It's the offseason for football, but Pete and Sam still have a packed show midway through March. Unfortunately, some of the content is for the wrong reasons... after breaking down the ACC Tournament loss to Wake Forest, the guys discuss what went wrong this year, and what the future may hold for Mike Young and the basketball program. Later in the show, Pete's former college buddy, Brian, hops in to talk about the best thing going in Blacksburg, Tony Robie's wrestling program. They won the ACC for the 2nd year in a row and there's plenty to be excited about as the team gets ready for NCAAs. Finally, Sam answers questions about our baseball program, and tells you exactly what they have to do to get to Omaha, even after a disappointing start to the season. While injuries in sports are never a good thing, North Carolina's ability to come together as a group in the wake of Caleb Wilson's setback took another step forward on Saturday night. The Heels handled Virginia Tech with a collective effort, getting the 89-82 win and setting up a final week of regular season play with momentum and chemistry Hubert Davis's team will need when tournament season begins in just ten days. Henri Veesaar paced Carolina with 26 points while Seth Trimble continued his scoring binge, adding 20. Jonathan Powell added 15 points while Zayden High tallied 12, including all eight of his free throw attempts. Inside Carolina's senior reporter Greg Barnes joins Tommy Ashley to discuss the win, the keys that led to the win, those pivotal players that have stepped up recently and what lies ahead for UNC. **Call to Action:** **Subscribe:** Follow 'Inside Carolina' wherever you get your podcasts to never miss an episode! **Review:** Leave us a 5-star review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify to help us reach more Tar Heel fans! **Visit:** Explore http://www.InsideCarolina.com for breaking news, recruiting updates, and expert commentary on all things UNC sports. Inside Carolina senior reporter Greg Barnes joins Tommy Ashley to discuss North Carolina's Saturday night ACC matchup with Virginia Tech in the Smith Center. With the regular season winding down, UNC has another chance to pad their postseason resume with a win over a Hokie team that has been hit or miss during the conference season. Mike Young's squard comes in fresh off a blow out of Wake Forest, but sits 7-8 in league play and is just 2-5 on the road during that time. Carolina will have a healthy Henri Veesaar and the IC duo discusses the numbers behind the importance of the seven footer's presence on the court for the Heels while, as Barnes points out, the play of Seth Trimble and how he produces on the court, is a good barometer for how Hubert Davis's team plays overall. Barnes and Ashley discuss the importance of this game against Virginia Tech and on Tuesday versus Clemson for their NCAA Tournament seeding. A win against Virginia Tech could solidify a five seed, while winning out, including beating Duke, could secure a four seed. Pete and Sam are back! Coach Franklin held the introductory press conference for his coaching staff on Wednesday, leaving a ton for the guys to break down in this episode. This was the first time we heard from Brent Pry since he was announced as the DC - plenty of intrigue about his return, and how he his embracing his new role. Finally, the men's basketball team is back on the bubble. With 8 league games left, the Hokies have to find a way to steal one or two on the road if they want to play meaningful basketball in March.
Send me a DM here (it doesn't let me respond), OR email me: imagineabetterworld2020@gmail.comToday I'm thrilled to have back on the show for a second time: MK ULTRA and Project Stargate survivor and whistleblower, targeted individual, filmmaker, podcaster, musician, athlete and former Virginia Tech all-American running back, entrepreneur, mental health advocate, and hometown hero from the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA: Tommy Edwards aka: Touchdown Tommy!A little bit about Tommy if you are new here, if you missed his debut on ‘The Imagination', or if you need a quick recap: Born in February 1974 in Radford, Virginia - a historic town cradled by one of the world's oldest rivers - Tommy entered a world shadowed by grief yet illuminated by legacy. His father, Ken Edwards, a Virginia Tech Hall of Famer who wore jersey #33 and was drafted by the Buffalo Bills, carried the weight of family tragedies that shaped a dynasty of determination. Tommy, inheriting that same number and spirit, would become a beacon for thousands. As a boy, Tommy faced challenges - dyslexia, feeling like an outsider, family struggles - but he discovered fire on the field. At Radford High School, he exploded as a consensus All-American running back and first-team All-State linebacker. In his junior and senior years alone, he rushed for nearly 4,000 yards and scored an astonishing 57 touchdowns - a record that still echoes through the valleys. Recruited by powerhouses, he chose Virginia Tech in 1992, following his father's footsteps. In 1993, as a redshirt freshman, Touchdown Tommy burst onto the national stage. He scored 10 touchdowns (including four in a single game against Pittsburgh), led the nation in scoring for six weeks, and helped propel the Hokies to a top-15 finish and a bowl victory. He and his father became the first father-son duo in NCAA history to score rushing touchdowns in bowl games - a legacy of grit and glory. Headlines screamed his name; fans chanted "Touchdown Tommy"; the program ascended from mediocrity to dominance, setting the foundation for future championships.Tommy's story deepened into a profound journey of awakening. Repressed memories surfaced of childhood encounters with Project Stargate, MK ULTRA, and lifelong targeting as a gifted "star child." He endured gangstalking, electronic harassment, false hospitalizations, and a terrifying SWAT standoff - yet he emerged stronger, speaking truth against corruption, exploitation in sports, and hidden programs. Diagnosed with advanced CTE symptoms (brain scans showing severe damage that should have left him institutionalized), he battles daily with severe symptomology, but his spirit remains unshakeable. The 2026 VT football schedule is here! In year one of the James Franklin era, the ACC served up a stinker. The away slate is brutal, 6 true road games, and the league has Tech traveling all over the country. The back half of the dance card has the Hokies playing 4 of the top 6 teams in the league from 2025. Those four don't even include the Clemson game - a trip to Death Valley looms large in late October. There are some potential top-25 challenges, but most, if not all, are projected to come away from Lane Stadium. Tap in to hear the gang's first reaction to the 2026 slate.
