As citizens of the Kingdom of God, we are called to a higher allegiance, one that transcends political parties, nations, and earthly rulers. In this series, "Voter Guide - Kingdom Allegiance in a Divided World," we explore what it means to follow Jesus, the Lamb who was slain, rather than aligning ourselves with the symbols of earthly power—the elephant or the donkey. Our allegiance is not defined by political ideologies but by the gospel of Christ. This voter guide is not about endorsing candidates or platforms but about re-centering our hearts on who we are truly allegiant to: Jesus. Through each week of this series, we will journey through the dynamics of Kingdom citizenship and learn how to engage the world around us with a gospel-centered conscience. In this journey, we will examine how the Lamb—Jesus, the King of Kings—guides us to live as faithful citizens of His kingdom while navigating our responsibilities on earth. Let's be reminded that our vote matters, but more than that, our ultimate allegiance must be to Christ and His Kingdom, above all else. In our diversity, we find unity as we stand under the Lordship of Jesus, agreeing on the main thing: Jesus is King. This week's bonus show features Part II of our conversation with psychiatrist and bestselling author Dr. Bandy Lee. We dive into the phenomenon of “Trump contagion,” strategies for handling MAGA cultists in your life (including how to respond if harassed in public), whether Trump is the Antichrist (spoiler: he is!), and whether Trump staged the recent assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. This week's show also answers a pressing question from a listener. Democracy Defender Patreon supporter Melissa asks: “If you or anyone else has any good reads to recommend on the Green Party and its origins, would love to read it as they are clearly now a Kremlin owned and operated effort to divide and conquer the left.” Melissa, we've got you covered! Check out our Jill Stein Voter Guide Super Special. If you know someone considering a vote for Jill Stein, share this special episode highlighting her troubling track record of hypocrisy. Despite being labeled a “peace candidate,” Jill Stein is a multimillionaire profiting from investments in the military-industrial complexand fossil fuels. Interestingly, the European Green Party has called for Jill Stein to withdraw from the race and endorse Kamala Harris, stating: “With wars raging and authoritarianism on the rise, Europe needs Kamala Harris as President of the United States—a reliable partner who can take urgent action on the climate crisis and foster a just, sustainable peace in the Middle East.” The European Green family, which consists of Green parties across Europe, has emphasized that their values starkly contrast with those of Jill Stein's (fake) Green Party. In their statement, they criticized the US Greens for their connections to authoritarian leaders and diverging policies, particularly regarding Russia's genocidal invasion of Ukraine.  To catch the full episode, subscribe at Patreon.com/Gaslit. During election season, it's crucial for Christians to stand firm in the truth of the Bible. As followers of Christ, we are called to be a light in the darkness, upholding values that honor God, from the sanctity of life to the preservation of family. In a world filled with competing voices and shifting morals, the never changing Word of God provides clarity and direction. Speaking biblical truth during this time is not only a testament to our faith but also a call to seek leaders who reflect Godly principles, ensuring that our nation remains grounded in His righteousness.Voter Guide

Parson who launched The Missouri Bar's Diversity Judicial Internship Program last year!!!  Another judge appointed by Parson previously served as Chair to a social justice organization. In addition to looking at who appointed them, I dug into the organizations the judges were affiliated with.  I also looked into some of their court cases to base my determinations.  Some of them were involved in the 21st Circuit Family Court in 2021 when they were exposed for corruption in the Tolu case.  Obviously, I recommend against retaining the Family Court judges that were involved.  See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Prop. 36: Increase Penalties for Certain Theft and Drug Crimes

The Bay

10 years ago, Californians passed Prop. 47, which reclassified certain petty theft and drug possession crimes as misdemeanors instead of felonies. At the time, it was part of an effort to reduce prison overcrowding and promote alternatives to incarceration. Supporters of Prop. 36 say that it's time to roll back parts of that ballot measure in order to address drug crimes and retail theft. Opponents fear that it will take money away from rehabilitation services and revive the War on Drugs. In recent years, the expansion of Medi-Cal has allowed millions of low-income Californians to get access to health care. But while demand for services has increased dramatically, providers have not seen the same increase in payments, leading to many Medi-Cal patients being denied care.  Prop 35 would make an existing tax on health insurance companies permanent and restrict the allocation of the funds to certain Medi-Cal providers. Supporters say it will help address health inequities and guarantee Medi-Cal funding. Opponents worry that it creates winners and losers by restricting funds to certain providers.  Prop Fest is a collaboration from Bay Curious and The Bay podcasts, where we break down each of the 10 statewide propositions that will be on your November 2024 ballot. Since 1995, California has banned certain types of local rent control laws — specifically, on single family homes, condos, properties built after 1995, and new tenants. If Prop. 33 passes, this ban would be repealed and cities would be allowed to impose these kinds of new rent control laws in the future. Today's Topics: 1) Gospel - MT 15:21-28 - At that time Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman of that district came and called out, “Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is tormented by a demon.” But He did not say a word in answer to her. His disciples came and asked Him, “Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us.” He said in reply, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” But the woman came and did Him homage, saying, “Lord, help me.” He said in reply, “It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters.” Then Jesus said to her in reply, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that hour.
