David ist seit vielen Jahren in der Club-Szene unterwegs und hat auf seinem bisherigen Weg wahnsinnig viel erlebt. 2004 gründete er zusammen mit Freundinnen und Freunden das Bachstelzen-Kollekiv, das heute unter anderem einen eigenen Floor auf der Fusion bespielt. Außerdem ist er eng mit der Bar25 und den nachfolgenden Projekten wie dem Kater Holzig, dem Kater Blau und dem Holzmarkt verbunden. Welcome to our summer edition of the Intransikbeats Podcast ! His debut in music all started through digging the parents‘ Soul and 80‘s Dance Tapes in his childhood, Tension got influenced with music early. By listening to genres like Hip Hop, Metal and later Drum & Bass aswell as House Music, he got entusiastic about the diversity of electronic music. Those Inspirations have inspired his musical career, but contributed to his eclecticism in sound. By gathering experience at clubs and festivals since 2006, he soon got deeper into DJing and producing various electronic sounds. Based in his hometown Bielefeld, he took his sound to South Africa in 2013 for a 14 days tour, followed by gigs at Berlin‘s Kater Holzig, Maria am Ostbahnhof and Tresor in 2016. Beside several EP‘s, he released his first self entitled album on his regular, Berlin-based label „Be Sure“. Relevantly embossed by labels like Basic Channel, Ostgut Ton or Perlon, he situates his sound between the poles of (Dub-)Techno, Electronica and Breakbeat, but with a touch of minimalism which he expresses aswell in his DJ- as in his Livesets. On this week’s episode we bring a live session by a super guest, Berlin based producer and label owner YAPACC (Perlon, Pfand, Lucidflow, Brise, Apparel). Born in Frankfurt and now based in Berlin, YAPACC sways the electronic music scene and dancefloors with his live sound since the early 90s. His interest in music aroused by his experience with analogue electronics at a very young age. He wrote and released his first maelstrom recordings EP in 1997 under the techno duo pseudonym «Electrasmus». This was followed by a track at the Frankfurt's art label Poet Club Recording for the compilation «Inside 2» alongside Brian Eno, Shantel and Apex. Henceforth emerged more than 250 releases by over 80 labels such as Neuton, Perlon, Wir/Treibstoff, Brise and Lucidflow, and remixes for Ricardo Villalobos, Italoboyz, Pascal Feos, 2raumwohnung and many more. Since 2003 YAPACC has also been a member of the project «Narcotic Syntax» with James Dean Brown, which certainly has been an important part of the Perlon history. In the same year they released their first Perlon 036 «Ping Pong Voodoo», which was followed by plenty more on compilations and live analogue performances up until the present day. YAPACC has impressed many international clubs and their visitors with his intensive and organic live performances at venues such as Panorama Bar , Fabric London, Watergate, Love Parade Berlin, Time Warp, Sonar Festival,Bar 25/Kater Holzig, Tresor, Harry Klein, Fuse Club, Studio 80, U60311, Airport, Bar Americas, Mix Club, Bootleg, The Bunker (nyc), Harvest Festival (ca), Fusion Festival, Closer Club, Propaganda Club, amongst many more. Recently he founded the project "The Cabin" and the label «Pfand» with partner Hal Wong. Pfand will regulary release vinyls for club and listening platforms. Berlin has a new mayor - Michael Müller, the man who headed the failed attempt to build on Tempelhof field. Will the city like being run by the man whose development plan they rejected? The 25th anniversary of the fall of the wall was celebrated with white balloons being released - and many of the stands being stolen. But the city says it won't hunt down those who nicked a stand. We talk to visting journalist Nalina Eggert about the anniversary. The company behind the famous nightclub Kater Holzig has filed for bankruptcy, in what appears to be a tricky maneouver to avoid paying its bills. The party continues in a different location under a new name and new legal entity, which plans to build apartments and restaurants on the site of the original club Bar 25. Der Kater lässt das Mausen nicht.: Frau Katja, Cindy und Onkel Andy auf Spurensuche am Spreeufer.Die legendäre Bar 25, bekannt geworden auch durch den nicht weniger legendären Besuch des Küchenradioteams dort vor einigen Jahren, ist verschwunden und musste den Bauplänen eines Schweizer Pensionsfonds weichen - doch, oh Wunder, hinter diesem Fonds stecken wiederum die Bar 25-Macher, die, bis sich die Lage geklärt hat, auf dem gegenüberliegenden Ufer lauern und dort das Nachfolgeprojekt der Bar betreiben: Kater Holzig, in Stil und Bauweise der Bar nachempfunden, und wie diese auch mit einem Luxusrestaurant ausgestattet, in dem Besucher von New York bis Niestetal in laut hallenden Ruinen speisen und nachempfinden können, wie spannend Berlin angeblich in den 90ern war, bevor der Run der Touristen und Investoren auf die Stadt begann. Damals hätte sich freilich niemand getraut, für ein Abendessen im Seniorentellerformat 27 Euro zu nehmen, Wein und Wasser gar nicht mitgerechnet. Cindy, Frau Katja und Onkel Andi sprechen mit Küchenchef Juval und bekommen am Ende zur Belohnung eine Marke: Nie wieder Schlange stehen.
