On January 18, 2025, a brand new 10,000 square foot facility had its grand opening at the MCC Hub in New Hamburg, Ontario. Over 700 people of all ages including local dignitaries and politicians, came out to tour the place, eating bushels of popcorn, drinking gallons of coffee, and generally creating the most festive atmosphere you could imagine for the opening of an industrial canning facility. Why the excitement? Because this was MCC's new Stationary Meat Cannery. We hear from Jon Lebold, Martin Rahn, and Dylan Yantzi about the early challenges, the recent challenges and how this project “kept drawing in miracles."Transcription here.Discussion guide here. Come on down! TV Game shows have been around for a very long time. And while the history of this format has been around forever, the appeal of them has always been the same - that everyday people could win a lot of money by being tested for their mental or physical abilities (or more times than not just dumb luck). So this week join Tuong La and What We Do in the Basement's Jesse Bergen, Natashia Durand, and Thomas Proles as they they land on the Daily Double and give the final answer of "what is Top 5 TV Game Shows?". "There are three types of people: Those at the top, those at the bottom, and those who fall." There have been many films that have tried to provide social commentary on status and class in such a way that it's almost become it's own sub-genre of movies. And while Parasite has popularized this sub genre in such a way that it set up a very a high bar for movies to follow, there is still room for these types of movies to say something new to add to the conversation. This week join Tuong La and The Insatiable Jesse Bergen as they brace their appetites talking about the Spanish Thriller film about a vertical platform, hunger, and the most ill-conceived prison system - Netflix's The Platform! In this episode we have the awesome pleasure of talking to the lead singer of thrash metal band Diabology, Jesse Bergen. We discuss the origins of the band as well as what has influenced them stylistically…. The band as a whole is young, but make no mistake, they can shred with the best of them. Be sure to wait after the interview to here their recent single, “Seas of Eternity”… ..Jesse ( 2nd on the left) and Diabology.. We decided to have a little fun with the hypothetical… Josh and I vs Jesse. We each put together a supergroup consisting of : A vocalist, a guitarist, a bassist, a drummer, and multi-instrumentalist. What ensued was an interesting and fun examination of generational preference. If you wanna find Diabology online: Website: https://diabology.bandcamp.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/Diabology8

Is it just us or is it about to get steamy in here? That's right, it's Jesse Bergen and Thomas Toles, the original Love Gurus. They're here to teach you about how to track down that mysterious admirer who's been leaving you anonymous Valentine's cards all these years. Let their rich, dulcet voices take you on an audio journey filled with romance, Garfield references, and obscure typography puns.
Oh boy, have we got a wild one for you! Jesse Bergen and Thomas Toles are joined by a whopping FIVE guests this time! East coast improvisers Spencer Dunn and Michelle Hart have stopped in on their way across Canada promoting the Canadian Improv Games (CIG)! Improv power couple Katy Bennet and Karl Plummer lend their wisdom, and returning guest Tristen Foy is back as well! All this is to say, this is a 45 minute audio file in which seven people talk about a gymnastic maneuver called a "round off."
Thomas Toles, Jesse Bergen, and Luke Cecelon delve into the high-stakes world of espionage with this week's episode, "How To Be A Teenage Spy." They learn what the different roles in a spy team are, why you need a "hit list", and how being a spy is a lot like being a stand-up comedian.
Something Wiki This Way Comes is a comedy/educational podcast where three improvisers walk you through a WikiHow article, and then do some improvised scenes based on their discussion. Join Thomas Toles, Jesse Bergen, and Luke Cecelon as they answer the age old question: how are you REALLY supposed to eat pizza?
