Hour 1 opens with the Miami Hurricanes baseball staying hot to start the season as they gear up for a rivalry matchup with the Florida Gators baseball this weekend. With the NFL Combine underway, the rumor mill heats up as Joe and Hollywood debate whether a reported $30 million price tag for Malik Willis is too rich for Miami and if familiarity with the Dolphins' new “Green Bay guys” could lower the cost. The hour also touches on South Florida sports business and fan frustrations, including streaming overload, stadium progress for Inter Miami CF, and optimism surrounding the Miami Marlins despite years of low payroll. Draft talk continues with buzz around Mel Kiper Jr. projecting Francis Mauigoa to the Dolphins, plus expectations that several Hurricanes could hear their names called, before Joe reacts to Kirby Smart and Mario Cristobal trading jabs
In hour 2 of the show: - Reuben Bain is at the combine any chance he can fall to 11 where the Dolphins are picking? - Bain or Francis Mauigoa who would you want if available for the Fins - Thursday's Mix Bag
Former Miami Hurricanes star defensive player Reuben Bain is at the 2026 NFL scouting combine the big story abut him is his small arms. Many believe he is the best plyer in the drafty but his measurements can be a factor why teams will not pick up early? Could he and former Hurricanes teammate Francis Mauigoa drop to 11 to the Dolphins? Who would you choose?
Brad and Dan speak at the Combine The Detroit Lions hit the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday with clarity at a critical spot. Minutes after Dan Campbell wrapped his podium, Taylor Decker posted that he is coming back. The timing sharpened the conversation that both Campbell and Brad Holmes started in Indianapolis. Plan as if Decker might not be there. Welcome him if he is. Now he is. That stabilizes left tackle. The Lions still want a real plan B at tackle. Even with Decker back for 2026, they need depth and a future answer. The return eases the pressure to chase a plug-and-play starter immediately. It also widens the draft choices. Detroit can shop for value instead of forcing the board. Ready-Now vs. Upside at Tackle, and the Ripple at Edge With Decker in place, the Lions can consider a developmental tackle at 17 or 50. That shifts the calculus between floor and ceiling. Spencer Fano and Francis Mauigoa are widely viewed as the most NFL-ready. They might not reach Detroit. The alternative is betting on growth. Caleb Lomu fits the long-range model. Monroe Freeling does too. There is even patience baked in for an injured stash like Isaiah Wood on Day 3. Freed from a must-start tackle search, Detroit can let the best player win the room. The vibe in Indianapolis points to edge and offensive line as the early pillars. Safety lingers as a swing factor. The first two rounds still look like edge and offensive line, with safety in the mix if the board breaks right. Safety Health Clouds the Secondary, Card-Ready at 17? Both leaders addressed the safeties' health. The update on Kerby was cautious. More will be known in about a month. The staff is probing his recovery and realistic timeline. It did not sound overly promising. Branch tore his Achilles late in the season. A return before the start seems unlikely, and peak form could take time in 2026. The defense felt that loss. When the NFL's interception leader went down with a knee injury, the secondary buckled and the unit needed weeks to adjust. That context keeps safety very live on Day 1 or 2. If Cam Dow is there at 17, the card goes in. Otherwise, Detroit can let a deep edge class meet a flexible tackle board and take what the NFL gives. One more steadying note from the Combine floor: the defensive coaching staff stays intact. Campbell is energized by that continuity. The Detroit Lions Podcast will have more as medicals and workouts reshape this board in real time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OzHbLEbLDg #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #taylordecker #bradholmes #dancampbell #nflscoutingcombine #lucasoilfield #offensivetackle #edgerusher #spencerfano #francismanu #caleblomu #monroefraley #isaiahwood #kirby #branchachilles #pick17 Learn more about your ad choices. Canes insider Alex Donno breaks down the NFL Draft outlook for Hurricanes football, focusing on standout prospects Francis Mauigoa and Rueben Bain Jr.. Donno says it would be a dream scenario for the Miami Dolphins to land either player at pick 11, while also noting how draft discourse often shifts from praise during the season to nitpicking in the pre-draft process. He credits Mauigoa and Bain as foundational pieces in Mario Cristobal's push to bring “The U” back to national relevance, and adds that Akheem Mesidor has first-round talent even if his stock may land slightly lower. Donno also offers thoughts on defensive back Keionte Scott and where he could fit at the next level.
Hour 3 kicks off with Alex Donno joining to react to a playful, rap battle–style roast between Mario Cristobal and Kirby Smart at an awards ceremony. Monday's show kicks off with USA Hockey winning gold at the Winter Olympics for the first time in 46 years. The conversation shifts to the Miami Dolphins, debating drafting a Miami Hurricane at pick 11, how NIL is impacting players' decisions to stay in college, and the latest QB rumors, including Anthony Richardson and Malik Willis, with Omar Kelly and Dan Day sharing their takes. Hour 3 kicks off with Alex Donno joining the show as Omar Kelly explains why a $30 million price tag for Malik Willis is far too high after only six NFL starts, noting that backup QBs rarely succeed when thrust into starting roles. The conversation then turns to hoops, with the Canes falling in a tough game against Virginia, but still showing enough promise to be ranked and remain NCAA Tournament contenders according to Donno. The discussion shifts to the NBA as the crew praises Pat Riley's new statue in LA, comparing it to Dwyane Wade's Miami statue, and then touches on the Canes football roster coming together for the upcoming season. Donno also weighs in on Miami's draft prospects, highlighting Francis Mauigoa and breaking down potential selections like Mesidor and Bain, while the crew briefly reacts to NBA YoungBoy making headlines for his 13th child at age 26.
On this episode of the Orange and Brown Talk podcast, Lance Reisland and Dan Labbe dive into the 2026 NFL Draft. They start in the trenches, breaking down the top offensive tackle prospects like Spencer Fano from Utah and Francis Mauigoa from Miami. Lance explains why he values 'nastiness' and a love for the game over pure analytics when scouting linemen, and they identify some Day 2 and Day 3 sleepers. Then, the conversation shifts to the skill positions, including Jordyn Tyson, Makai Lemon and Carnell Tate. Of course, the guys have the mandatory Cleveland media discussion: Should the Browns take Ohio State safety Caleb Downs at No. 6? They debate the philosophy of drafting the best player available versus a premier position of need like offensive tackle. The episode wraps with a look at the quarterback class, discussing why a player like Garrett Nussmeier might be a forgotten man and what to make of Alabama's Ty Simpson. The guys break down the Miami Hurricanes' top draft prospects, with Rueben Bain and Francis Mauigoa both expected to go in the top ten — and debate whether one could slip to the Dolphins at pick 11. They highlight how strong performances in the College Football Playoffs have already given NFL teams plenty of tape to evaluate, meaning neither player really needs additional workouts or combines. The conversation shifts to quarterbacks, examining how much a QB's success depends on surrounding talent and coaching, using Cam Ward's struggles in Tennessee as an example. Finally, the guys discuss which NFL situations and coaching staffs give QBs the best chance to succeed at the next level.
The hour kicks off with a breakdown of the Miami Hurricanes' top NFL draft prospects, Rueben Bain and Francis Mauigoa, both expected in the top ten, and whether one could slip to the Dolphins at pick 11. The guys highlight how strong playoff performances have already given NFL teams plenty of tape, eliminating the need for extra workouts or combines. The discussion then shifts to quarterbacks, using Cam Ward's struggles in Tennessee to show how much QB success depends on surrounding talent and coaching, and debating which NFL situations give quarterbacks the best chance to thrive. Attention turns to Miami, where Joe stresses that the Dolphins' new GM and head coach face a huge rebuild and urges fans to be patient despite 25 years without playoff wins, praising the continuity in letting the GM pick his own coach.
On Wednesday's show, the Miami Hurricanes continue to impress with thrilling wins in both basketball and baseball, as Joe highlights the university president's push to elevate football, hoops, and baseball across the department. The conversation quickly turns to the Miami Dolphins, with analysis of the difficult but necessary departures of Bradley Chubb and Tyreek Hill, the roster cleanout just beginning, and the importance of young players like Jonah Savaiinaea and Chop Robinson taking the next step. NFL insider Omar Kelly joins to question some of the Dolphins' offseason moves, including James Daniels' release, the organization's QB approach, and whether Minkah Fitzpatrick might seek a trade, while Hollywood's Headlines covers Tiger Woods, Jaden Rashada, and some truly bizarre legal news. Later, Joe and the crew break down draft prospects Rueben Bain and Francis Mauigoa, explore how QB success is tied to talent and coaching, and discuss the patience required as the Dolphins' new regime works to rebuild a team that hasn't seen a playoff win in 25 years.

The guys highlight Devon Achane as one of the Dolphins' best draft picks and a true difference-maker for the team. They talk about the Bills attempting to trade for Jaylen Waddle last season and discuss how the new GM views Waddle as a foundational piece as Miami looks to build through the draft. Quarterback remains the biggest question, with Joe predicting that if the Dolphins sign Malik Willis, he'd beat out Quinn Ewers in camp. They also run through other major roster decisions involving Bradley Chubb and Austin Jackson, while Joe emphasizes the need to draft an offensive guard — floating Miami's Francis Mauigoa as a strong option.
Hour 2 opens with the Canes' big basketball win before shifting to the Dolphins' offseason, where Joe highlights Devon Achane as a key player who deserves a new deal despite the running back market. They dive into the quarterback carousel, with Malik Willis emerging as Miami's top target while Hollywood cautions against overcommitting to the wrong player like they did with Tua, and they discuss where Carson Beck might land in the draft. The conversation expands to other roster priorities, including Bradley Chubb, Austin Jackson, and the need to add an offensive guard, with Francis Mauigoa mentioned as a potential target. The hour wraps with Hollywood's Headlines, covering an Olympic athlete apologizing for cheating, Jaxson Hayes facing a lawsuit from a mascot, and California spending $350 million on OnlyFans subscriptions, led by Los Angeles.

The guys react to Seattle's defensive dominance in Super Bowl 60 and argue that Minnesota clearly made a mistake moving on from Sam Darnold. While the Patriots' defense held strong and kept the Seahawks out of the end zone for much of the night, Seattle still controlled the game from start to finish. They note it wasn't an all-time classic Super Bowl, but that won't matter to the champs. The conversation shifts to college football, where bowl games continue to lose relevance and the College Football Playoff could soon expand to 16 teams with a new format. Joe also praises Miami's elite left tackle recruit Jackson Cantwell, saying he reminds him of Francis Mauigoa, and wraps the segment with a recap of a wedding weekend that was a great time—but a little tougher on the body than it used to be.
Garret, Andrew, and Jagger transform into NFL general managers for a complete first-round mock draft covering all 32 picks, and the results spark immediate controversy. Fernando Mendoza predictably goes first overall to the Raiders, but the chaos begins at pick two when Jagger selects safety Caleb Downs for the Jets instead of trading back. The quarterback-desperate teams face brutal decisions with only three signal-callers selected: Mendoza at one, Ty Simpson to the Jets at 16, and Garrett Nussmeier to the Rams at 29 in Jagger's boldest call of the draft. Garret prioritizes trenches for the Browns, selecting Francis Mauigoa at six and Olaivavega Ioane at 24 to rebuild Cleveland's decimated offensive line. The wide receiver class scatters throughout the first round with Carnell Tate landing in Tennessee at four to pair with Cam Ward, Jordyn Tyson to New Orleans at eight, and Denzel Boston falling to Buffalo at 26 after Jagger admits he "re-reviewed the tape" and raised his grade. The most dynasty-relevant selection lands at 19 when Carolina selects tight end Kenyon Sadiq to provide Bryce Young another weapon alongside Tetairoa McMillan, creating what the crew agrees is a "hand-in-glove fit" for the rebuilding Panthers. Explore more tools and resources to stay ahead of your league.
NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline joins to break down this year's quarterback class, noting that few QBs impress him outside of Fernando Mendoza, who is widely expected to go No. 1 overall. He shares his predictions for top prospects, including Rueben Bain as a likely top-10 pick and Akheem Mesidor as a late first-round or early second-round selection. Pauline also weighs in on Francis Mauigoa's draft status, noting he could fall to the Dolphins at pick 11, and discusses the depth at wide receiver. He highlights the defensive front seven as the strength of this year's draft class.
Hour 3 features NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline breaking down this year's quarterback class, highlighting Fernando Mendoza as the only QB who truly impresses him and projecting Rueben Bain and Francis Mauigoa as top picks. The conversation shifts to the Hall of Fame controversy, with Robert Kraft left off the ballot following Bill Belichick's snub, and Joe examines the complicated dynamic between Kraft and Belichick that shaped the Patriots' two decades of success. Dolphins insider Kyle Crabbs joins to weigh in on Miami's quarterback search, the team's new defensive philosophy, draft targets, and why he doesn't expect both Minkah Fitzpatrick and Bradley Chubb back next season.
Hour 2 dives into the NFL Draft and the Senior Bowl, with Joe noting that the league only cares about talent, not where a player came from or how much NIL money they made. The crew debates the Dolphins' draft hopes, especially if Rueben Bain or Francis Mauigoa fall to pick 11, while also breaking down Kel'el Ware's true value amid Heat trade buzz and Giannis potentially viewing Miami as an attractive landing spot. The conversation shifts to the struggling Panthers missing Aleksander Barkov as players prepare for the Olympics, and returns to the Dolphins' quarterback uncertainty, with a thin QB draft class and college players now earning big NIL money complicating the hunt for a franchise passer.

Southeastern 16's Jay Greeson and Chris Lee power-rank the four teams remaining in the College Football Playoff, which are Indiana, Oregon, Miami and Ole Miss. Topics include the cases for and against each team, which are: Miami has the country's best pass-rush, led by elite guys in Akheem Mesidor and Rueben Bain Jr. It has outstanding, play-making defensive backs in Keionte Scott and Bryce Fitzgerald. On offense, it has potential NFL first-round tackle Francis Mauigoa, one of the country's best receivers in Malachi Toney and a future NFL running back in Mark Fletcher, not to mention an experienced quarterback in Carson Beck. However, the Hurricanes lost to a pair of teams that are unranked in the final regular-season AP poll in SMU and Louisville, the latter at home. Indiana is the nation's only unbeaten team and perhaps the most statistically-dominant one, too. Not only did the Hoosiers have the Heisman Trophy winner in Fernando Mendoza, but they've got all-American and all-conference players at every position on the field and were strong in offense, defense and special teams. And, of course, Indiana has coach Curt Cignetti, who may be the coach most suited to win in the modern college football environment. The Hoosiers did not have a statistical weakness for the season. However, they were more mortal in spells, such as a 20-15 win at Iowa in which they had 337 yards of total offense and a 27-24 win at Penn State in which they trailed late into the fourth quarter and were out-gained, 336-326. Oregon can challenge Indiana's statistical dominance in some ways. The Ducks' yards-per-play difference of 2.5 was the same as the Hoosiers and like IU, is strong in the trenches. Oregon also has star power in quarterback Dante Moore and four all-Americans: tight end Kenyon Sadiq, offensive linemen Emanual Pregnon and Iapani Lalolu and defensive lineman Dillon Thieneman. That defense was also salty against Texas Tech, shutting out the Red Raiders in their first playoff game. However, Oregon's case for the top spot is hurt by the fact the Ducks lost 30-20 to Indiana in the regular season. Ole Miss wasn't supposed to be here under rookie coach Pete Golding. But the Rebels have buy-in and confidence, a star quarterback in Trinidad Chambliss who's gotten better as the season has progressed, a wide receiving corps that spreads teams out, a stud running back in Kewan Lacy and a defense that wasn't outstanding but was consistent. And speaking of consistency, the Rebels were held under 417 yards of offense (that was their lone loss to Georgia during the regular season). The Rebels were more consistent than dominant. They gained 6.7 yards per play and gave up 5.3. &COLLAR Use promo code SEC16 for 16% off! Joe opens the show fed up with Tua Tagovailoa, criticizing his play and press conferences while questioning the Dolphins' leadership and long-term vision. Off the field, Joe admits to classic dad fails as he and Dave scramble for Christmas gifts, while the crew breaks down the tense Miami–Texas A&M matchup, highlighting standout performances from Francis Mauigoa and the Hurricanes' defense. The conversation turns back to the Dolphins, debating Mike McDaniel's job security, whether Miami should promote from within, and the need to go all-in on a rookie quarterback despite limited draft capital. Chris Perkins joins to weigh in on potential Pro Bowlers, roster-building priorities, and past bad signings, while Joe and Dave push back against tanking theories. The show wraps with Mike Florio joining to discuss McDaniel's future, NFL coaching security, a possible Lamar Jackson-to-Miami move, DK Metcalf's suspension, and his take on Philip Rivers' Hall of Fame chances.
The crew opens with praise for University of Miami president Joe Echevarria, highlighting his hands-on leadership and the role it has played in the Hurricanes' football resurgence. They also spotlight right tackle Francis Mauigoa for his dominant performance against Texas A&M, shutting down the SEC Defensive Player of the Year, while giving credit to a Canes defense that stifled the Aggies all night. The segment wraps by pivoting back to the Dolphins, raising the big-picture question of what the organization's true vision is moving forward.
Joe opens the show fed up with Tua Tagovailoa, criticizing his play, his press conferences, and questioning whether the Dolphins truly know who they are at the top of the organization. The hour lightens up with some off-the-field humor as Joe admits to not knowing his kids' birthdays and dives into his ongoing gift-giving dilemma, noting why shopping for guys is always easier. The focus then shifts to college football, where Texas A&M's trash talk of Bain backfires in a tense, high-stakes showdown with Miami. The hour wraps with praise for Hurricanes leadership, Francis Mauigoa's dominant performance, a suffocating Canes defense, and a lingering question about the Dolphins' long-term vision.

Florida travels to Miami to face a Hurricane squad that's had one of the best starts of anyone in the 2025 season. Chris Lee and Brian Edwards discuss the following topics around the game, which will be shown at 6:30 Central on ABC. Topics include: The Gators are talented but are finding all kinds of ways to lose games, ranging from DJ Lagway's five interceptions to penalties to poor offensive line play. Florida has tons of talent everywhere, including wide receiver Eugene Wilson, and is capable of big plays. Florida will not have DL Caleb Banks for this one. Miami quarterback Carson Beck's change of scenery has resulted in Beck being a top Heisman contender. The Hurricanes have an outstanding running back in NFL prospect in Mark Fletcher. The 'Canes also have outstanding talent on the lines of scrimmage, including defensive lineman Reuben Bain and offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa. Embattled Florida coach Billy Napier really needs a win here with a tough schedule ahead. Which Miami Hurricanes sophomores are ready to break out in 2024? We already saw some of Miami's talented 2023 freshmen like Rueben Bain, Mark Fletcher and Francis Mauigoa break out last year, but several more are ready to do the same this season. Offensive lineman Samsom Okunlola was a 5-Star recruit but missed most of his freshman campaign with injury. He is competing for a starting job on the OL this season. Linebacker Raul “Popo” Aguirre has been shining in practice. There are also other candidates like receivers Ray Ray Joseph and Robby Washington, defensive back Damari Brown, or edge rusher Jayden Wayne. Host Alex Donno breaks down these sophomore risers and also discusses Miami veterans who are improving their stock heading into next year. Donno believes that players like left tackle Jalen Rivers, tight end Elijah Arroyo, and defensive lineman Jared Harrison-Hunte are continuing to improve. Donno explains the value Cam Ward brings to Miami in terms of extra wins and wonders if he could break Miami's single season passing record this year. Alex explains why the ACC and Big 12 had no choice but to accept a diminished revenue distribution in the new College Football Playoff format. Locked On Canes - Daily Podcast On Miami Hurricanes Football & Basketball
The Miami Hurricanes are seeing quick progress from true freshman running back Mark Fletcher and true freshman defensive lineman Rueben Bain. Fletcher, at 6-1, 223 lbs, might easily be Miami's best option near the goal line. Offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson says Fletcher is adapting quickly. On defense, “Hurricane” Bain is picking up where he left off in spring football. DC Lance Guidry said he will definitely get on the field this year. Host Alex Donno reacts to the quick progress from Fletcher and Bain. He also notes that freshman offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa is the most “day one ready” out of the entire 2023 class. Fans can also expect an early impact from WR Ray Ray Joseph, DT Joshua Horton and CB Damari Brown. Donno explains why Miami's coordinators feel that the Canes' downfield passing game and run-stopping are still a work in progress. Miami's coordinators each gave an honest assessment of their respective units on Saturday. Donno answers questions from listeners on fall camp, recruiting, and conference realignment. Locked On Canes - Daily Podcast On Miami Hurricanes Football & Basketball
Over the first two days of Miami Hurricanes fall camp, a trend is emerging: The true freshmen and transfers are out there pushing the veterans to the limit. Freshman receiver Nathaniel “Ray Ray” Joseph has been earning praise from elder teammates like Xavier Restrepo and Colbie Young. Freshman cornerback Damari Brown earned some starting cornerback reps on Wednesday. Freshman offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa and his brother, transfer Francisco Mauigoa, are earning starting reps at offensive tackle and linebacker, respectively. Freshman tight end Riley Williams has looked solid so far. Host Alex Donno breaks down these early trends and how the competition on the Greentree Practice fields has been amping up. Donno also breaks down the excellent performance from transfer cornerbacks Ja'Dais Richard and Jaden Davis. Davis is trending to become the starting nickel/star. Veteran safety James Williams is expected to see some reps at outside linebacker. Donno explains why this suits him and Miami's defense so well. Congratulations to OL Javion Cohen, S Kam Kinchens and K Andres Borregales for being named Preseason All-ACC!You can chat with Donno any time on our new Subtext SMS texting service.
