from hotly tipped pop-tech-metal sensations Sleep Token (46:23) electro post-rock instrumental conceptualists Public Service Broadcasting (76:33) a very unique collaboration between underground, forward thinking metal artists The Body and Big I Brave (98:37) and Danish “Doomcore” (copyright Stephen Hill, 2021) destroyers LLNN (112:50) This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Chartable - https://chartable.com/privacy

He has won all four of his department's computer science teaching awards. Our conversation focused on designing exams, which he boiled down to his five-finger rule: (1) material coverage, (2) reasonable time, (3) range of difficulty, (4) variety of question types, and (5) ease of grading. His “something awesome in computer science” highlighted his mentors Mike Clancy and Brian Harvey, who are both emeritus teaching professors at UC Berkeley. Mike taught him about having a variety of question types on his exams. While Brian taught Dan his philosophy about grades and grading in general. Dan's Too Long; Didn't Listen (TL; DL) summarized this five-finger rule into an excellent short sound bite.
