He remembers when he saw the movie about Bar25 in 2017, and he always wonders if that place will ever re-open so he can experience it. DJ/producer Gunnar Stiller has seen Berlin transform considerably over the last couple of decades, soaking in influence as well as helping shape its development as a musical force, becoming a fixture of the city's scene along the way. Whether playing in clubs around the world such as Panorama Bar and Watergate in Berlin, Hive Club Zurich, Baum in Bogotá and Glow Bangkok or producing his own tracks for respected labels like Upon.You Records, Smiley Fingers, Voltage Musique and Ballroom Records, Stiller's technique is deep in character, an outward-reaching combination of techno and techhouse with his trademark funk-tinged basslines. In 2003 while working as manager for Berlin-based event agency No Ufos, Gunnar found himself in the heart of a perfect playground to gain insight and develop his own style, which at the time was focused on deep house, breaks and electro. Inspired by those around him such as Steve Bug, Matthias Tanzmann and Martin Landsky, Stiller quickly began to carve out his own sound that impressed not just the dancers filling the floor but also any promoter and organizer who was paying attention. Pushing himself toward further success, he founded the artist alliance Edelmut in 2004 along with a few of his friends, an endeavor which quickly gained them notoriety as they played in the city's top clubs like Watergate, Bar25 and later the infamous KaterHolzig , the latter of which invited Gunnar to become a resident DJ, a position he gladly accepted. On top of this, he became a regular player at the legendary HomeSweetHome sessions. His debut release, the Heideberg EP, and its followup the Manaus Madness EP – both on Voltage Musique – landed directly within the Top 5 German club charts, and Marek Hemmann's remix of “Manaus Madness” was voted the #10 best remix by dance music authority Groove Magazine's 2010 readers' poll. It was around this time that Gunnar joined Upon.You Records as part of their label and booking roster, releasing a lot more EPs and contributing to the acclaimed label compilation Upon.You Diary, which was compiled by himself in 2014. These where followed by collaborations and remix projects with artists like Solomun, AndHim, Layo & Bushwacka!, Alex Niggemann, Danny Serrano, Ray Okpara, Nikola Gala, Larry Cadge, Odd People, Samuel Dan, Nakadia, Dj Le Roi or Loko and more released tracks on labels like Clap Your Hands, Smiley Fingers and Time Has Changed. In the last few years, he has been booked to play at top festivals such as Sonar Festival, Amsterdam Dance Event, Melt! They started performing in the legendary party contexts of Bachstelzen and Bar25 in Berlin back in 2005. Ever since they have been playing widely respected tours in the new and old world. Skinnerbox continuously release their studio productions on labels like BPitch Control, My Favorite Robot, Darkroom Dubs, including several musical collaborations with other artists. In 2014 was the premiere of “Time & Timbre” – a software drum-sequencer and -synthesizer for Max for Live. It is the result of an ongoing technical relationship with Ableton and the idea to make an instrument available for the public which was originally designed by Skinnerbox for their personal needs in the studio. Wie auch in den vergangenen Jahren haben wir zum Jubiläum einen Spezial Podcast für euch vorbereitet. Mit Daniel Jaeger und Mike Book haben wir in diesem Jahr bewusst zwei der Berliner Durchstarter des Jahres ausgewählt, da sie mit ihrem Sound regelmäßig unseren Geschmack treffen. Aus Liebe zum BeatDass wir es bei diesem Künstler mit einem absoluten Profi in der Deep- und Techhouse Szene zutun haben, wird bei seiner Biografie schnell klar: Kai, der heute in den angesagtesten Clubs der Welt Zuhause ist, macht seine ersten Schritte in die elektronische Richtung in den 90er Jahren. Was damals noch ein sehnlichster Traum für den jungen Nachwuchs-DJ ist, gehört heute zu seinem elektronischen Alltag: Ob St. Petersburg, Tahiti, Bora Bora, Ibiza, Mallorca, Berlin oder Hamburg – bei diesen verträumt pulsierenden Sets und effektvollen Beats bleibt selten eine Tanzfläche leer und weil Kai geradezu zum Tanzen verführt, zählt er zu den beliebtesten DJ’s im Deephouse- und House Bereich. Ob dunkle Kellerclubs oder feinste Sandstrände, Tag oder Nacht – dieser Sound soll einfach nicht mehr aufhören. Mit seinem unverwechselbaren Mix aus Deephouse und House erobert er im Jahr 2013 dann die internationale Clubszene, startet als DJ in Russland, den Balearen und sogar im Süd-Pazifik durch. Doch auch in Deutschland folgt ein entscheidender Schritt noch im gleichen Jahr: Das Weimarer Label Karera Records übernimmt von nun an sein Management, führt den Ausnahmekünstler mit den bekanntesten Clubs in der Szene zusammen und Kai wird zum unverzichtbaren Teil der Abendgestaltung zahlreicher Deephouse- und House Fans. Seither wird der DJ, der inzwischen zumindest manchmal in seiner Wahlheimat Trier zur Ruhe kommt, regelmäßig vom Berliner Club Sisyphos gebucht. In der Bar25 war es auch, wo sich Miras Wege zum ersten Mal mit Chris Schwarzwalder, NU und Jo Ke kreuzten; daraus entstanden sind nicht nur lebenslange Freundschaften sondern auch kreativer musikalischer Austausch, Kooperationen und ein nicht enden wollender Output an toller Musik. Jeder, der selbst schon einmal in den Genuss ihrer endlosen Sets gekommen ist, versteht sofort warum ganz Berlin ihren speziellen Sound so sehr schätzt. November bei ihrer Discotribe-Party im Palais. Benno Blome, seines Zeichens Chef von Sender Records, lässt mal wieder reduzierten, straighten Hauptstadt-Sound in München erklingen. Seine Plattentasche ist stets prall gefüllt, sei es mit eigenen Releases und Kooperationen mit Größen wie Tigerskin, Baby Ford oder A Guy Called Gerald oder mit dem neuesten Minimal-Stoff anderer Kollegen. Der frühere Resident-DJ der legendären Bar25 beweist beim Auflegen stets ein gutes Händchen, wenn es darum geht, die Tanzfläche vollends zu elektrisieren. Selbiges gelingt auch Gastgeberin Sandra Gold immer ganz wunderbar, wobei sie eher Deep House, Nu Disco, Tribal Beats und lang nicht mehr gehörte Klassiker als Zaubermittel einsetzt. Ebenfalls zum Stamm der Discotribe-Indianer zählen in dieser Nacht Steffen Lengler und Icke Lichtenberg. Steffen ist vielen vom DJ-Duo Salzer n‘ Lengler und von Gigs früheren Gigs im Palais, im Bullitt, im Tante Erna und im Pimpernel ein Begriff. Seine Sets wandeln für gewöhnlich auf den Pfaden zwischen Deep und Techhouse. Und Icke Lichtenberg ist, wie man am Vornamen schon erahnen kann, gebürtiger Berliner, der inzwischen in München heimisch geworden ist. Er ist in den 90er Jahren mit Vocal-, Garage- und Discohouse groß geworden, was sich durchaus auch in seinen Sets widerspiegelt. Wer auf Techno oder Minimal steht, ist bei ihm an der falschen Adresse. Bevorzugt man dagegen melodischen, treibenden House-Sound, kommt man voll auf seine Kosten.

Patrik Skoog (DE) - NightVision Techno PODCAST 91 pt.2 Bio: Patrik Skoog isn’t only one of the youngest veteran techno and house producers from Sweden, he’s also one of the most interesting and inspired. Though incredibly versatile, the sustained energy in his sets and productions are equally exceptional. In the last two years, Agaric established the Club Tracks 10” series on his label We Are. Besides his own stellar productions, collaborations with close friends Shonky, Walker Barnard, Ed Davenport, and Beaner have also graced the Club Tracks series. International support came from leading DJs like Richie Hawtin, Seth Troxler, Loco Dice, Ben Klock, Luciano, Joris Voorn, Magda, Laurent Garnier, Sven Väth, and Adam Beyer. Above all, his productions were championed by Josh Wink, who went on to sign his album debut to his Ovum imprint. After more than 100 vinyl releases, Patrik Skoog can look back at quite a history: His harder Techno project Headroom on his label Native Diffusion, releases on Synewave, Loop, and many more long forgotten underground labels in the 90s and early 2000s left his first mark for those who know. From 2005 on, he evolved into his deeper Agaric project, with releases on his internationally celebrated We Are label, Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, Truesoul & Mad Eye, Raum…Musik, Sunset Diskos, Nummer, Kontra Musik, Treibstoff and Liebe Detail. As a technical DJ with a magical sense for momentum and selection, he’s been playing worldwide for more than 10 years, while his equally as stellar Live sets are one of the few that can rock a crowd throughout its duration. Relocating to Berlin in 2007, he quickly established himself as a celebrated constant inspiration, be it for extended Bar25 after hour sets, or club nights in Watergate, Arena, and Berghain’s Panoramabar, where he now holds his We Are label nights. Agaric’s mature, yet free floating approach to club music culture promises not only sweaty nights (and days) on the floor, but also peace of mind and revelation for the searching soul. # 3 Jahre Jeden Tag ein Set # by Dirty Doering Zum dritten Geburtstag von Jeden Tag ein Set gratuliert Dirty Doering mit einem neuen Podcast. Der Berliner der einst Barkeeper in der Bar25 war, dann dort zum Resident wurde, reist inzwischen als DJ rund um die Welt. Zu Beginn der Kater –Ära hatte Dirty Doering die Idee mit Katermukke ein Label rund um den Spreeclub ins Leben zu rufen. Seitdem veröffentlicht er dort Musik, mindestens ebenso bunt und vielfältig wie seine DJ-Sets. Egal ob deep oder treibend, seltsam verwunschen oder kristallklar – Dirty Doering und Katermukke legen sich eher selten fest. Und wissen dennoch ganz genau wo es hingeht: Immer weiter raus aus dem Alltag.
