Hoax or deliberate spread of misinformation

On. On the show today... The 57th Academy of Country Music Awards were held this week and while there were a slew of stand-out performances and winners, the real highlight of the night came courtesy of Dolly Parton. Plus, Euphoria's critically acclaimed second season came to an end last week but all anybody wanted to talk about were allegations about toxic behaviour on set. Now the network and cast are calling the allegations lies, but we're not quite buying their story. And The Batman is finally in cinemas and raking in cash at the box office, and all eyes are on Zoe Kravitz thanks to her standout performance as Catwoman. But her new wave of success is being marred by a series of false news headlines, that are only taking the attention away from a real industry problem that she's facing. Researchers at five major universities tested people on their ability to spot false news and report, "Although Americans believe the confusion caused by false news is extensive, relatively few indicate having seen or shared it -- a discrepancy suggesting that members of the public may not only have a hard time identifying false news but fail to recognize their own deficiencies at doing so."
Billion-dollar defamation suits continue to mount against Fox News. Dominion Voting Systems is the latest plaintiff to sue Fox for defamation. Fox's litigation position will be challenging given that one of its marquee guests, Sidney Powell, has also been sued for defamation and has admitted in her reply to the suit that "reasonable people" would not have credited what she said. Could we live better lives without the one-sided news media? News media is an elemental part of how we filter the world. We use it to form opinions and develop ideas. For younger people, it defines us and molds us. We look at the world through social media and TV broadcasts. What if we detached from all of that and just looked at the physical world around us? What if we let that world define and create our understanding in which we filter life? These are the questions that I answer in this broadcast. In the second part of the show, I present my ideas on the mask mandates. I work to provide clarification on my statements on mask-wearing and mask mandates. Thank you for listening to this broadcast!
