Message us.In this second episode of Season Eleven, host Andrew Martin is delighted to welcome the family historian, author, lecturer, historical interpreter, One-Place and One-Name studier Dr. Janet Few who amongst these roles is also the President of the Family History Federation.Janet explains how she got hooked on researching family history, her passion for One-Name and One-Place studies and how they complement family history research, and her thoughts on the genealogy industry.THE LIFE STORY - ANN STRATFORDJanet has chosen to tell the life story of her 2x Great Grandmother Ann Stratford b.c. 1834, with whom Janet discovered a surprise extra connection to. Ann's family were based in a rural community in Buckinghamshire, England, and times were hard. Ann learned straw plaiting (something Janet wasn't as successful with) and this brought the family a valuable income. However, plaiting was taught at an early age in specialist schools, and those who were good at it could earn sometimes twice as much as the men... and this seems to have been a problem! The plait girls and women were thought of as disreputable, and they were victim of lots of bad press. THE BRICK WALL - MARY CARDELLAn unusual surname gives Janet a long-term brick wall - Mary Cardell - her 2x Great Grandmother and the only one of her 2x Great Grandparents whose parents (her 3x Gt Grandparents) remain unknown.Janet has found several references to Mary having been born in Highgate, Middlesex, England, with her 1841 marriage certificate giving her father as James Cardell, and the witnesses including a Catherine Cardell. Janet can't find a baptism record for Mary, but she can find references to other Cardells, but she isn't able to link them up. Is there a Worcestershire connection? Can you help Janet;Find Mary and her husband Philip Woolgar in the 1851 census?Find Mary's baptism, with James Cardell as her father? If you think you can help Janet with a clue or idea, then you can contact her at her Granny's Tales website. Alternatively, you can send us a message and we'll pass it on.In the meantime, Janet is curious of Andrew's offer of help, but has concerns over her safety...- - -Episode Credits:Andrew Martin - Host and ProducerDr. Janet Few - GuestSupport the showThank you for listening! Jesus is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:10-12 One Name That Saves Some people say that all spiritual paths lead to the same place. The idea sounds appealing, kind, and welcoming. It sounds peaceful. But is it true? When Simon Peter spoke to the religious council in Jerusalem, he refused to soften his message. He did not hold back. He declared that salvation—rescue from sin, death, and judgment—comes through one name: Jesus Christ. Peter did not offer Jesus as one option among many teachers. He did not portray Jesus as a guide who points the way toward truth or salvation. He proclaimed that no other name saves. Jesus is not an option. He is the only Savior. People sometimes resist hearing that only one name saves. It challenges our pride. We want to be able to prove ourselves, to showcase our effort, and proclaim, “See! I did it myself.” But if rescue rested on us, one question would always haunt us: Have I done enough? As our substitute, Jesus did enough. He lived the life we fail to live. He suffered our curse. He died our death. And he rose from the grave to prove that he has finished the work to save us. In Jesus, your doubt, fear, and worry—are silenced! And not just for you. Jesus solves the problem of sin for the whole world. Which means salvation does not depend on our performance. It rests in Christ. So, forgiveness is not something we earn. Life is not something we must win. Salvation is not something we secure for ourselves. It is a gift God gives to all who trust in Jesus Christ. Guaranteed. Certain. Secure. Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for being the Savior the world needs. Strengthen my faith in you and help me share your saving name with others. Amen. Daily Devotions is brought to you by WELS. Faithfulness to YHVH [as in a marriage] should be our commitment because we bear His Image and Name, and He has committed Himself to us. Think about it: If you’re a Christian, how would others describe the image of Christ that you’re displaying?

All Nations, One Kingdom, One NameThe kingdom of Jesus is for all the hunger & thirst for his righteousness, no matter where they are, or the color of their skin.
Episode Description:What's the one name that can instantly send Tricia into full‑blown outrage—and why does it always make for great radio?
he Bible may be a collection of books written in different styles and seasons, but it tells one unified story. Throughout this series, we'll explore how everything—from the Old Testament to the New—ultimately points to Jesus. To start the series Josh Hall shared a message titled 'One throne, One Name, Jesus'. Catch up on this great message here.
Color: White First Reading: Acts 4:8–13 Psalm: Psalm 118:19–29; antiphon: v. 26 Epistle: 2 Peter 1:1–15 Gospel: Mark 8:27—9:1 Gospel: Mark 8:27–35 Introit: Psalm 89:1, 5, 15–16; antiphon: Psalm 119:46 Gradual: 2 Corinthians 4:5a, 13c; 1 Peter 4:11b; Psalm 113:3 Verse: Mark 8:35 Losing Ourselves in the Confession of the One Name of Salvation St. Peter speaks for all disciples when he confesses, “You are the Christ” (Mark 8:29). This confession is the bedrock of the Church, which Christ Himself builds (Matt. 16:18), for “this Jesus,” the stone rejected by earthly builders, “has become the cornerstone” (Acts 4:11). This was a scandal even to Peter. The Christ must suffer, be rejected, be killed “and after three days rise again” (Mark 8:31), for through this work of salvation received by faith, God's “precious and very great promises” are granted, “so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4). Wherever Jesus is the Christ, His disciples deny themselves, take up their crosses and follow Him (Mark 8:34). They have been cleansed from their former sins and increase in faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, steadfastness, godliness, brotherly affection and love, effective and fruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:5–9). All who trust in Jesus, the Christ of Peter's confession, will save their life, though for His sake they lose it (Mark 8:35). “For there is no other name … by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). It's not secret to anyone paying attention: America is more divided politically and ideologically than we've been in a very long time. And conversations about important cultural moments often quickly devolve into name-calling, shouting, and shaming those who don't see things the way that we do. Regardless of what side you're on of whatever issue is in the forefront of the news cycle, there's talking points we repeat that we've been given from whatever news source we've consumed while we simultaneously shout down the “other side” as loudly as possible. But none of this is working. Something is deeply broken. And for all our rage, it's not getting fixed anytime soon. But why? Why is it that we've found ourselves at such a deeply divided ideological impasse? Perhaps the problem isn't just about politics. Maybe it's not really political at all. Perhaps we are living in the same country, using the same words, but operating with two very different visions of reality itself. Two competing answers to deeper questions we rarely stop to name: Like, what is America, really? What is justice? What does it mean to be free? What is the purpose of law, and who gets to define it? And for those who call themselves Christians, the divide cuts even deeper. What is Christianity at its core? Is it a gospel that calls us to repentance, faith, and obedience to Jesus as Lord? Is it a message that calls us to submit to the commands of God and speaks of God's judgment towards the wicked and unrepentant? Or, is it following a Jesus who was a social activist who lived primarily to extend compassion towards the weak, poor, and disenfranchised? If we're commanded to love our neighbor, what is the wisest and most faithful way to do that in a fractured culture? When love and truth appear to collide, which do we choose? Or is just a false dilemma altogether? OK, real talk. Our intent with this episode is not to yell louder or score points with a certain side. We just want to ask better questions, and hopefully name the rival stories shaping our moment. Because until we understand the visions competing for our allegiance, we'll keep fighting the wrong battles and wondering why nothing ever changes. And maybe…just maybe…if we'll listen long enough and seek truth, maybe the fractures among us just might to start to slowly heal.

BT and Sal dive headfirst into the controversial 2026 Baseball Hall of Fame ballot, which they deem "light." The discussion kicks off with a viral single-vote ballot for David Wright, prompting a fiery debate on the Mets Captain's true Hall credentials versus his "Hall of Fame person" status. The hosts break down their respective five- and four-man ballots, agreeing on Carlos Beltrán (despite the sign-stealing controversy) and "King" Félix Hernández (dominance over longevity). Sal makes a passionate case for Andruw Jones (ten Gold Gloves) and Andy Pettitte (postseason legacy), while BT argues for Francisco "K-Rod" Rodríguez based purely on his historic peak and questions why all the steroid-era greats like A-Rod and Manny Ramírez shouldn't just be inducted together.

When authorities get upset because of one man's healing, Peter and John share the most important Truth with the people. Jesus is the only name by which we can be saved. These disciples share this with the leaders of their day and God intends it for the people of our day too.
The religious leaders arrested Peter and Jon, but could not resist the force of their testimony about Jesus' death and resurrection, which provide the only way of salvation.

LESSON 184The Name Of God Is My Inheritance. You live by symbols. You have made up names for everything you see. Each one becomes a separate entity, identified by its own name. By this you carve it out of unity. By this you designate its special attributes, and set it off from other things by emphasizing space surrounding it. This space you lay between all things to which you give a different name; all happenings in terms of place and time; all bodies which are greeted by a name. This space you see as setting off all things from one another is the means by which the world's perception is achieved. You see something where nothing is, and see as well nothing where there is unity; a space between all things, between all things and you. Thus do you think that you have given life in separation. By this split you think you are established as a unity which functions with an independent will. What are these names by which the world becomes a series of discrete events, of things ununified, of bodies kept apart and holding bits of mind as separate awarenesses? You gave these names to them, establishing perception as you wished to have perception be. The nameless things were given names, and thus reality was given them as well. For what is named is given meaning and will then be seen as meaningful; a cause of true effect, with consequence inherent in itself. This is the way reality is made by partial vision, purposefully set against the given truth. Its enemy is wholeness. It conceives of little things and looks upon them. And a lack of space, a sense of unity or vision that sees differently, become the threats which it must overcome, conflict with and deny.Yet does this other vision still remain a natural direction for the mind to channel its perception. It is hard to teach the mind a thousand alien names, and thousands more. Yet you believe this is what learning means; its one essential goal by which communication is achieved, and concepts can be meaningfully shared. This is the sum of the inheritance the world bestows. And everyone who learns to think that it is so accepts the signs and symbols that assert the world is real. It is for this they stand. They leave no doubt that what is named is there. It can be seen, as is anticipated. What denies that it is true is but illusion, for it is the ultimate reality. To question it is madness; to accept its presence is the proof of sanity.Such is the teaching of the world. It is a phase of learning everyone who comes must go through. But the sooner he perceives on what it rests, how questionable are its premises, how doubtful its results, the sooner does he question its effects. Learning that stops with what the world would teach stops short of meaning. In its proper place, it serves but as a starting point from which another kind of learning can begin, a new perception can be gained, and all the arbitrary names the world bestows can be withdrawn as they are raised to doubt.Think not you made the world. Illusions, yes! But what is true in earth and Heaven is beyond your naming. When you call upon a brother, it is to his body that you make appeal. His true Identity is hidden from you by what you believe he really is. His body makes response to what you call him, for his mind consents to take the name you give him as his own. And thus his unity is twice denied, for you perceive him separate from you, and he accepts this separate name as his.It would indeed be strange if you were asked to go beyond all symbols of the world, forgetting them forever; yet were asked to take a teaching function. You have need to use the symbols of the world a while. But be you not deceived by them as well. They do not stand for anything at all, and in your practicing it is this thought that will release you from them. They become but means by which you can communicate in ways the world can understand, but which you recognize is not the unity where true communication can be found. Thus what you need are intervals each day in which the learning of the world becomes a transitory phase; a prison house from which you go into the sunlight and forget the darkness. Here you understand the Word, the Name Which God has given you; the one Identity Which all things share; the one acknowledgment of what is true. And then step back to darkness, not because you think it real, but only to proclaim its unreality in terms which still have meaning in the world that darkness rules.Use all the little names and symbols which delineate the world of darkness. Yet accept them not as your reality. The Holy Spirit uses all of them, but He does not forget creation has one Name, one Meaning, and a single Source Which unifies all things within Itself. Use all the names the world bestows on them but for convenience, yet do not forget they share the Name of God along with you.God has no name. And yet His Name becomes the final lesson that all things are one, and at this lesson does all learning end. All names are unified; all space is filled with truth's reflection. Every gap is closed, and separation healed. The Name of God is the inheritance He gave to those who chose the teaching of the world to take the place of Heaven. In our practicing, our purpose is to let our minds accept what God has given as the answer to the pitiful inheritance you made as fitting tribute to the Son He loves. No one can fail who seeks the meaning of the Name of God. Experience must come to supplement the Word. But first you must accept the Name for all reality, and realize the many names you gave its aspects have distorted what you see, but have not interfered with truth at all. One Name we bring into our practicing. One Name we use to unify our sight. And though we use a different name for each awareness of an aspect of God's Son, we understand that they have but one Name, Which He has given them. It is this Name we use in practicing. And through Its use, all foolish separations disappear which kept us blind. And we are given strength to see beyond them. Now our sight is blessed with blessings we can give as we receive.Father, our Name is Yours. In It we are united with all living things, and You Who are their one Creator. What we made and call by many different names is but a shadow we have tried to cast across Your Own Reality. And we are glad and thankful we were wrong. All our mistakes we give to You, that we may be absolved from all effects our errors seemed to have. And we accept the truth You give, in place of every one of them. Your Name is our salvation and escape from what we made. Your Name unites us in the oneness which is our inheritance and peace. Amen.- Jesus Christ in ACIM

On this episode, Tony Brueski digs into the explosive new allegations linking Sean "Diddy" Combs to the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur. Newly released legal documents reveal a secretly recorded police interview with Duane "Keefe D" Davis, who is currently awaiting trial for Tupac's murder, where Keefe D implicates Diddy as the mastermind behind the crime, allegedly offering millions for the deaths of both Tupac and Suge Knight. Tony breaks down the shocking details from the interview transcript, examines Diddy's denials, and explores the implications of these revelations for both Diddy's ongoing legal battles and the decades-long investigation into Tupac's unsolved murder. With Diddy already in federal custody on unrelated charges, could these new allegations finally bring closure to one of the most infamous cases in music history?
