In Matthew 24:15 Jesus speaks of the 'Abomination of Desolation'. Was Jesus referring to the fall of Jerusalem in 70AD or a future abomination still to be fulfilled?
Up To Jerusalem - Teaching 9 Scripture - Matthew 25-26, Luke 22 We continue with Jesus' Mt. Olivet Discourse where He is talking about the future end of Jerusalem that did happen in 70AD several decades after His ascension and as the fulfillment of Old Testament prophets. Jesus is also talking of the preparation for His second coming and the importance of being awake. Pastor reviews the conclusion of the Parable of the Ten Virgins with Jesus' words,”Therefore keep watch because you do not know the day or the hour.” We want to be awakened ⁃ Awake to the things of God ⁃ Awake to what He desires of us ⁃ Awake to our mission to lead others to a knowledge of the Savior and to usher in the Kingdom of God Additional parables covered ⁃ The Parable of the Talents - It is possible to know about the Master without truly knowing Him and living in relationship with Him. We are to use all He has given us to His glory so that others know and learn the Good News of our Savior. We are called to serve, love and honor God. ⁃ The Parable of the Sheep and the Goats - Pastor helps us understand this parable in a first century Jewish context. This story is incredibly profound and Pastor shares a personal testimony around the subject of sheep and goats and the question: “Do goats hear the shepherd's voice?” Pastor shares the differences between sheep and goats. In Jerusalem these two animals are in the same flock but they are very different. ⁃ Identity: 54 chromosomes vs. 60 chromosomes ⁃ Diet: tender grass vs. garbage ⁃ Intelligence: great ability to learn and understand and created to thrive under a shepherd vs. independent ⁃ Offspring: keep lambs near by vs. send their offspring out on their own ⁃ Social structures: no competition, need a shepherd to lead them vs. butt heads, desire to dominate ⁃ Shepherd: only thrive under a good shepherd vs. fiercely independent This parable shows us that it is possible to be a member of the flock but not be one of The Shepherd's sheep. Jesus is the Good Shepherd and it's important to follow Him. This parable goes on to talk about when “The King” comes and how He will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. Sheep on His right to eternal life and goats on the left to eternal punishment. This parable is about being a new creation in Christ, a follower, one of His sheep that hears His voice. Goats have not become new in Christ and want be in control. We are NOT saved by works - we are saved by the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for His sheep. As we continue, we move into Matthew 26 where Jesus tells His disciples, again, of His impending crucifixion. We see Judas going to the chief priests as he prepares to betray Jesus as told in both Matthew 26 and Luke 22. From there we see Jesus send two of His disciples (Peter and John) to begin preparations for the Passover meal which includes finding a place for their meal together and also going to the temple for the lamb for the meal. Pastor points out several examples of Jesus being in control of the details leading up to His arrest and that it is not the enemy who is control. Jesus is in charge! He is the Lord! And this is something we each need to realize - we are not in charge of our destinies, we do not make the rules, when we try - then we are like goats. But when we listen to Jesus, the Good Shepherd, we are His precious sheep and He desires to be both Lord and Savior in our lives. Even through Judas is “making plans” Jesus is still in control and He will not allow the enemy to divert Him from the Father's purpose. Pastor goes on to share unique details about the Passover lambs at the temple and our Passover Lamb, Jesus. Up To Jerusalem - Teaching 8 Scripture - Matthew 24:15 - Matthew 25:13 Luke 21, Mark 13 and Matthew 24-25 all have the story of Jesus' Mt. Olivet Discourse with His disciples. In today's opening verses in Matthew 24:15ff, we hear Jesus answering the questions we left off with last week. The two questions the disciples asked Jesus: 1. When will these things you are telling us happen to the temple 2. What will be the sign of your return They are thinking that these two questions coincide one with the other…. As we now know - that was not the case. Jesus is giving a forewarning of what would befall Jerusalem. (The fall happened in the year 70AD when the Roman General Titus laid siege to Jerusalem and ultimately leveled it to the ground.) Jesus' answer contains responses for both the questions. The Abomination that causes Desolation - three options of what this might be were shared last week - but only one seems to fit the time frame: An event in winter 67/68AD - the temple was profaned by Jewish insurgents. Pastor reads about the event from Josephus' writing: The Jewish War. During this event the insurgents caused division within the Jewish community. It's a good possibility that this event caused believers in Jesus in the city of Jerusalem to begin fleeing the city by those who took Jesus' words literally. They left because they could see what was coming and Jesus had warned them about what was coming. They fled across the Jordan River and they were protected from the siege by Titus which began shortly after the insurgent uprising. Those who fled were protected from all that followed. Over 1 million people died in the siege of Jerusalem. In Luke 21:20-24 we read: “When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written. How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.” UNTIL THE TIMES OF THE GENTILES ARE FULFILLED - This passage in Luke has been fulfilled in our day. Pastor shares a brief history of the city of Jerusalem from 70AD to the mid 20th century of when the city of Jerusalem was dominated by gentiles. Romans Byzantines Persians Byzantines Crusaders Ottoman Turks WWI British control WWII - The Jewish people were given a homeland in 1948 Six Day War - 1967 City of Jerusalem came under control of the Jewish people and has remained in their control in an uneasy peace. THIS IS SOMETHING JESUS SAID AND IT WAS FULFILLED IN OUR LIFE TIME. "The times of the gentiles are fulfilled"... what does that mean? Does that refer simply to gentile control of Jerusalem? Or does it mean far more? Romans 9, 10, and 11 talk about the Jewish people returning to the Messiah. When they return to Him - the end comes! We don't know the day or hour - but He tells us when we see these things happening, look up because our redemption is drawing near. Jesus' final return will be like lightening filling the sky. He will come on cloud in great glory! As the discourse continues in Matthew 24 - 25 we read about the following: ⁃ Fig Tree Imagery - Jesus prophesies that the end is near when we again see Israel beginning to flourish then we know “summer is near” (the end is coming) ⁃ Jesus says, “This generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.” THIS GENERATION - generation in Greek has multiple meanings - one meaning refers to “this people” the other to “this nation” and in Aramaic (Jesus' language of the day) the word for generation and the word for nation are the same word. It may well be that what Jesus is declaring is that the Jewish people will not come to an end - they will survive. And they have. ⁃ Judgement by fire ⁃ Be awake! ⁃ Do not grow weary in doing what is right ⁃ Follow Jesus - receive Him as King, Savior and Lord ⁃ Last days and times will be difficult - so we are called to walk close to God ⁃ Then Jesus shares several parables to emphasize what He has been teaching. ⁃ The Parable of the Ten Virgins - Be ready for Jesus' return. Pastor shares what Jewish weddings were like in Jesus' day and how knowing that brings insight to this parable to be encouraged to be awake and to be ready for Christ's return. 2 Year Gospel Study - week 64 (Friday, 03–21-25) Up To Jerusalem - Teaching 6 Scripture - Matthew 21:45-46, Matthew 22:1-45, Revelation 7:9-17, Job 19:26, Isaiah 26:19, Daniel 12:2, Exodus 3:6, Mark 12:28-34, John 14:6, Micah 6:8 Today's teaching centers on Jesus' encounters with the religious leaders in the temple as recorded in the 4 gospels and enlightened by some of the latest findings of archeologists and others who have uncovered things that have been hidden for generations but that clearly testify to the truthfulness of God's Word. We will see the display of absolute brilliance as Jesus encounters the religious aristocracy, as He answers the critics and as He clearly demonstrates the Divine plan to redeem the human race. Jesus is in the temple courts teaching - This is where we start today - Matthew 21:45-46 “When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus' parables, they knew he was talking about them. They looked for a way to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd because the people held that he was a prophet.” They wanted to arrest Him but also saw that the crowds were listening to Jesus and receiving Him with joy. Normally the Chief Priests and Pharisees did not see things the same way, but they did as far as how they both felt about Jesus. Their desire to eliminate Jesus brought them together. Jesus' Teachings ⁃ The Parable of the Wedding Banquet (wedding feast / resurrection life / our destiny as true believers in Jesus) This is a banquet we do not want to refuse to come to! In this parable Jesus also predicts the ultimate destruction of the city of Jerusalem which would happen in 70AD. Pastor dissects the part of the story about the man at the feast that wasn't dressed appropriately, in light of the teaching of Jesus found in Revelation 7:9-17. ⁃ Paying the Imperial Tax to Caesar - following the Wedding Banquet parable the pharisees came together with the Herodians to lay out a plan to trap Jesus. Herodians were strong supporters of Herod's dynasty and of Rome and the pharisees hated Roman rule and their taxes. But the two groups unite to trap Jesus with this question that would force Him to choose either the Pharisees or the Herodians: “what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax to Caesar or not?” But to this hot button issue on Roman taxes - Jesus answers: “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought Him a denarius and Jesus asks, “whose image is this and whose inscription?” Their response is “Caesar's” Then Jesus said to them, “give back to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is Gods” When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away. Their trap had failed. ⁃ Marriage at the Resurrection - this onslaught against Jesus comes from the Sadducees with the story of seven brothers and the law in the Torah and Jesus again avoids their trap by confronting them with wisdom and scriptures. ⁃ The Greatest Commandment - “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these.” We are called to show love because God love us through His Son, Jesus. And then we read, “And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.” ⁃ Whose Son is Messiah? Now Jesus decides to ask a question, “Why do the teachers of the law say that the Messiah is the son of David.” Then Jesus adds a quote from King David. “David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared: “‘The Lord said to my Lord:“Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet.”' David himself calls him ‘Lord.' How then can he be his son?” Jesus is calling them to really think hard about what David is saying. Pastor shares an enlightened look at what David is saying and what Jesus is desiring for the crowd to understand. The teaching concludes with a look at some archeological discoveries and a peek into next week's class. Revelation 17 unpacks a powerful prophetic picture of judgment upon Mystery Babylon, the Great Whore, symbolizing Jerusalem's spiritual adultery and rejection of Christ. By aligning with the beast (Rome), Jerusalem meets its end, fulfilling Old Testament warnings and Christ's prophecies. Daily Dose of Hope February 13, 2025 Day 5 of Week 46 Scripture: Daniel 10-12; John 20 It's Daily Dose of Hope time, everyone. Welcome back on this Thursday. The Daily Dose is a devotional and podcast designed to complement the New Hope Bible reading plan. Our Old Testament Scripture today is Daniel, chapters 10-12. In these chapters, Daniel has one final vision. We again are presented with the various kingdoms, the Medo-Persian empire, the Greeks, and then some lesser kings and finally something called the king of the North. The king of the North is particularly wicked and desecrates the Temple. The king eventually is destroyed himself. But what does this all mean? Scholars have certainly debated this. Some think the vision refers to the violent Syrian king around 160BC. Others think it refers to the coming of Jesus and the oppression in the Roman empire followed by the destruction of Jerusalem around 70AD. Still others think this is something that has not yet occurred. It's possible they are all correct. Afterall, Daniel is intended to offer hope that applies to all people. Think about it. Humans and their kings can become beastlike when they become drunk with power and don't acknowledge God as their king. But God will eventually confront the beast and destroy it, installing his Kingdom which is fair, just, and peaceful. Our New Testament Scripture is John 20. He is Risen!!! This is the Easter Sunday narrative. Today's Scripture is some of my favorite. Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed. She went to get Simon Peter and the other disciple whom Jesus loved (most likely John, the author). They rushed to the tomb. Jesus' body was no longer there but the strips of cloth used to wrap his dead body were still present. John went inside. He saw and believed. Think about those words. He had been walking with Jesus for three years. John saw miracle after miracle, healing after healing, feeding after feeding. But none of it made sense. It now makes sense. What Jesus said would happen has happened. The cross did not have the final word. Jesus Christ defeated death and darkness. He overcame the world. God's power was demonstrated in such an awesome way; it's really hard to even wrap our brains around it. The transforming power of God was at work then and is still at work today! The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives within us as believers. There is power in that, friends! We are resurrection people. We believe that what was dead can be brought to life. We believe that we are new people in Jesus Christ. We believe that we are raised with Christ. We believe that there is so much more to this world than meets the eye. How have you seen resurrection power at work in your life? Let's close today with a hymn (feel free to sing!)... Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia! Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia! Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia! Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia. Blessings, Pastor Vicki
In this episode, we delve into Revelation 16:10-21, an awe-inspiring passage that describes the fifth, sixth, and seventh vials of God's wrath poured out on the earth. These vials bring darkness, the gathering at Armageddon, and an unparalleled display of divine power through earthquakes, hail, and destruction. We unpack the symbolic and historical contexts, connecting these events to the Roman-Jewish War of the first century and the prophetic imagery from the Old Testament. *****Support This Channel*****Paypal: https://paypal.me/jimivision?locale.x=en_USMonthly Support on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/JimivisionCash App: https://cash.app/$JimivisionVenmo: https://venmo.com/Jimmy-Cooper-17 Contact KenEmail: askbible4family@gmail.com Phone: 401-47-BIBLE https://www.bible4.family Mail To:Jimmy CooperJimivision MediaP.O. This sermon considers the "coming of the Son of Man" in the destruction of the temple in 70AD. Jesus uses prophetic and apocalyptic language to describe the coming judgment of Jerusalem that is orchestrated by his own hand. Jesus removes the kingdom from the Jews who rejected him and grants it to all who call upon his name. This passage reminds us of the truthfulness of our Lord and that we must take every thought captive to obey him.
We discuss the importance of interpreting the book of Hebrews in light of 70 AD
According to Luke 20:20, the chief priests sent spies who pretended to righteous to Jesus to catch him at his words. As a consequence of the hypocrisy of the religious leaders and to reveal the age to come, Jesus tells the Parable of the Wedding Feast. The parable reveals the ignorance and judgment of the religious leaders, the age to come, and the wedding supper of the lamb. Matthew 22:1-14Revelation 19:7-9Revelation 21:1-2Romans 13:14Ephesians 5:24-252 Corinthians 11:2www.messagetokings.com
Scripture - Luke 19:28-44 Triumph and Tragedy Today's teaching on Jesus crying is found only in the book of Luke. It takes place on the Tenth Day of Nissan - a day we call Palm Sunday. We will explore the triumph and the tragedy of that day and what it says about the heart of God, along with what it says to us about our need for Jesus. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the Tenth Day of Nissan - a significant day - the day the Jewish people choose and set aside the lambs in preparation for their slaughter later in the week. It's on this very day that Jesus, our Passover Lamb was being “set aside,” designated, as the sacrifice for the sins of not only the Jews but the entire world. As He rides into Jerusalem He is announcing and presenting Himself as the Lamb of God who offers Himself for us for the sins of the world as our Passover Lamb. Truly a day of triumph and tragedy. Triumph because God wins! Tragedy because of the incredible price Jesus would pay. 500 years earlier the prophet Zechariah announced, “See Jerusalem, your King comes to you riding on a donkey's colt.” This is just how this triumphal entry happens - it's Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey as King. Why say king? In the ancient world if a king came in warfare he rode into town on a horse. But when a king came in peace he rode in on a donkey. And so, Jesus rides into Jerusalem on a donkey, as King of Israel, just as Zechariah had said. There's something fascinating about donkeys. Every donkey has on it's back the shape of a cross - a stripe of dark hair running down its spine and another across its shoulders making a cross upon its back. As Jesus rode into Jerusalem He rode on a cross…. As Jesus overlooks Jerusalem His eyes fill with tears, the word in the greek has the connotation of sobbing. Jesus was sobbing with overwhelm at what he knew lay ahead, by what He knew of the Father's love, by what he knew of the cost of human rebellion that lay ahead. Jesus wept over Jerusalem knowing that although crowds acclaimed him there were many that hated Him and who were plotting His death. So many had rejected Him and Jesus knew the judgement that lay ahead for Jerusalem. He saw the consequences of their rebellion and He sobbed, “If only you had recognized what would bring you peace.” Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Verse 44 tells of the judgement that awaits Jerusalem. This is just what happened within a generation of Jesus speaking these words. Ancient historical writings on the destruction of Israel in 70AD tell of the horrors of Jerusalem's complete destruction and of the deaths of a million Jewish people. And Jesus wept with the knowledge of what was to come. Looking at the past and looking at the present, we can see and understand: Jesus is who He claimed to be, He is the Messiah and Savior. He desires that no one perishes and that all come to the knowledge of the truth. God's purpose in judgement is to draw us back to Himself. For all people, this scripture today reminds us how serious it is to turn one's back on the Living God. The story of the Tenth Day of Nissan shows both Triumph and Tragedy. Tragedy - of all Jesus would endure over the next 6 days, the tragedy of what awaited Jerusalem. Triumph - of an empty tomb, the triumph of a returning Savior. The Son of God endured tragedy for us that we might triumph forever! And even in the tragedies of life God points us to Jesus who brings eternal victory and triumph! Episode #189 For 400 years the Second Temple (the Temple of Jesus' timeframe) served Israel as the center of Worship. That was about to come to an end. The destruction of the Temple at the hands of the Roman General Titus in 70AD, would signal a change. It would be the end of the Jewish Temple Worship practices— but was the destruction (prophesied by Jesus) a SIGN to Jew and Gentile alike, of a ‘new covenant' and a new and living way. The book of Hebrews was written to confirm that, Yes, Jesus has fulfilled the Old Testament promises. All the promises of God find their ‘yes' in Him!
In this passage from Revelation 16, God commands seven angels to unleash His wrath upon Earth through vials, each bringing a catastrophic plague. The first angel's vial causes painful sores on those marked by the beast. The second transforms the sea into blood, killing all marine life within it. The third turns all freshwater sources into blood, symbolizing retribution for the blood of the saints and prophets. As these plagues unfold, an angel justifies these acts as righteous judgment. The fourth angel intensifies the sun's heat, scorching humanity, yet instead of repenting, people curse God, highlighting a stubborn refusal to acknowledge His power. *****Support This Channel*****Paypal: https://paypal.me/jimivision?locale.x=en_USMonthly Support on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/JimivisionCash App: https://cash.app/$JimivisionVenmo: https://venmo.com/Jimmy-Cooper-17 Contact KenEmail: askbible4family@gmail.com Phone: 401-47-BIBLE https://www.bible4.family Mail To:Jimmy CooperJimivision MediaP.O. Passion WeekMonday: Cursing the Fig Tree, Cleansing the TempleJesus started the day cursing the fig tree which represents Israel and preceded to the Temple Mount. He stepped into the Court of the Gentiles and created a whip and drove out the money changers interrupting the Passover weekly procedures. The scribes and chief priests were so angry, they met to discuss how to destroy him. In this episode, we consider their language and the divine justice that will occur in this place of the Court of the Gentiles, per Josephus in the Siege of Jerusalem in 70AD. 1-10 稅吏撒該:2「稅吏長」:羅馬政府採包稅制,耶利哥是大城,稅吏長有許多斂財機會。
This teaching is from Matthew 24:29-39 We continue our study of Jesus' Mount Olivet Discourse with the verses in Matthew 24: 29-30 with the return of Jesus “coming on the clouds”* in power and glory. Coming on the clouds is referenced in Revelation 1:7 “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him…” (There will be no doubt when Jesus returns!!) Coming on the clouds is also referenced in Daniel 7:13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven.”* As people begin to understand what Jesus is saying they will realize that what is written in the Old Testament refers to Jesus! Pastor circles back to some words from last week's teaching and shares further about the “abomination that causes desolation.” Matthew 24:15 ““So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand.“ We take a look at some events that could be considered the abomination that causes desolation. • Antiochus Epiphanes (167BC) This event would probably have come into the disciples minds when Jesus said abomination that causes desolation. This Syrian king conquered Jerusalem and desecrated the temple by building an altar to zeus and sacrificing pigs on it. This lead to a great revolt by the Maccabees who threw out the Syrians and cleaned the temple. • Gaius Caligula (40AD) ordered a statue of himself to be set up in the temple at Jerusalem but before it could be done Gaius died. • Zealots in Winter (67/68 AD) during this revolt against Rome, zealots took over the temple and used it as their headquarters. • The Romans siege (70AD) when the temple and Jerusalem were destroyed (discussed last week). These all either were or could be the abomination that causes desolation. As we see in the Bible there are repeated themes and events: -God's people turn away from Him -judgement comes -God intervenes to save His people -His people rejoice -then they turn away from Him -God steps in to save His people -His people rejoice -then they turn away from Him -it brings judgement on them -then He rescues them With this repeating theme we see that there could also be a • Future Event (? AD) and the reader will also still need to “understand” what Jesus is talking about. Matthew 24:31-33 We are tasked to learn the lesson that as we see all these signs of the times that Christ's return is ever nearer. He is coming soon! As we continue with our reading of today's verses we read that no one knows the day and hour of Jesus' return. As in Noah's day when people were eating and drinking and knew nothing until the flood came, so it will be when Christ returns - many will be found unprepared. SO THEREFORE BE AWAKE AND READY FOR CHRIST'S RETURN! Most Christians and non-Christians alike have heard and may even be able to recite what is commonly known as 'The Lord's Prayer.' But what may be less commonly known is its power for spiritual depth, revolutionizing our faith, leading us into an effective and meaningful prayer life, and providing practical and spiritual guidance for daily living. *****Support This Channel*****Paypal: https://paypal.me/jimivision?locale.x=en_USMonthly Support on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/JimivisionCash App: https://cash.app/$JimivisionVenmo: https://venmo.com/Jimmy-Cooper-17 Contact KenEmail: askbible4family@gmail.com Phone: 401-47-BIBLE https://www.bible4.family Mail To:Jimmy CooperJimivision MediaP.O. This teaching is from Matthew 24:6-28. Today's class continues with Jesus' discussion with His disciples on the last days. In verse 6 He tells of wars and rumors of wars with the encouragement to not be alarmed, to not live in fear, because even in the most uncertain of times believers know that God is in control. Jesus goes on to mention famines and earthquakes with nation against nation and calls this the beginnings of birth pains. Jesus uses the analogy of a woman giving birth and the birth pains to represent the coming of the last days. Birth pains start slowly - far apart and then grow closer as she gets closer to delivering the baby - stronger and closer. Meaning these last days events (wars, famines, earthquakes) will become more and more frequent and more severe. Pastor shares statistics pointing to the evidence of these last days birth pains ramping up. Verses 9-11 point to even more attacks and persecution of believers and again these are likened to birth pains - becoming more frequent. Pastor shares stats showing the evidence of Christian martyrdom ramping up. Verses 12-14 - Jesus shares that there will be an increase of wickedness and that love for God will grow cold. Jesus encourages us to stand firm to the end and not to buy into the narrative of the culture. Jesus goes on to say that the gospel message would be preached as a testimony to all nations and then the end will come. With the current technology over the last 100 years, people have come to know of Jesus by the 100s of millions. We don't know the day - but we are called to be awake and prepared. As we read on, Jesus' focus switches to the “abomination that causes desolation” - Jesus refers to Daniels' prophecy in Daniel 9:26-27. In Daniel's vision he saw the day the Messiah would come, that He would be cut off - killed - and shortly after that the city of Jerusalem and the temple would be destroyed. This all came to fruition approximately 40 years after Jesus spoke of Daniel's vision from centuries earlier from the Messiah's birth, to His death and 40 years later the temple and the city of Jerusalem being destroyed in 70AD. Jesus warns them of what's coming so they will be prepared. "When you see the signs get out of the city of Jerusalem," He said. Many were saved because they took this warning seriously. Many Bible scholars and Pastor as well, see The Great Tribulation is the suffering of God's people until the return of Jesus, not just the temple's destruction, but a time through to the end of time. In Matthew 24:21 Jesus refers to the great tribulation, saying, “For then” meaning from that point on, there will be great tribulation, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now - and never to be equaled again. What is Jesus saying? What does the New Testament tell us of the great tribulation? Many Bible scholars look at the great tribulation not simply as one narrow slice of tribulation at the end of time or one narrow slice of time of the temple's destruction but basically the suffering of God's people until the return of Jesus. Jesus says in verses 22-25 that these days would be cut short for the sake of believers and to not fall for false Christs or other religious schemes and ideas but instead to get into His word and search out His truth and to not be deceived. He is sharing this with us so we are prepared. In today's closing verses, 26-28, Jesus says we will all know when He returns! There will be no doubt when He returns!! In the dramatic unfolding of Revelation 15:6-8, we witness a pivotal moment where Divine judgment intersects with heavenly spectacle. Seven angels, arrayed in radiant purity, emerge from the celestial temple, each bearing a plague destined to manifest God's wrath upon the earth. As they receive their vials from one of the four living creatures, the temple fills with smoke, symbolizing God's unapproachable glory and power, sealing the earth's destiny until the plagues fulfill their purpose. Who are these Angels representing? Could these seven plagues be the fulfillment of the curses portion of Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28? If the physical Ark of the Covenant was on earth today, would it have any power? In Revelation 15:5, John sees the temple of the Tabernacle of Testimony in heaven opened. This powerful vision marks a pivotal moment in unfolding God's divine plan and signals the preparation for the final judgments to be poured out on the earth. What is the significance of the Tabernacle? How are Revelation and Leviticus 26 tied together? Is the Study of Revelation really about eschatology? How was salvation obtained in the Old Covenant? Have you ever committed an act you deeply regretted, perhaps even while professing to be a child of God? Imagine not only succumbing to such a lapse but also attempting to conceal it from the world. This is not just a modern tale of downfall; it's echoed in the scriptures through one of the most revered figures in the Bible—King David, described as a man after God's own heart. King David, beloved and chosen by God, fell into the grievous sins of adultery and murder. His story isn't just about the fall but also about redemption. How was his transgression uncovered, and what steps did he take in response? More importantly, what lessons can we extract from David's profound errors and his journey back to grace? Let's delve into this timeless story to uncover insights on sin, exposure, repentance, and forgiveness. *****Support This Channel*****Paypal: https://paypal.me/jimivision?locale.x=en_USMonthly Support on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/JimivisionCash App: https://cash.app/$JimivisionVenmo: https://venmo.com/Jimmy-Cooper-17 Contact KenEmail: askbible4family@gmail.com Phone: 401-47-BIBLE https://www.bible4.family Mail To:Jimmy CooperJimivision MediaP.O. Today, we delve into Revelation 15:1-4, a passage where the apostle John beholds a profound and awe-inspiring sight in heaven: seven angels bearing the seven last plagues, the culmination of God's wrath. In this momentous vision, John also witnesses the triumphant saints who have conquered the beast, his image, and his mark. They stand on a sea of glass mingled with fire, singing the song of Moses and the Lamb. How does the "Song of Moses and the Lamb" connect the Old and New Testaments, and what might this reveal about the continuity of God's plan throughout biblical history? In this sermon we explore the Exodus of the Old Testament AND the New Testament. The 40 year Exodus of Israel traveling to the promised land of Canaan parallels greatly with the 40 year Exodus of the Old Covenant into the New Covenant after Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. Like the Israelites turning back to the law after not entering into the promised land, Jesus cautions us to not turn back to the Old Covenant, which is filled with sacrifices and atonement made by animals. Instead, Jesus claims He is our ultimate rest. He is our atonement. We find rest in the finished work of Jesus on the cross, the old covenant being done away with, and the temple being destroyed in 70AD.
Revelation 14:14-20 describes a vivid vision of harvest and judgment. Four more angels appear with specific jobs to do. It's the final judgment, where the earth is reaped, and the clusters of the vine are cast into the great winepress of the wrath of God. Is this vision for the whole earth at the end of all time? Revelation 14:6-13 describes three angels delivering divine messages to the world. The first angel proclaims the everlasting gospel to every nation. The second angel announces the fall of Babylon. The third angel warns that anyone who worships the beast or receives his mark will face God's wrath and will be tormented with fire and brimstone. The passage highlights the endurance and faithfulness of the saints, who keep God's commandments and remain steadfast in their faith in Jesus. Are these angels heavenly beings or symbolic of something else? What is 'the Gospel'? What city is Babylon symbolizing? What is 'the patience of the saints', and how do we keep the commandments of God'? In Revelation 14, John sees a vision of the Lamb (Jesus) standing on Mount Zion with 144,000 people with God's name written on their foreheads, symbolizing their divine protection and belonging to God. He then hears a powerful sound from heaven, described as the voice of many waters and great thunder, accompanied by the music of harps. The 144,000 sing a new song before God's throne, the four living creatures, and the elders. This song, exclusive to them, is a powerful symbol of their special status. They are described as those who have remained pure, not defiled by women, symbolizing their spiritual purity. They faithfully follow the Lamb wherever He goes and are considered the first fruits, a special offering to God and the Lamb. These individuals are without deceit and are blameless before the throne of God. Who were the 144,000? What does it mean to be the 'first fruits'? This passage from Revelation 13 describes the rise and actions of two beasts, symbolizing corrupt and blasphemous powers. The first beast, given authority to act for 42 months, speaks blasphemies against God and wages war against the saints, gaining global worship except from those whose names are written in the Book of Life. The second beast, appearing lamb-like but speaking like a dragon, enforces the worship of the first beast through miracles, deception, and economic control, introducing a mark without which no one can buy or sell. This mark, or the number of the beast, is famously identified as 666. Do you think John, who said this number was the number of a man, expected his first-century readers to know who he was talking about? This passage from Revelation 13:1-4 paints a picture of a terrifying vision: a beast rising out of the sea with seven heads, ten horns, and ten crowns, with blasphemous names written on its heads. It resembles a leopard but with the feet of a bear and the mouth of a lion. The dragon (symbolizing Satan) gives the beast its power, throne, and great authority. One of the beast's heads seems to have suffered a fatal wound, yet it miraculously heals, leaving the entire world in awe and leading them to follow the beast. This healing is so profound that it leads people to worship the dragon, who empowered the beast, and the beast itself, praising its unmatched strength and invincibility. Has this beast already been described and defined in the Old Testament Scriptures? In this episode, we study Revelation 12:7-17, which describes a cosmic battle between good and evil. The archangel Michael and his angels fight against the dragon (identified as the Devil or Satan) and his angels. The dragon and his followers are defeated and cast out of heaven to the earth. This event marks the arrival of salvation and the power of God's kingdom. However, the devil, full of wrath, is now on earth, knowing his time is short. The dragon persecutes a woman who had given birth to a male child, but she is protected by God, escaping to the wilderness. The dragon attempts to destroy her with a flood, but the earth helps her by swallowing the flood. Enraged, the dragon turns his anger towards the rest of her offspring—those who keep God's commandments and hold the testimony of Jesus Christ. Does this passage describe our future, or has it already happened? This passage from Revelation 12:1-6 describes a powerful vision in heaven. A woman, symbolizing purity and divine favor, is seen clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She is pregnant and in the throes of giving birth.Another figure, a great red dragon with seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns, appears, representing a formidable and evil force. The dragon's tail sweeps a third of the stars from heaven and casts them to earth. The dragon waits to devour the woman's child as soon as it is born. However, the woman gives birth to a male child who is destined to rule all nations with a rod of iron. The child is taken up to God and His throne for protection, and the woman flees into the wilderness, where God has prepared a place for her to be nourished for 1,260 days. *****Support This Channel*****Paypal: https://paypal.me/jimivision?locale.x=en_USMonthly Support on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/JimivisionCash App: https://cash.app/$JimivisionVenmo: https://venmo.com/Jimmy-Cooper-17 Contact KenEmail: askbible4family@gmail.com Phone: 401-47-BIBLE https://www.bible4.family Mail To:Jimmy CooperJimivision MediaP.O.
