The Miami Hurricanes are trending to land a commitment from 5-star WR Joshisa “JoJo” Trader in the class of 2024. The Chaminade-Madonna standout was crystal balled to Miami by 247's Steve Wiltfon and predicted by On3's Chad Simmons to choose The U. These predictions come very early, though, with over 10 months remaining until the first national signing day of 2024. Can Miami take a commanding lead on Trader and even gain some ground into flipping his high school teammate and fellow 5-star WR Jeremiah Smith, a current Ohio State commit? Guest Brian Smith from All Hurricanes joins host Alex Donno to share insight on Trader's recruitment. Brian spoke to both Trader and Smith over the weekend at Battle 7-on-7. The guys discuss why they feel Miami is the team to beat for transfer cornerback Jaheim Singletary from Georgia. He's a former 5-star recruit with three years of eligibility remaining. Alex and Brian discuss whether it's possible for Miami to pivot Josh Gattis to a different role on the offensive staff if he doesn't leave for another job. Could Miami demote him and bring in a new playcaller? Is this idea practical? The guys break down Miami's dominant basketball win over Florida State on Tuesday night and what the expectations should be for the Hurricanes in the NCAA tournament. Brian recaps what an excellent job head coach Jim Larranaga has done at The U, and why Miami is the type of team that can scare anyone in the country. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! The Miami Hurricanes need a new quarterbacks coach to replace Frank Ponce. Miami is also rumored to be needing a new offensive coordinator soon, IF Josh Gattis departs. Why are things taking so long? Is there a certain deadline that needs to be met? Host Alex Donno discusses why Mario Cristobal is working on a timeline that might be slower than what fans are hoping for. Donno believes James Coley, current tight ends coach at Texas A&M and a former Miami OC, is a name to watch at quarterbacks coach. Donno believes Miami might shuffle their defensive staff too, with the possibility of Charlie Strong being promoted to defensive coordinator. Alex answers questions from listeners. You can tweet the show at @LockedOnCanes. Alex explains why the Jaden Rashada fiasco in Gainesville could lead to NIL reforms in the future. He answers a question about which Miami player projects as a high NFL draft pick. Donno believes Kam Kinchens is the best answer. Leonard Taylor, TreVonte Citizen, Mark Fletcher, Francis Mauigoa and Samson Okunlola also have early round potential. Alex explains how a 7-5 season could either be a catastrophe or a step in the right direction next year depending on certain conditions. Donno throws out his dream candidates and realistic candidates for offensive coaching jobs at The U. It certainly won't be Ken Dorsey, who is interviewing for the head coaching job at the Carolina Panthers. Congratulations to Dorsey, we hope you get the job! Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Despite Miami Hurricanes verbal commit Cormani McClain trying to keep it a secret, he did in fact visit the Colorado Buffaloes over the weekend. It's been reported that McClain no-showed a visit from Miami coaches at Lakeland High School on Friday because he was on his way to Boulder to see Deion Sanders. If that report is true, has Miami already pulled his offer or moved on from McClain completely? Host Alex Donno shares the latest on the situation and explains how these situations have happened before, will happen again, and will become even more commonplace in the age of NIL. Miami has apparently pivoted to Georgia transfer CB Jaheim Singletary. Gaby Urrutia of Inside The U reported that Miami went over to Jacksonville after their stop in Lakeland in order to meet with Singletary in person in his hometown. The Hurricanes are expected to make an aggressive push for the former 5-star recruit. Meanwhile, Miami has hosted USC transfer WR Gary Bryant Jr. this weekend and we await feedback. Bryant is expected to take other visits and do his due diligence before making a final decision. Miami might have another WR target on the board, with South Florida native Tyler Harrell from Alabama hitting the portal. Harrell is a Columbus High School grad. On this week's episode of the Billieve Podcast, host John Boccacino offers up a quick recap of the Buffalo Bills' 24-10 win over the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football, then discusses two key takeaways from the victory: whether RB James Cook has done enough to supplant Devin Singletary as RB1, and how Buffalo's defensive line passed its first test without talented edge rusher Von Miller. The win was Buffalo's third straight road win over New England, and the last time the Bills won three straight in Foxboro was the 1992-1994 seasons, during the team's Super Bowl days. Among the topics discussed: We saw a return of precise and accurate Josh Allen, whose numbers won't overwhelm you, but who also limited mistakes while guiding an effective and efficient offense that scored touchdowns on all three trips into the red zone. The Bills just played three games in 12 days on the road with a banged-up roster and went 3-0. No NFL team ever has been scheduled to play three road games in 12 days. Going back to the 1990 season, NFL teams have endured three-game road trips 144 times, and only 14 of those teams managed to win all three of their games (nine percent). The Bills could not only find themselves atop the AFC East heading into Sunday, they could reclaim the No. 1 seed in the AFC if the San Francisco 49ers defeat the Miami Dolphins, and the Cincinnati Bengals knock off the Kansas City Chiefs. Cook finished with more than 100 all-purpose yards, rushing 14 times for 64 yards (4.6 yards per carry) while catching five passes for 41 yards. Many Bills fans wanted to see what Cook could do with a larger share of the touches in the backfield, and based on what we saw on Thursday, Cook deserves to get more touches in this offense. But he hasn't surpassed Singletary as the top running back. Singletary is still a critical part of the offense, and hasn't done anything to see his role diminished. In its first game without Von Miller, the unquestioned leader of the defensive line, A.J. Epenesa, Greg Rousseau, Shaq Lawson and Boogie Basham responded to the challenge. While it is far too early to say how well Buffalo's defensive line will perform without Miller, this was a great night for the defense, and for Epenesa, Lawson, Rousseau and Basham. Unlike last year, when Devin Singletary and Zack Moss were battling to win the Buffalo Bills' RB 1 job during training camp and into the regular season, this year, Singletary is the unquestioned lead back in Buffalo's backfield. After the Bills saw their season end in the playoffs at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs, general manager Brandon Beane made it known the team wanted to add more speed to its offense, and as far as the backfield was concerned, Beane wanted to bring in both more speed and add a pass-catching dimension to their running back room. So Buffalo signed free agent Duke Johnson and drafted Georgia's James Cook in the second round to go with Singletary, Moss, and special teams ace Taiwan Jones. How do the new members of the backfield fit in with the returning veterans? On this week's episode of the Billieve Podcast, host John Boccacino discusses Buffalo's running backs, including the role that Cook will play as a rookie, whether Moss is on the roster bubble, how Singletary can get even better heading into a critical season, and if Johnson is a threat to take away snaps from the other running backs.
