Ephesians 4:7-16. What is the purpose for the spiritual gifts in the church? Why do they often cause confusion and division in churches, when they are given to serve one another and bring unity and growth! He has also given ministry gifts to equip His church and that we might grow in spiritual maturity and […]

Paul's teaching in 1 Corinthians 12 cuts against the mindset of isolation and consumer Christianity. God did not save believers to function independently. He formed the church as one body with many members, each placed intentionally and gifted for the good of the whole. Pastor Andrew Coleman walks through how the Father arranges the body, how the Spirit empowers it, and how Christ unites it. Unity in the church does not come from personality, preference, or similarity. It comes from belonging to Christ together. The passage also presses into practical Christian living. Scripture calls believers to care for one another in tangible ways: bearing burdens, showing honor, serving faithfully, grieving together, and rejoicing together. A healthy church cannot survive on attendance alone. Biblical fellowship requires sacrifice, humility, and active love for other believers. This passage challenges Christians to examine whether they are strengthening the body or remaining disconnected from the work God designed the church to accomplish. ________________________________________ Links to Sermon Notes & Answers: ➤Sermon Notes (Blank): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_09d7256eb8044adcbaf58e6afbfa5af7.pdf ➤Sermon Notes (Answers): https://www.sheridanhills.org/_files/ugd/30fec2_a75032ec72ae421ea604ec1a81611760.pdf ________________________________________ Subscribe to this channel to catch weekly expositional sermons from the Bible. ________________________________________ Explore more sermons and information: https://www.sheridanhills.org/watch-new ________________________________________ Follow us: ➤Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sheridanhills/ ➤Twitter: https://twitter.com/sheridanhills01 ➤Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sheridanhills/

Let's talk about love, on this Tuesday edition of Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones. The Corinthian church had plenty of problems and plenty of questions. Questions about the gift of speaking in tongues, about eating meat offered to idols, about divorce and remarriage. In First Corinthians, the Apostle Paul offers a practical response to these and other issues. But the foundational principle upon which all his answers rested was love. Stay with us now as Ron continues his teaching series, “The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”
Here in America, if you want to take a trip to Sin City, you'll go to Las Vegas. But in first century Greece, you'd have gone to Corinth. Corinth was Vegas before Vegas. Prostitution and debauchery ran rampant. And when a little of the pagan Corinthian culture began to infiltrate the church the Apostle Paul had planted there, Paul took pen to parchment and wrote them a letter. What did he tell them, and how much of what he said applies to our culture today? Find out next, in Ron's continuing series, “The Ultimate Road Trip Through The Bible.”
Welcome to the Podcast of Southwest Bible Fellowship in Tempe, Arizona. WHO ARE WE? • We are a group of people who are committed to living the grace life as set forth by the apostle of the Gentiles, the Apostle Paul. • We come together to study our Bibles, and yes, we believe we have God's perfect Word in the King James Bible. It and it alone is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice! • We do not come together and study our Bibles for the intent of being smarter than others. We understand that knowledge for the sake of knowledge is purely vain and serves no Godly purpose. • We do come together and study our Bibles for the intent of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ and the power of His resurrection. (Philippians 3:10) • We do come together and study our Bibles to understand that we have been crucified with Christ; nevertheless we live; yet not us, but Christ liveth in us: and the life which we now live in the flesh, we live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved us and gave himself for us. (Galatians 2:20) • We do come together and study our Bibles to understand that because Jesus Christ shed His blood for us and we should not live for ourselves but for Him, who died for us and rose again. (2 Cor. 5:15) • We do not claim to have attained to these lofty goals, but we press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. She highlights how different exercise modes affect hormones, the unsustainability of high-volume workouts, and the negative mental effects of using exercise as "penance" for poor eating habits. Read along with the original article(s) here: https://jillfit.com/2012/06/26/6-reasons-cant-outtrain-bad-diet/ Quotes to ponder: "It is not only the amount of food, but also the quality of the foods you eat that matters." "Weight training trumps cardio for fat loss. Intensity trumps duration for fat loss." "The whole concept of 'doing penance' because of bad food choices puts us in a negative frame of mind, where we use guilt and remorse as motivation."
